This company says it is Chadworth Adkins and Associates and is threatening to file a claim against me for a Providian credit card that they say I never paid.  I've had several calls and don't know what to do.  By the way, that credit card was paid off several years ago.

Wow . .Called again right after i typed the first one. I got ticked and said you have been calling all the time and it is the same thing. She said no it was never me. There were voices all over the background so i just said you are obviously a telemarketer and these calls are getting frustrating, I called the number back and just get a recorded message that the number has be hijacked . .She asked if I wanted to be placed on a do not call list and I said very much so, she said ok then hung up.

They have been calling about 2-5 times a day for almost a week to our number. Almost always a no answer. One time it was a lady asking about our merchant service. I argued with her for a few minutes and she said oh well I'll call back later, I said she didn't have to bother and she just laughed and said she would try again tomorrow.

Leaves no message calls once a day

I have been told this is a common trick among telemarketers and scammers. Perhaps your phone company or the authorities would get involved because of the fraud involved by displaying your number as their own. That might stop it.

I also continue to receive a number of phone calls with the same caller ID listed under Tina Trowbridge at the cardnet website. One of the responses is very interesting to say the least in that I am to believe someone can call and actually use another person's or business phone number for the caller ID. Spare me!!

Got a call from this number saying they were calling on behalf of my merchant account.  I hung up on them!

Thats the problem, they are not using our line they are just using our number in their caller ID.  I was able to get a couple calls back from other folks that have been getting a lot of call and actually spoke to someone.  They say they are with either Merchant Accounts or United States Bankcard.  The number to call them back is 866-912-8771 but I have not been able to get anyone to pick up when I call it.  Also, they seem to be calling from India.

That is all I have found out so far.

@Cardnet... I'm in Canada and I regularly get calls from your number.

If it is not you that is placing these calls, then check your phone bill. Do you have a lot of unexplained long distance calls?

If you do, then somehow your system is placing these calls or someone has hacked into your lines and is using them. Fix it!

If not, then there is a problem with your phone service provider. Switch!

I keep getting calls from them on my cell and I just let them go to vm and they never leave a message.  How I wish they would just go away!

It seems to be a salesperson's number on First Data Merchant Services.  Tina Trowbridge.  They have been calling me repeatedly trying to get me to switch my Debit Machine over to them.

keep getting calls from these asshats. id comes up cantera as the other says. let's see what happens when i call that number.

We are not making the calls.  If we were, our Voice Mail message on that extention would be a marketing message.  We have been unable to find out who is making the calls.  We are a very small organization with only 2 sales reps and we do zero telemarketing.  This is really hurting our business and we would love for that group to leave us alone.  Most of our business comes from referrals and this is killing us.

My apoligies to Bob Whilt.  I misread his post.  He is a victim just like the rest of us.  Cardnetco IS making these calls.  I was just so pissed of being woken up two days in a row by these clowns.

I just got the second call in two days and TALKED to a person who claimed to be a representative of Cardnetco and they were soliciting for "Merchant Services". (Credit Card Proccessing)
Personally, I think "Bob Whilt" is full of crap and it IS his company that is calling, trying to sucker up more business.  I talked to the rep and I have no doubt that she was working for them. These are not crank calls but are being placed by a professional telemarketing company.

Just got to bed after working all night and got woke up with this call.  I hope there is a special place in hell for these people who are doing this..... right beside my mother-in law.

Its not us.  We own that phone number but are not making the calls.  It has been very frustrating for our business and I am sure for all the folks getting the calls.

This is the second I've gotten a call from this number.  I answer but no one responds, and then it disconnects after a few seconds.

Receive daily calls.  When I answer - there's no one on the line.  Caller ID says Cantera Executive.

I just received a call this morning. If i don't know the number I check online. The website for 800 notes showed up as well as a website for First Data Independent Sales. The number comes from the Sales Department in which the company is involved in Merchant Services.

Why would I want an American Company when I am in Canada?
