I received another call from this # and have been searching for the name of the responsible party to no avail.  

I will keep searching.

No message left.  I didn't pick up but my caller id said "Card Scam Credit".

THEY CALLED ME LAST NIGHT I BLEW THEM OFF AND DID NOT ANSWER.

Yeah, after the recorded message I hung up b/c strangers don't know my business and I have no credit. So if they were smart, they would make a fake name up first. It is raining stupid people already this year. *sigh!

I am on a natl. do not call list and get calls from this  number. As a bus driver I do not need these calls coming to  my phone.

So I almost got scammed today. Got a call from an unknown number (626-668-8217) claiming they could lower my interest rate. So, I'm thinking, "Sweet!" Then the guy lists off a bunch of possible cards that I might be carrying a balance on (this is weird). Then he asks to confirm my account information starting with the expiration date. No problem there. Then, to confirm the account, please read me your 16 digit account number. Now the bells in my head are a three alarm fire. So I hung up on him. Then he calls back from a completely different number (253-236-2220), "Why did you hang up on me?" Now I'm pissed, "Because you're a scam, I'm already on the federal do not call list." And he hung up as soon as I said the word scam. Now my BP is all jacked up.

So I called my bank and she reiterated what I already knew. "Sir, we will only ask for the last four of your account number and the last four of your SSN. We have all that info. Also, we can't lower your interest rate because it's fixed at the rate we determined when you were approved for the card. Good job not giving out your info over the phone."

Just a hang up call - no message.

I called the number back and it said if not interested in their promotions, press 1 and they will place you on their do not call list; it takes up to 72 hours their message said to take effect.

Same here; callerid said CARD SCAM CREDIT.  Wierd, why would you want your caller id to display that?

Just got a call from 626-668-8217.  The Caller ID shows CARD SCAM CREDI.  I have received calls before and this is the first time this ID has come up... kind of odd, don't you guys think?

fruadulent credit card scam, and I am on the fedral do not call list

Receiving calls from this number (626-668-8217),  Unsolicited and a robo call.  My cell number (757-880-5914) is on a no call list, yet I still am getting calls.  And, when you try to call the number, the line/circuit is busy.  Nuisance

just received a call from this # 15mins ago here in Indiana (but did not answer) & am curious where the people getting these calls are located, since atm there are a few posts today from only a few mins ago...

I sent an email to the Commissioners in the state of California where the number is listed to be a land line

Did not know the number so I did not answer. They left no message.

Yeah...except the calls we receive in the general public show caller ID info, which is not guaranteed.  I'd be willing to bet that most of the phishing calls I get are either spoofing fake/nonexistent numbers, or who knows, maybe the scammers decided to display the phone number of an ex that they're angry at and that they want to get in trouble.  It's useful to post for others to see that xxx-xxx-xxxx is a scam call since these caller ID numbers stay the same for a while, but it doesn't help the FCC track them down.  The FCC would need access to each of our phone records with a flagged call time to have a chance to see where the call is really coming from, and I'm fairly certain they can't dig through our records without explicit consent (or life/death exigent circumstances).  Unfortunately, scammers have the resources to make our caller ID info virtually useless to investigators.  I'd blame the phone companies more than anyone: Caller ID should be designed to be accurate (or just plain "blocked", so that we could just blacklist those calls) and that would solve a lot of issues.

I got 2 missed calls from this number.I would have answered but i was in school. nd im only 14 and they don't allow us to have our phones on us if we do they will take the phone awasy and we won't get our phone back until the end of the scgool year

This  was a prerecorded  call fro m a credit card company stating they can get me lower rates on my credit card. I am tired of these unsolicited calls.

Got a cal today. Don't answer calls from #'s I don't recognize.

I have found that for most of these calls, if you call them right back, you get a recording Thanking You for calling back, they tell you it is a marketing call and if you want to be put on "THERE" Do Not Call List, Press one! Automated message then says Thank You. It has cut down a lot of these calls for me. I also add them to my cell phone contacts as SPAM, so if they call again I know there just pests. I think they just go out and get another number though.
