Got a text November 15th from this number. Texter knew my name. When I asked who it was I got no response. Got a similar text December 27th from this number: 435-216-5244. Last week got another similar text from: 616-205-3211. This one responded when I asked who it was and asked me to add the name alexagirl687 on yahoo messenger. When I said no they said they had no reception. Weird. All numbers show up on spam websites from other people getting the same texts.

This happened to me just now with a 508 number... im from AZ. knew my name! weirdos

Texted and said hi and my name.....they told me to yahoo them as their iPhone was going dead!  I told them to plug in their phone and I was blocking their number !

Called the number blocking my phone, it turns out that 1-619-870-2423 is a Text Plus number.

So whoever it is using this text plus number is some one that you know. And it is most likely a prank.

Same thing with me, Just wrote Hola My name with Three ???  Hola *^%$#???
No response.

Got a text from this number saying "Hey Anelique" not my name, very strange.

They just wrote "hola (and then my first name)

i just got a text from the same person. i dont know anyone in san diego so who knows. they told me to add them on yahoo mesg. and i said no thanks. they never answered back. very strange.

who knows? im pretty far away from CA. Now watch, its a government watch list LOL. well, I guess we could start asking what we all have in common or something,
I work in and on nature, I am a foreigner (but a citizen as well), a socialist, and musician that uses music to educate the audience (without profanity).... I dont believe in the abrahamic faiths..... there are the not so common parts. anyone else?

got a call from this one as well.

I used to live in San Diego back when I was in the Navy. This number texted and said <name> you there!? I asked who is this and no reply. Kind of slim chance that this guy known everyone here commenting.  SPAM attempt I think..

Just curious if everyone getting these texts are from the same area? The prefix is San Diego.  Might be someone who knows all of you?  Just a guess...

This person sent me a text. They knew my first name. I sent a text asking who they were, and days later they finally sent a text back. They told me I had to add them on yahoomessenger if I wanted to find out who they were.

Same thing happened here, the message said "hi <my name> u there? Have not heard from u in a while." I replied "hi, who's this" and never heard back. Glad I found this board so i can stop scratching my head about it haha.

My friend got a text message they knew her name and asked her if she knew my number she asked who it was and never texted it back and this was like four months ago and two days ago I got the same text message like everyone here...the only thing was it was a diffrent number and we was having a conversation but never said a name or how it got my name.....I called both numbers and both say the same thing.

happened yesterday. also asked to add to yahoo IM  "textgirly03". certainly a scam. ignored.

Same for me this afternoon... How do they know my first name??
But I didn't hear anything after I asked "who are you ??"

Got a txt message:

"hey Gerry you there? haven't heard from you in a while."

Same thing, with exactly the same message.
I asked "Who's this?" and it replied to connect to Yahoo Messenger and talk to textieflirter4.
Since I don't have Yahoo Messenger (and the handle sounded dubious) I just dropped it.
Sounds like it's some kind of scam.

Just happened to me as well. Used my first name in the txt.

I blocked the number.
