I got a job proposal from a "Secret Shopper" company sent to my e-mail and I inquired about it, and got the job. I was sent a check from an unknown company (not Best Mark, Inc) which these people claimed to be, and was sent e-mail instructions to transfer the money after doing a "Wal*Mart" evaluation/review, and they seem really shady and cryptic, and I feel as though this is a money laundering scam, and they won't stop calling/texting and harassing me. I have spoken to my lawyer, and he has advised me to no longer take part in what I thought was a "legit part-time job opportunity", and have no part in the transaction of funds. I did what I was "assigned" to do, and did my evaluation and forwardrd the money as told, but now they want me to go back and do different things, and I feel it is suspicious activity and am no longer answering their calls/texts, and not working with or associating with their "company". The first red flag was the day I signed up, my e-mail was hacked into and I lost a lot of personal and working files, e-mails, contacts, and so on. Maybe that was a coincidence, and perhaps these people are for real, but they are really shady and their english is not very good at all. It makes their texts and messages hard to understand, and what business uses text messages to direct and instruct their employees, and where is my independent contractor contract and when I asked for their business ID and some sort of formal paperwork, they ignored the request and left me alone for a day, but are now harassing me to no end to follow through with more of the "assignment" that was not a part of it originally, and I just feel that this is not legit and do NOT want to take part in any illegal activity. I was looking for an honest, side-job where I could earn some extra money...not to get caught up in a scam or illegal operation. If you work or correspond with "Mark" from this number, proceed with caution and use your best judgement.
