What to do to stop the daily calls from 628-000-4862?

Been calling me for 6 months. NEVER leaves a message. I'm on the DO NOT CALL registry and use Privacy Manager. Possibly a Bill Collector, but we wouldn't know because we NEVER answer the phone unless we are 100% sure we know who it is.

I just got a call from that number too and I'm on the do not call list. Someone (recording) said 'hello' but then nothing.

These people are driving me nuts three to four times a day.Rachel calling. Who the hell is rachel?

I don't have aclue who these people are.

Caller hung-up when call went to voice mail. I have tried answering in the past when these scammers would call and identify themselves as as Rachel from Cardholder Services and as soon as I asked which credit card they were calling about, they hung-up immediately. These scam artists are trying to get people to give them their credit card information and bank information so they can steal your identity and drain your bank account. It would be great to do a "Reverse Scam" or "Sting Operation" on them if someone knew how to go about doing it. Maybe someone with a legal/law enforcement background could help out with this approach to stopping them...permanently. Maybe a stay for a few years at a federal correctional center would be welcome if their calls cross state lines. Maybe if someone they frequently call would consent to a temporary wiretap, the caller's true number & location could be identified for prosecution.

Person called 12:05 pm April 20.  They knew my name. I said I had not credit card debit.  They have called many times this year.  Kind of strange - - an exchange number of  000?

I answered and a male with an Indian type accent started into a sales pitch. I stopped him and stated that I was on the Indiana no-call list. He said that he was making an international call and that he did not have to obey no-call lists.

Received a call from this number. Left no message.

Just received a call from 628-000-4862 on cell phone.  I pressed 9 and "Ron" who sounded very American (i really don't think he was overseas) said he was with Account Services and asked if i'd like to lower my rates on credit card.  I said sure but i asked him if they were a part of the bank or credit card company.  He said they represent people to the card companies to lower rates.  I asked him where the corporate office was of "Account Services" and he said Florida after a pause.  Then he hung up.

These boozos call every now and then (sometimes from 375-000-6542) and it is always the same thing - scamming to get priviate info.  I wish I could report them but the 000 numbers keep coming up as invalid.

Called my cell phone at 11:08 AM EDT 5/4/11. Did not leave message. This is the second call I've received from this number.

Just got a call from 628-000-4862. Answered so I could tell them to stop calling.  Got the Rachel recording and pressed 9 to get live person to tell.  Same as already stated by others - "you came up list today that I qualified to have my interst rate lowered."  Asked for my "account number" so they could "verify" my "qualification" by what my balance is and not being over the limit.  Asked him to "give me the account number he was referring to and I would verify it for him".  He said no he just needed me to give to him so he could pull up and see if I am over my limit, yada yada yada ... so he could lower my rate today.  I said no, he said let me get supervisor.  I let him do so to see what he had to say.  He gave me "confidence line" on how "no one can do anything with just my account number".  Then why does he need it?????  Anyway, after listening to him try to convince me to trust them enough to give them my account numbers, I said no to him and take me off your list.  At that point I realized that he cut the call off after I said no with no Good Bye or anything.  How rude of him. LOL  Best few minutes I spent today.  Hope he was as frustrated as they make all the rest of us with their scam calls, but I sincerely doubt it.  For the record, I like others have stated, usually don't answer these numbers either.

Excluding the area code, no USA phone numbers start with 000 therefore this call is coming from an overseas country. "628" indicates they are calling from the Gabonese Republic in Africa, there is also a cell company in the United Kingdom that uses "628". So it is obviously a scam and the calls are coming either from England or Gabonese. Luckily I have a cell phone that I can instruct to ignore calls from these numbers, if they try to call again, they get rejected.

They've been calling me off and on for about the past 6 months, using several different numbers but always the same message. Yesterday I decided to hit the button and demand to be removed.  The guy's response was "wait wait wait you don't want to do that..." before I said "yes I do" and hung up.

Today they called again and I decided to ask politely how do you go about getting your name removed from their list.  The lady's response was to say, while laughing, "Funny part is, there is no call list" and hung up on me.

Definitely some sort of scam or shady business if you ask me.

Got a call from this number, and went to report on donotcall.gov.  Would not let me report due to the 628 area code and the 000 at the beginning of the number.

I want this phone number gone before it calls me, and calls me, and calls me!!! This always happens with stupid numbers and I want IT GONE NOWWWWW! 0:< !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Indiana has a strict do not call list.  You can register your phone numbers on the list.
You can report violators such as this one via the State's web site, and they can prosecute the business making the calls.

I think I know how these people are getting numbers.  For the first time EVER, I ordered something online using my debit card this morning.  Checked my bank balance and found an unknown charge for 3.88 on it from an entirely different source that was unknown to me.  Canceled the card and ordered another.  One hour later this number started calling me and I do not answer unknown numbers.  Seems curious that I did a debit transaction for the first time online and suddenly someone is calling me about lowering interest rates on my CC.....(read the above so I assume they were calling me for the same purpose).

Phone # 628-000-4862 keeps calling our house, they disconnect the call when the answering machine picks up on the 6th ring.  We are on the Indiana "no call list"; however, these people seem to think they don't have to abide by the "no call" list.
