If you can't call the number back it is not legit. I simply don't answer any call from numbers I don't know, if they are honest people, they will leave a message, if not, they can go way.  These calls are annoying when they interrupt those of us who use our phones for legitimate work. I look forward to a day when technology and law enforcement continue to improve catching these scammers and locking them up where they belong. I hope for that to happen.

We got one of those calls and we really are the American Cancer Fund. When we answered and gave our name the guy said "who?" we repeated our name and they hung up. We think it could be cancer fund of america as they engage in very obnoxous telemarketing tactics. DO NOT donate to a phone solicitor. That's our view. If you want to donate to charity, go to the charities website or send a charity a check. You can always check on the legitimacy of a charity via guidestar.org.

Me too.  Caller ID said Cancer Fund.

I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.  As stated above, not very professional of them.  Caller ID said "CANCER FUND."

I have no idea whether they are a legitimate charity or not but, if I had to guess, I'd say NOT.

At least leave a message with a "call back number".

If I am interested, I will call back and donate...If I am not interested, I will call back and ask to be removed...so they won't be wasting their time on me.

How many calls from them ....with no message left.... do I have to get before I can report them to the local police for telephone harassment?
