These guys have a spoof-er that allows them to call from numerous numbers. The most popular one seems to be 620-628-3741. They leave messages saying they are sorry for whats about to happen if i don't call them back for an important legal matter, then called me AT WORK and told me to handcuff myself and go to a courthouse (apparently any one will do) or else they will come to my work and arrest me. It's been a few days and no one has come to arrest me BTW. Today they called the ER where i work 85 times!! I hope no one with a dying family member was trying to call the ER too. Rude a-holes with very poor grasp of the english language. I guess since they couldn't get me to wire them money out of fear they are going to try to get me fired instead.

Some India dude called me multiple times at my job. Threatened to call my boss and tell him I committed a fraud crime. And that he knows I work for a pharmacy and could make me loose my job if I didn't do what he said . He said I will regret being rude to him and I'm going to jail Friday. What do I do to make them stop.

I recieved this call yesterday in the car with my kids. When I screamed I'm going to jail, the kids started crying and it was a mess! I know who I owe and I have never heard of American Cash. The Indian accented guy said they were going to make an example out of me! That Friday they were coming to to arrest me at work and take me to jail. They were going to serve me with papers and I can read them at that time while the officer is arresting me. That didn't make much sense. They had me scared all night. But I'm glad I did some investigation. They wanted $610.00 from me and when I told them I don't get paid until Friday, they said to talk nice to the supervisor and he might not let the law come get me! Then I got suspicious. Don't tell me how to talk to your supervisor when you are threatening to put me in jail. I said I never got a loan from you and they said can you prove it? I know what to do now!

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
ABC News released an investigative report on this scam a year ago:

Calling me continuously telling me I committed fraud, giving a wrong name, telephone number, and bank account for a payday loan would not give me dates. Said I would be behind bars at my work and arrested. Wanted my attornies name.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Called me claiming to be from a law firm said his name was Shawn Williams (an Indian sounding man) from 620-628-3741. Said I was going to be arrested if I didn't pay $689.23 due to an unpaid loan. I called and checked the loans I have outstanding and I can't find one that isn't on time or paid. Not sure what I should do now, very stressed. He gave me a number to call for American Cash and said they could give me the details of the loan but when I called the number he gave me (949-331-9115) she (an Indian sounding woman) said she couldn't give me any loan details because it was already sent to the law office and that I need to pay them ASAP to avoid any additional legal action. I asked them both to give me the date of the supposed loan in question so that I could check my bank account and see if it was in fact deposited and neither of them could give me said date.
