This is a really sad troll attempt.  Take your caps lock button off and stop pretending to be someone you're not.

Any company that uses an autodialler to call people five times a day - sucks.  It's really that esy.  Nobody in their right mind would sign-up for one of their plans.  So stop claiming that people on this thread are paranoid - we're just sick of your company's obnoxious tactics.

Hi Jim,
I've been getting these phonecalls for months, and I have personally asked three times to be taken off the call list.  I still get calls every day.  So no, your company is not a legitimate company.  I have no interest in switching my current plan to your company's plan, and if I was interested in shopping around I would do it myself rather than talking to a customer service agent at an obnoxious company that uses an autodialer to try to trick the gullible and elderly into switching plans.
By the way - for a "top executive", your spelling is atrocious!
The vast majority of people on this thread aren't paranoid, they are simply sick of your disgusting company's obnoxious tactic of calling every day and hoping that we will eventually change our minds to shut your people up.
It won't happen.  Stop calling... all of us!  We wouldn't be on this thread if we were interested in switching to your plan.

So, an organization that believes in unsolicited phone calls does not like receiving them, cannot handle them,  and rises out of indolent  slumber to protest.

It is a hard life in Customer Relations.

Looks as if "Annoyed" was on exactly the right lines.

Dear Customer,
We are sorry to see that your concerns do not seem to have been addressed after Lakeshore Energy’s Manager of Customer Relations responded personally to your e-mail to our organization.  We apologize for the inconvenience and immediately distributed the telephone numbers you listed as prohibited for calling by all agents who call on Lakeshore’s behalf.

The 800 number posted on this forum belongs to a third-party call center who contracts with dozens of energy companies who service areas all over the United States and Canada.  The link you have posted to Lakeshore Energy’s parent company’s website is only associated with our organization who services customers in Michigan and Ohio.  If a customer is called by this 800 number and does not live in those areas, this link is useless to them.  Likewise, this link is only for one of a dozen or so companies who service Michigan or Ohio, and this narrows down the usefulness further.
Please understand that the link you have posted to Seminole Energy’s website will lead potential callers in states other than Michigan and Ohio to a contact who will not be able to address their concerns.  Having said that, even callers in Michigan or Ohio, who may have been called by the third-party call center and who contact a telephone number from the Seminole Energy link you have incorrectly posted, would be contacting someone in a department who is not connected to the small commercial/residential business unit.   Directing customers to do what you have posted will lead them on a wild goose chase.  Others who have posted on this forum before have done the legwork and found the name of the company via a reverse lookup.  If you search their name, you will find this link which is far more helpful to a frustrated customer than giving them false directions and frustrating them even further.
For anyone who does not wish to be contacted by the third-party call center and placed on a Do-Not-Call list, please contact (800-836-6960) to be removed from future campaigns.  If you do not call this number, you will not be taken out of the database, but rather only off the list of the energy supplier that the call center is currently working on behalf of.
To the poster of this original message, if you have any further questions, you know how to contact me.
Thank you for your time.
Manager of Customer Relations

To Whom it may concern:

I work for AGR Group Inc.  I have called people "on behalf of" Direct Energy, MX Energy, Agway Energy, Reliant Energy, Consumer's Energy (Universal Energy), Spark Energy, Lakeshore Energy, Family Energy, and so on.... This is not a "scam" persay.  You live in states that are "De-regulated".  The suppliers listed above (and many more), are authorized to sell energy to you by the PUC (Public Utilities Commision) in whatever state you live in.  As for AGR, we are hired by the suppliers to call you because we do our job well.  Sometimes a supplier will save you money and offer you a good deal.  Sometimes they will rip you off.  Depends on the supplier, the commodity, the territory, ect.  Either way, IT IS MY JOB TO ENROLL CUSTOMERS.  I have bills to pay, I have to put food on my table.  If you people had the sense to listen to the words, say, in my "Urgency Callback Script", you might not freak out so much or be so irritated.  WE DO NOT CLAIM TO BE YOUR UTILITY.  WE DO NOT CLAIM THAT YOU OWE US MONEY.  Pay attention to the words, not the inflection.  Buyer beware.... Every call is recorded and most are monitored.  FOR OUR PROTECTION.  If you say "I'm not interested" I will call you back.  If you say "we don't handle that here" we will call you back.  If you say "DON'T CALL ME ANYMORE" then you WILL be placed on the DNC list within 24-48 hours.  ANY REP WHO DOES NOT DO SO GETS FIRED.  Another thing- There is no Federal DNC list for businesses.  We DNC you as a courtesy. I have to rebuttle you you two to three times or I get suspended.  I have to leave messages or I get suspended.  I have to follow the procedures they outline or I can't afford to pay my bills.  I don't care if it annoys people, it's my job.  AGR is a completely legitimate company with totally clean business practices.  I can tell you that some programs we sell will save you a substantial amount of money.  Some will double your bill.  Doesn't matter.  It's all completely legal.  In fact, you are the people that voted for de-regulation, so you have no one to blame but yourselves. I guess that what I'm trying to say is: "Don't shoot the messenger".  Honestly, I don't want to talk to you either.  Believe me.  But, "why don't you do me a favor, set the phone down, and grab a copy of your bill so I can show you how we can help you out.  Take your time, I get paid by the hour. I just don't want to see you miss out on the rate we're offering today.  After all, this is something you are entitled to by state law.  Something you voted for."  God bless America.  Peace-

They keep calling someone on my old work extension and asking for either me or my husband. I told the person who get's the calls to take a message but they won't leave one with him. He has transferred them to my work VM and they won't even leave a message.
I don't take personal calls at work. This is a major violation of PIPEDA - Privacy !!

i see this number alot - today my husband answered it and they asked to speak to the person who pays the gas bill. since he doesnt like dealing with bills and i do, he asked them to hang on a minute and came and got me. when i picked up the phone i said hello numerous times and then i got a dial tone. They hung up! I said oh well it isnt the gas company because i just paid the bill and it wasnt over due. It must be a scam of some sort. now that i see all your replies, i will never answer it, or simply tell them whatever they are selling i am not interested.

They called 3 times today. I ignored the first two calls and finally answered on the 3rd one. They said they're calling from Direct Energy. I live in Toronto and it just seemed wrong. They called our VOIP number, which has nothing to do with our bills. Those are on a different number!

As with the person that mentioned about AGR Group. It seems they do marketing for energy companies and now they've become extremely annoying! I'm gonna call Direct Energy and see what they say about this.

I've been called by this number for months now, since January 2008, Today is May 16 2008...I did answer the call once and formally asked to be taken off the calling list(that was 3 weeks ago)... I have been called at least TWICE a day /everyday since the removal request! BUT, now its just dead air when I answer the phone with the subsequent click!   Quite Frustrating! IS THERE ANYWAY TO STOP THESE CALLS EVERYDAY TWICE A DAY?  anyone? Have any idea? I've called BELL...they cant do anything until aleast Sept 2008...I REALLY dont want them calling me (let's see 3.5 months X 2 calls a day=approx. 214 calls)
ANOTHER 215 times  Please make them stop.... ;)  M Sutherland

They call me regularly, a few days at a time, sometimes multiple call per day. I do have natural gas, so maybe that is why they keep trying. I never answer.

If you want to confuse the autodialer - input random dtmf digits from your keypad. A bunch of random digits, as soon as you pick up - if there is no voice immediately - the auto dialer is transferring to a live attendant. Prior to this, hit the keys, the autodialer becomes confused and should mark this called number as failed - the server should remove your valid phone number from it's call list. I never give my cell number to anyone other than family and friends, but somehow my number occasionally gets picked for solicitation. This seems to clear it up for a period of time.
