I called the number on Bank of America's website - 1.800.732.9194.  Their confirm that the number 626-817-7020 is belong to them, and I was transferred to the fraud prevention department, then they said nothing wrong with my account, they know nothing about the phone call to me.  Caller ID Spoofing?

This number is for the Bank of America, fraud department.  Don't believe me?  Cal the number on the back of your ATM card and ask them to check it out for you.   I did...and the representative assured me it's a phone number for the Bank of America, Pasadena call center

Oh NO it's not. My husband lost his wallet just before Christmas. Drivers license, ATM card and a $100 check from my mother that lives in Georgia. The day after Christmas she received a call from that number and was asked if she had put a stop payment on that check along with other questions about her account. It WAS NOT the bank, it was the thief that had her check. My mother made the check out for $100, the thief changed it to $600. Legitimate, BS who are you kidding?

This is a LEGITIMATE number.  It is from Bank of America Security Department.  I verified this number with a Bank of America representative.  It is usually in connection with fraudulent charges made on an individual's credit or debit card.

According to another site, it appears to be a scam using Bank of America name. One person reported the caller stated there was a problem with a deposit made into their account and asked for their account or social security number. Person reported he did not have a Bank of America account so he knew it was a scam.
