they called and no oone was there.  a phantom call.

just recieved this call myself, no one responded when i said hello, the hubby tried to call it back and it said not a valid number. Im also on the national do not call registry, i will be reporting this tonight.

got a call tonight 8:23 P.M. sept 8,2009 from 623-742-3888. dial tone when I answered. an "R" appeared on my caller ID for a moment then disappeared.  On redial I received a message that the number was not in service.

KEEPS CALLING & LEAVES NO MESSAGE.

Received a call at 5:50 p.m. on Thursday, July 2.  Four rings and then stopped.  Caller ID just said PHOENIX, AZ, 623-742-3888.  I'm on the National Do Not Call list and never answered because I know no one in Phoenix who would be calling me.

just got a call from this number, and I hung up on them before anything happened. If I don't know who they are, I don't like answering anymore. Too many scams going on.

Yet another telemarketer/scammer using forged caller ID. Here's how the call went:

Them: "Hi.. this is blahblah calling from the Phoenix Police Athletic Club. How are you?"
Me: "What do you want?"
Them: "Not your attitude." Click.

I have no reason to be polite to callers when they don't know who I am or how I am doing already. This is no different. He likely surmised that I was not in the mood to give away money (what a shock) and hung up to start making his next call.

Hint telemarketers: If you want money try using a legitimate number instead of faking your caller ID.

Just got a call from him, but I fell for it!  He said he was from PAL league, asking for donation.  Gave him my address to send info?

Received a call from this number this evening, someone tried to say something and someone in the background said for the first person to hang up repeatedly. Very strange.

These automated calls or what ever they are, sure do get annoying. I wonder if it is something to get info on your number or what.

Who do we need to get a hold of to report things such as this?

Male caller asked for my husband by full name.  He said his name was Ray.  When my husband answered the caller hung up.  We have received two additional calls from the number.  The first was a hang up and the second we have ignored.  When we call back, we get an electonic noise that says the number is no longer in service.

I live in a different state from this area code. Guy name "Jay" called, asked for female relative who lives in my residence. Told him she wasn't available, he said he would call back. Tried calling his number back with a response of "mailbox full".  Father is with FBI and name has been turned over for tracing.

Did not say who he was and WOULD NOT say who he was until I verified who I was.  I told him he had the wrong number and he asked who I was.  I told him it was none of his business

I got this call and they said it was the Chandler Athletic Police?

Caller said it was from phoenix police department, he wanted some donation for the community, when I said i was not able to donate any money, he hang up before i was able to finish the sentence.  I really think this are scams to get money out of people and the person who called me didn't even speak english.

Caller did not leave a message and hung up after three rings.

I just got the call about 20 minutes ago.  When I said hello, there was just silence and then it sounded like someone hung up.

Just got a call from "Unknown name" from 623-742-3888. When I answered there was nobody there, and I heard electronic background noise. After I hung up, it took two minutes for me to get a dial tone.

My guess is that this is an automated calling system that is compiling a list of active phone numbers.
