It's Discover Card. I made a large purchase of over $1,000 on my Discover Card. They've called me twice and I answered the last call, and there was no foul play involved. Completely legit.

I did not answer the call, but when I called Discover to see if they had called.  There was a fraud hold on my card which I was able to lift.  But as always, if someone calls you and starts asking personal information questions, it's better to just hang up and call the number on the back of your credit card.

You should be even more careful - - they try to trick you to capture your voice on a recording of you saying "Yes" to anything then edit it into the file question they choose.

OH NO I've just give all my details to Discover Finance, they said they were PPI and very good.

What will happen now? any one know? they haven't got my bank details, just DOB address phone numbers email address, what can they do??  Oh and our last employees.

I'm worried now !!!

Always let the machine pick up. If it's legit they'll leave a number that will appear on your credit card. IF NOT - do NOT call them back.

called 1-800 number for discover who confirmed it was a discover card fraud phone number.

This was from Discover Fraud Prevention Department. Just bought the Nintendo Wii U, it declined, they called within 2 minutes and then cleared the block and made my purchase. Thank you Discover for being over protective :)

Add the text option & you will get a text message as well. At least you would know why.

Legit call from Discover. Just call the phone number on the back of your card & you will automatically be routed to the Fraud Prevention Division. If you own a Discover Card & get the call, do call back. We have been "cloned" 3x in the last 6 months and Discover caught it before lots of charges were made. Legit!

Just got this saying Tolleson,AZ with this number.  Claimed to be fraud department of Discover.  Gave an 800 number to return.  I don't answer calls like this but instead called the number on the back of my credit card.  Indeed it had been Discover and there was a hold on my card because of two questionable charges.  I advise others to not be connected or transferred or give information to a caller if they didn't initiate it but to call the company directly if any questions come up.  Better safe than sorry but this time it was legit. This is both a good and bad thing.  Good if someone had my card number but bad if I was out of town and my card was frozen and they had called my home phone.

This was actually a legit call from Discover. If you do have a card, you can access your account online and they will give you the same phone number and tell you that there is a problem with the card.

I believe this is legit. Got a call saying it was Discover fraud department. I'm on travel an purchased things at home, at a layover, and at destination so they locked my Discover card (was just denied) and left a voicemail to call them back. I think they're legit because they asked if I made a purchase at each store and they were the correct stores. Also had my year right for when I became a member. I would consider it legit. Nice that they are that active against fraud.  I'll watch my account just in case though.

I bought tix on stubhub and got a call within an hour to see if purchase was legit then checked here and called the # on the back of the card. It was Discover.

I called discover card using the number on the card. They did have a few questions to ask me. When they called I send it to voice mail. Heard the messege they left I also has doubts. But it turn out it was discover.

They called 3 times in 7 minutes and didn't leave a message. I do not have a discover card, surely if it was legit they would leave a message.

I think this one is legit.  Not only did the caller only want to confim I had actually made a purhase (grocery store, quite a bit over my normal shopping amount) but I got an email from Discover as well from fraud protection asking me to call (in case I got the email before the phone call).  No one ever asked for personal info.

If it is important, leave a message. If not, stop calling!

Just tried to use my Discover card and was denied. Call from Arizona came through while I was dialing Discovers number on the back of my card. They were indeed Discover doing a possible fraud alert that was real. My card was released after talking to them in Ohio.

Yep, just got the second call from them in two weeks. Today's call came from the 623-643- 3294 number with a voicemail saying there was suspected fraudulent use on my Discover card.  I'd be concerned...IF I had a Discover card.  

The first call came on January 23 from 614-283-1941

So much for being on the DO NOT CALL list...

This number is for the Discover Card fraud department. I called back after reading the above responses and when they asked for my credit card number I asked if I could give them my phone number instead and he said yes and proceeded to tell me someone was using my card number in another state.  This is a legitimate call.

Asked for my first and last name so I hung up on them.

Discover Fraud Prevention.  They called me because of some suspicious  charges on my account.  They realized them before I did.  Turns out my credit card number was stolen from another company and someone make some purchases w/ a fake card @ an Apple store.

I just got a call from Discover Card fraud service. +6236433294. They were checking on purchases and attempted purchases I had made. I'm glad they checked. Thanks Discover.

It's not real. I don't own a discover card nor have I signed up for one.

This is NOT Discover Card Fraud department. I confirmed this with Discover. Obviously this is a scam, and they've posted on this site to make the scam look more convincing! Do NOT give out any information. Call 1-800-347-2683 to reach Discover Card to verify charges. Be smart. Be safe.

No voice mail, but they texted me after the missed call. It was Discover Fraud Prevention. I had changed my address to prepare for an upcoming move and they were concerned about a number of charges (small and large) in my current location, since it did not match the address on the card. Charges were mine, glad they were on top of this within hours.
