Received several missed calls from this number and when I called back, got a recording"...number not in service". Go figure!

I keep seeing calls from this number for the past two weeks. I never pick up the phone, but they keep calling back every few days. Very annoying! How do I get rid of them? I'm also annoyed that they somehow got my number.

I also pressed 1 to get an operator. Immediately got a female operator. I asked for a do-not-call list and she made an audible huff then hung up on me. That was enough poor treatment (war-dialing then a hangup!) to make me file an official complaint at:

Takes about 5 pages of forms (easy and quick).

i too received this call..waited to speak to a rep, got the name carpet care and with caller id, i had a number
i just filed a violation with the fcc for do not call violation

Area code '626' is in the San Gabriel Valley portion of Los Angeles, CA. They called my home, but did not leave a message.

An automated message from Dave the Carpet Cleaning guy. When I called the number, I received a message saying that the number is no longer in service. Watch out! It's got to be a scam...

7/11/2009 11:40am PST: received call from 626-997-5632. Automated recording about carpet cleaning services, I pressed "1" to speak to a live representative. They claimed to be "Carpet Care the Carpet Cleaning Company," to schedule a carpet cleaning. They refused to say what state they were registered in, where they were calling from, their actual phone number, or any other information. (They stated "I'm sorry, I'm not allowed to give out that information, we're a call center.)

This number was rregistered on my phone on7/10/2009. When I tried to call it back, there was a rercording that said theis number is no longer in service.
