1-626-6677722 keeps calling me almost every day. I know it's a fake number after I dial back. Must be a telemarketing call. Annoying and making me upset.

Easy. Call your telephone service provider and have them block the number. Or if you have Verizon FIOS you can go on line to their website to your Account. Scroll down until you find manage call services. there is a space you can put in numbers that you want blocked. No charge for that.

I see there have been no recent posts on this # but they have been calling and leaving no message so they are up and running again.

I usually don't pick up but did this time. The woman had my name and said she was calling from California Design Center and had talked to me in April about doing.... I interrupted her to say it wasn't me and hung up. I wasn't raised to hang up on people but these people are so intrusive. Fortunately I have a phone that can block 30 calls. When it fills up I go back and erase the earliest ones blocked to make room for the new ones I have to block, hoping they have given up on my number. Sigh.

Caller ID said "Unknown name". I received calls previously from this number on 09/10/2012 at 10:41 AM and on 09/14/2012 at 9:30 AM, with the company identified as CBC Construction.

For fun, here is a site to get recorded phone messages to download to your computer, and then play when a telemarketer calls. For example, the message will tell them that their phone has been disconnected, or that they will be charged $1.50 for tracing a call, or that your phone automatically rejects anonymous calls.

Today I didn't pick up having learned this was a scammer, gypsy whatever. Now he yells Hello so my answering machine takes the message and I am forced to retrieve and delete. I don't pick up but I recognized this voice. Different number a few weeks ago. Previously stated my name very exhuberantly as if he were a friend. I unfortunately responded thinking it was someone else with a yes, then he just hung up. I realized I had been marked and now they call, and call but I don't pick up.
First I will register a complaint, http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
Next I am switching my land line to YouMail to start marking and blocking unknown caller #'s. Caller ID and blocking does not work well from Verizon. I have clients who call, are blocked or told to unblock, they don't get me, they give up and call the next freelancer and I lose work. YouMail works on my phone because I can be specific as to who gets through and who gets ditched. I have no clue what this guy is selling and don't care.

They called again! YEA!
Their call was blocked.
Everyone calm down - quit bitching - buy a call blocking phone.
Uniden and Panasonic make great call blocking phones - with at least one wireless handset.
It really is that simple.

This number called me and then hung up when I let it go to my answering machine. I've decided on all of these "we want to give you an estimate" calls (and I get several a day all from different numbers) I'm going to start to book appointments for everyone all at the same time and then when they all get here tell them I have no idea why they are here. If enough of them realize they are wasting time maybe it will change. This response is not for the timid and I would only suggest it for those who have a strong personality.

They called again and again, their call was blocked.
The ONLY way to stop these aszholes is to buy a call blocking phone.
Call blocking phones cost about $60.00 and they come with at least one wireless handset.
Priceless!

They have been calling our house for many weeks and many times at bad hours but no one talks?!?!?! How do I get them to stop...
| We Prosecute Scumbags 2012-10-03 21:51:08 Unknown |
To all who get these calls --
Just schedule their "roofer" or whatever the heck they're selling, to come out for an "estimate."
When that happens, you can get the business card, the business name, and from that get an address to which to send the bill for telemarketing violations (US government says minimum of $500 per violation, a single call can contain several, and after the second call you have right of private action). They will of course ignore your bill. After a reasonable time to pay the bill, you sue in small claims. But the key is, you have to get a legit address. Be friendly, act interested, do what you have to to get a card, a letterhead, whatever it takes.
Just don't let them into your house -- it could be a scam to case the place for a later burglary. Do all your talking outside, like in front of the garage.
This works with scammers who have to physically show up to scam you --roofers, home improvement, remodeling contractors. There's not much you can do about the "reduce your credit card interest" scammers, they're out of state.
Also, having them come out wastes their time and gasoline. If everybody scheduled an appointment, this business model would collapse.

Just to clarify, I have Verizon FIOS telephone service, that was not the company that called me. The person and the company that called is unknown.

I get the same number calling me 12:45, almost every day. A woman asks for me by name. I assume that was because they got my voice mail, so I changed that recording. This time I told the woman there was no one here by that name and she hung up. Usually she is talking to someone else so I assume she is calling from her home. I am registered with do not call. How can I get this to stop?
