I got a call from someone tellingme to.call ronnie cooper about a lawsuit against me. They wanted to know if i had an attorney. I was told to call ronnie cooper at 916 287 3815. Of course they couldn't tell me.what.charges wherr against me and when was the charges filled. They was tryna get sum money out of me but i refused. He knew some personal info about me and threatened to send the police to my house after i refused to pay the amount of money they wanted from me. He had the nerve to hang up on me after i refused to pay. The two people i talked to.both had a string accent. One claimed to be a paralegal and the other claimed to be the attorney

direct your employer a nd family members to this website and the links down the right hand side, and:

http://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/paydayloanscam_120710 where the FBI calls it what it is; extortion.  This scam has been going around for years, and quite honestly, I'm surprised anyone still falls for it.   Mental sticky:  One's SSN is not "blacklisted".  That is someone from out of this country trying to make something sound really bad.  As they are from out of the country, there isn't a lot that can be done on this end.   Believe me, this person does not care if you lose your job; they will continue as long as they think there is even a hint of getting some money extorted from you.

Depending on how willing your employer is to make this stop, perhaps your employer could call, id themselves as such, and say that they have reported the calls as noted in the FBI press release, to the local law enforcement, and that these losers are not to call the number again, for anyone.  Once they mouth off to one of your supervisors (and you can pretty well guess that they will) then the lightbulb will go on.   Hopefully,  this will end you as a target.

i received the same calls all day long, ITS A SCAM! They told me I had 6 records showing all kinds of fraud.  I was asked to go to walmart or walgreens and get two money packs one for $500 and the other for $289.66, then I was to call back and give them the numbers, as I found out you cant trace these kind of cards. PLEASE WHATEVER YOU DO , DO NOT SEND THEM ANYTHING OR GIVE THEM ANY KIND OF INFORMATION, REPORT THEM.  ITS A HORRIBLE SCAM THESE INDIA SPEAKING PEOPLE ARE DOING.

Scammers. Do not verify information, do not give in to them on any of their threats. Do not give them any money. they run multiple scams including

Claiming to be law firms
Claiming to be debt collectors
Claiming to be a loan lender
Claiming you are receiving a grant
Claiming they are Tech support and you have viruses on your computer
Claiming you are being sued for fraudulent activities and that they are government officials or police.

and many others..

They will have multiple numbers due to SPOOFING their numbers. Some of the numbers might even be the victims numbers they are stealing. They use india cell phones linked to United States numbers, magic jack, skype, google talk, etc.. to look like they are in the United States. Even though they got our information sold to them and hacked from the United States, the callers themselves are not part of the US. This is why they are hard to trace and our laws do not pertain to them.

Same story as everyone else! I'm going to jail for bank fraud, they will stop by SS check, etc.HOWEVER, THEY GOT MY BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER. THEY DEPOSITED 3 CENTS IN THE ACCOUNT TO MAKE SURE, AND THEN TOOK IT BACK OUT. I had to go to the bank and have a hold/do not process on someone called PMT, but they could change their ACH number - soooo. I had to close my account, get new checks and a new debit card to stop these bas**ds. Could not have hit at a worst time. I need to pay my bills that are due on or around the 1st of the month. I filed a complaint with the FBI and the county sheriff. This is definitely ASSOCIATED WITH ONLINE LOANS. They withdraw $30 from your account a few days after you get the loan, even if you don't accept the money - see www.scambook.com.
I know that India is poor, and jobs are hard to find, and that the $30 is probably their whole month salary, but it is also taking food out of my mouth. When they call THEY SAY THAT THEY LOANED ME MONEY AND THEY WANT IT BACK.

Tha's mainly where they are getting their information is from online loans. Bad thing is that it also gives them your bank account number.

"Once they realize you are on to them they will stop calling."

Nope they do not stop calling even when you are on to them. They continue to harass. They do not care if you are on to them or not.  They know i will not give them money or info but they continue to taunt and harass my cell phone and my workplace. I have changed numbers 3 times and they have gotten it 3 times. Now i just laugh at them, record them, and expose them online youtube and the net.

Last month, I got a call on my cell phone, sounds like the same guy heavy accent......threatening that I was going to picked up and taken to jail because of a case against me.  And if I was aware?...he said there's a case at the courthouse that I was being sued.  I asked where the case was filed at and what the case number was....I was then transferred and hung up on.  Thats how I knew it was a scam.   Now this morning I get a call again, this time they called my work number...now claming to be "Officer Jack Thompson"  saying calling to verify my social security number and information, that there is a case against me, and if I was aware.   Right away, I told him to stop calling that he was a scam and just hung up.   I also told him that I would report his number to my employer for harassment.

Got three calls in a row this morning, all prior to 8 am, which screamed scam.  I didn't pick up because I didn't recognize the number.  I listened to the voicemail and a guy with a thick accent (so thick I had a hard time understanding) said something about a lawsuit and needing my lawyers information.  I ignored the message because I know that if I were really being sued, I would have been served with papers.  However, an hour later they call my direct line at work.  Same guy telling me I have a lawsuit against me and needs my lawyers info.  When I say I don't have one he says "Oh my God" in a poorly executed surprised tone.  Oh, and I can hear all the other people in the background.  Obvious it is a script and he is in a call center.  I play along and call this Ronnie Cooper, and I get another guy who says he needs my info in order to connect me.  I give him my name (they already had that).  He says he needs my zip because he cant find me in the system.  "Funny," I say,"I can hear the guy who just called me in the background, so you obviously have my info."  He kept demanding my zip code, telling me it isnt confidential.  He claimed they already had all my info, so I just needed to confirm it (funny - didnt he just say he didnt have my info).  I challenged him to read me my full SSN. He got irate and was demanding my zip, I told him he was a scam and hung up.
These people might have bits of your info (like the last 4 of your SSN) - but never EVER supply them with any more.  Never give them your zip, full ssn, address, dob anything.  It doesn't matter how official they claim to be (they said they were with some superior court in california).
But you can have fun messing with them.  Know its a scam and give them a hard time. Then hang up.

DO NOT give this people any of your information or confirm any information they tell you they have.  It is a SCAM!!  I was contacted by this number 626-384-3258 numerous times by a man named Alex Rico.  He had a very heavy accent telling me I was going to be arrested and that he would be sending a sheriff to my work to arrest me.  That I had taken out a payday loan online and when they tried to get the money debited from my account it was denied.  He asked for my lawyers number and when I refused to verify any information he got angry, I mean violently angry, and told me to be prepared to lose my job  and have my ss# frozen after that he hung up on me.  You cannot reach the number it is fake!  Call 8003865438 immediately and file a report.  Do Not give them any money or information.

OMG this happened to me today and freaked me out!!  I got a message from a Jack Thompson saying the same thing--my retained attorney or I need to call ASAP about a legal matter.  I couldn't understand much of the message but that's what I gathered.  I called back and got Rolley Cooper and he went into how I have three charges pending against me and the sherriffs are coming up to my job and I'm going to be arrested and they'll have me fired.  He also said they are going to blacklist my social security number and have my DL cancelled.  He said I had to pay 2999.99 today or I am going to jail.  So, terrified, I called a close friend of mine who works in a legal office and she told me to call him back and say my attorney wants to know what county the charges were filed in.  I did, and he said the charges were on hold because I said I would pay the money.  I previously worked for a police department, and having entered warrants before I can tell you that they take several days to process and there is NO WAY to get sherriffs anywhere instantly.  Long story short, SCAM.  I don't know that filing a police report will help, though.  These guys sound like they're somewhere in India and it's a bit outside of the US jurisdiction.
