its a scammer and i asked to be on a do not call list and they keep calling now i have them on call block

for they past week I have been getting calls from this number, its from Arizona I just got a voice mail today from that number saying "o my god" from a girl that sounded troubled. I'm rather confused.

I heard that this is a call from a scammer regarding expired car warranty.  Annoying that it called my cell phone number that is on the Do Not Call list.  I really wish there was a way to prosecute these stupid scammers.

got a call from this number.  i answered and they were asking me who handles the conEd bill in the house. i said who are you looking for. they said Mr. Jones. I said no one by that name here. they said who am i speakin with. i said you are lookin for mr. jones, right.  the guy started stuttering and hung up.

Calls me numerous times a day. Same number has been caling since January

this/these scumbags been calling everyday at exactly same time for the past two weeks.

Just got a prepaid phone. Been activated for less than 72 hours. How do these telemarketers get list of numbers so soon after mobile phone activation. Phone companies have to go through an aging process when numbers are reassigned, so it would seem that these spammers have access to some kind of activation list? The north american numbering plan?? Number portability database???

Have had my new prepaid cell phone for less than 4 days and already get calls from this number among others (866 334-0008). These guys are quick and don't waste anytime with harassing telemarketing calls. My phone was only activated 4 days ago?!?

I keep on getting calls and it is very annoying. Why doesn't the Do Not Call Registry shut this place down or impose fines on the company to bankrupt it?  The name "IDT" shows up on my caller log but who knows the type of company they are.

They call me every week.  I refuse to answer.  I tried back once and it disconnects before ringing.

I answered. They asked to speak to whoever handles utility service. I told them I don't take these calls on my cell phone and please remove me from your list. Sadly, they called back anyway.  Aargh.

Getting the same calls, so annoyed I called IDT Energy, it is not them. The scam has evolved to the point that if you call back you get a short recording that says "thank you for calling IDT, we will connect you to a re..." If you call the real IDT, their recording and operator menu is very different. Do not give or confirm any information about yourself to these people, it has scam and ID theft written all over it. Don't even bother to answer it.

Multiple calls from this number EVERY DAY. I'm in NY as well. They never leave a message, and if I hit reject they immediately call back. It's frustrating. What can be done?

It was IDT calling to try to get me to switch to them as an energy provider. I told them I am not interested. They continued calling, from blocked numbers. I wish I could make an automated answer that would play along with them and pretend like I'm interested, waste a good amount of their time, and then tell them to screw off and stop bothering me. Maybe if it can go on for long enough, it would get them to actually remove me.

These guys keep calling me -- asking if I'm the name on the electric bill. I've asked them to take my name off their list SEVERAL times. We'll see if it works this time.

Missed call from this number.  They called my cell.  This line was busy when I called back.  They clearly have no qualms wasting people's daytime minutes.  Moreover, I was expecting an interview call just then.

Weird I just got this call also but a missed call on my Part. I just didn't hear the phone ringing. I tried to call back but just kept getting a busy tone.

I just received a call from them as well. Ironically, i missed the call when I went to the bathroom (refer to NYBrad's post from Jan 4). I hope they don't call back as well since I no longer live in NY anymore.

They called again and it turns out it is IDT, people who are trying to get ConEdison Users in NY to switch over to their electric and gas, still through ConEd.  Not really a scam, but still an undesired call.

Same thing here.  Missed call, no message, no ringing on call back.  Currently in my phone as "Mystery Number."

In the past I have gotten calls from the University of Phoenix. It would ring once and hang up.  I called them and asked them to remove my name from their databanks but they kept calling.  They eventually stopped, but now I'm receiving these calls.  I have never been able to answer, though.  I'm usually in the bathroom when they call.  I wonder if they know...  ominous...  

Has anyone every answered a call from this number?  Or have you checked your phone bill after receiving these calls.  I wonder if there is some sort of money making scam involved.
