It's scammers. I've been getting calls from numerous number the past few weeks from people like this. After the first one I quit answering numbers that I don't recognize. From what i've read on other sites, they'll act like they're with some Federal Agency like the DEA, ATF, etc. and threaten you with arrest unless you send them money for fines. Usually $5,000.00 from what i've read.
My grandmother got a similar call about 2 months ago & she called the police. When they called her back the police officer was still there and she put him on the phone with the scammers. As soon as he identified himself...click, they hung up, lol.
It looks like i'm going to have to end up changing my number because it's really starting to get annoying because they'll call all times of the day & night and even on Sundays. I'd love to know where these pricks live.

Left a message claiming he was Gregory Martinez but mumbled who he was associated with and also said my uncomplicated name incorrectly. I deleted the message after looking the number up here.

I also just got this call and he threatened to have me arrested.  He told me that an officer was waiting outside of my door ready to pick me up and I could go to jail for 3 years.  He didn't get the chance to ask me for money because I told him to go ahead and advise the officer to arrest me.  He also encouraged me to google him and I noticed that the name is for ATF and not DEA as he stated.  I decided to notify the real Stephen C. Herkins and reported him to the office.  I gave them the phone number and they told me that it was a fraudulent call.  I hope that no one falls for this awful trick!

I just got the same call! Thank you so much for your post. this guy actually scared me because I did order perscription medication online years ago because I was too sick to make it the doctor. He said they were prosecuting for the dominican republic and I would spend time in jail there as well as in the united states unless I paid. When I took down the info it was a western union in a vons!!!!  I wanted to authenticate that I was talking to a real DEA AGENT and that pissed him off. HE wanted me to call him every half hour and not to talk to anyone else about that matter. IT actually scared me. thank you soooo much for your post.!!!!!!

PS/ they also made many other threats - freaked me out pretty bad at first - then I mentioned a lawyer and he sure didn't want to go there!  So, then I calmed down.  Just kept making notes of it all.  I have it all in detail if anyone needs to know.  I am going to write about this all over the place!

Threatening to arrest me and put me in jail for 3 YEARS for something I never did and also - I felt it REALLY suspecious that it was a phonecall in the first place and not cops at the door you know.  They just don't operate that way.

Stay AWAY from these men; they are tricky - they WILL try to scare you...and they are a threat to us all.

too had a similar call this morning, was from a " Stephen c. Herkins" with the "DEA", Hispanic guy, actually tried to be three different people, herkins, Gregory Martinez and Gordon Taylor from district 97, the number was 62-768-2537, it's a cell phone line in Pasadena Ca, Herkins, Marinez and Gordon are names of real federal officers (google is your friend, even for these scum bags it turns out), where he messed up is the Herkins is an ATF agent not DEA, I was told that I was being charged with drug traffiking from an online pharamcy order I made three years ago and that they had been investigating this for three years, but if I just paid $5000 fine my money gram to this address in the Dominican Republic all charges would be dropped against me., He also stated that I had a package in customs that would be obtained.  he actaully told me to google him and I told him that anyone could use google and he could say he was anyone, that seemed to upset him. I told him to give me the number he was calling from so I could see what my husband wanted to do (I was home alone, which made it worse) He gave me 45 minutes I called my husband which told me to tell him that I'd take my chances..lol  That really seemed to upset "Mr. Herkins" when he called back..lol  He told me that local agents were standing by to arrest me. I called the police department and informed them, they said they had to warrant. lol   These jerks need to be taken down!!!!
