This is legit Cox Cable call. My credit card I use for auto-pay got cancelled during the Target breach, so they are calling to remind me to update it. If you're unsure about giving info out, then don't do it - but if you're a Custer then be sure to login manually and pay your bill. The people getting calls that are not customers are mostly due to some deadbeat skipping out on the bill and changing their cell phone number. You likely have Verizon who is terrible about recycling phone numbers, but could be any phone carrier really.

Automated message that says: "This is an urgent message from Cox Communications. You are a valued customer so it is important we speak to you today regarding your account. To view the status of your account. View your bill or to make a payment on your account. Please visit us online at www. [...] .com or call us at 6232348037. The contact information again is www. [...] .com or call us at 6232348037. Thank you for being a valued Cox customer."

I've received this call once a day almost every day for two weeks.

I called Cox and there is nothing on my Cox account that needs addressing. I can conclude that this is either a phishing scam OR that the automated phone system from Cox is wrong and I am not supposed to be on the list.

cox left a voice mail that my payment is late.it was due last week I forgot about it.

I got a phone call from a blocked number, stating that my cox bill was 4 months past due and I owed them $600. I asked them why they were calling me at 9:30 at night and why haven't I received anything In the mail. I also told him I paid my bill last week online and the balance was $210. He asked for my confirmation number and as I was raising my voice because it sounded like a scam he tried to threaten to turn off my cable and that I would have to pay a hook up fee if I wanted to turn it back on. then asked me why I was getting "sideways" with him. I then jokingly told him ok I'm assuming you want my credit card info. He said no they don't process payments. I checked online after I talked to him my balance was $0. I don't understand how they can scam me without getting my credit card info.

I will get a call from Cox on this number to remind me if my bill payment is more than 2 days late.  It leaves a recorded message asking that I return the call.  I appreciate this, because I do sometimes forget, and their reminder saves me a late charge.  I have been a Cox customer for about 3 1/2 years and have found their customer service, technical service and billing department representatives to be both polite and knowledgeable.  

This is Cox Communications.  They have various numbers on their automated system to call for past due bills, etc.  They called us almost every day for months, so finally I picked up the phone to their recorded message saying there was a problem with the bill (which there never was).  So, since I wanted to get this pain in the butt settled, I followed instructions to talk to a customer service rep.  Their idea of customer service is a joke.  This woman claimed that the phone number might still be attached to an old account (we've lived here 2 years!), verified the address, phone number, name on the bill, last 4 of the social and then asked my partner to verify since it's in his name.  I put him on the phone, he verified he wanted the calls to stop, and it should have been done right then and there.  No such luck,  She kept rambling about how he had to get back on the phone to repeat all of the same info I just gave her.  What a lazy bunch of jack***es.  They have all of the info to go look up the record themselves to verify who the number belongs to, but instead choose to keep harassing us for no reason.  As soon as we move, we are done with them.

This is not Cox Cable. Cox does not call you at 11:45 PM or after 11 PM. I have received 5 calls from this number. After 11 PM on Sunday night.  Other calls after 8 PM.  No message left.  I do believe this is a scam call. More like harassment if you ask me.

This is absolutely COX calling because your (and mine) bill is past due.  Not a scam.

If they owe you money, shut off their frigging TV!!  It's a scam!  If I don't pay my electric bill, it will be off in two weeks!

We have been called twice by this number. I called Cox to verify my bill . Balance is zero, I'm on easy pay. Why are they calling?

This is a legitimate call from Cox regarding bill payment.

This is definitely a HOAX!  Beware.  It's a red flag when the number does not belong to cox but is displayed as an Arizona cell phone number with a crappy automated message trying to duplicate cox and asking you for your account/credit info.  Please don't fall for this!  Always call the actual company line directly.  This guy is a big time scammer.

this is our collections number.  If your bill is past due, you will get a message to call and make arrangements or take care of the balance.  It not sales or a scam. It is Cox collecting payment.

This is Cox Communications for Arizona, its for the Collections Department, not a debt collector or collection agency they are calling active customer to find a way to collect payment to avoid services getting turned off

cox has no idea of whose number it it but its not theirs so do you and the others calming this is really cox calling just one person trying to look like many or a group working in some obscure office of sorts helping to pull off the scam?

This is the Cox Communication Company. I live in TN and they keep calling me for some guy. When I called them back they were unable to find the number in their system to stop the calls since they dont even service TN. I keep waiting for them to call back when I am able to answer (i.e. not at work) to tell them again I am not the guy they are looking for.

Definitely Cox. They left a voicemail saying they wanted to speak with us, referred us to their website to log in and see the status of our account. We're not late on our bill, but I think we need to turn the cable box back in or something. Not a telemarketer or scam, anyway.
