Just block these calls. The do not call list puts you on an idiot list.

Got a call this morning, (Caller ID: unkbown name)  Caller with thick accent asked "May I speak to the owner of this telephone number"  I told him NO and hung up on him.  I am tired of all the phony scams that keep going around.

received calls from the number several times. 1st time i spoke with him - he told me he works for microsoft - in a aggressive way - i hung up. funny dude. (austria, europe)

My 86 year old mother has been woken up at 8am for the past two days by calls from this number.  It's a soft spoken woman. I checked the number on our caller ID and It said The Genuine Art, and when I called the number it was disconnected.  Go figure.

I was called by the same Indian guy two days in a row. I asked him what software company he was calling from and he gave me a different name on the second call. I told him that when he figured out where he was calling from he can call me back and then he hung up.

This number comes up as a valid number located on Hitchcock Ave. in Downers Grove IL. I called the number and got a fax machine. Well might have been a fax but there are some electronic devises out there that can send unwanted phone calls to different sounds or recordings. This one sounds like a prankster to me. But lets get everyone to call him back 24 hours a day 7 days a week. just dial *67 before the number to block your ID. Time for payback.

Just got a call from this number. Trying to sell something for Windows Computers.  I politely explained that this is a senior home and it's VERY difficult to get to the phone and would he please take us off their call list.  He said, "I can't do that."  When I asked him why not he said it wasn't his problem. When i told him that we don't even have a Windows based computer he started badgering me about why didn't I have a computer.  I asked him what the name of his company was and he said, "it's none of your business, it's not relevant", and then continued to badger me about "how stupid it was not to have a computer."   Dude, we have a Mac.

Now, I've always been polite to these callers and they're usually very polite and agree to take us off their call list. But this guy got me so riled up I yelled at him and cussed him out.  Now my blood pressure is up and I'm really pissed.

What kind of creeps are these?  Do they have no morality and manners at all?

Called me twice, as an IT consultant, I decided to mess with them an play along.  First time describing that I had a real virus and second telling them I had a Mac.  This of course about 30 minutes in the call, which seems to piss them off.

I told him I am going record our conversation, he hanged up on me.

Received a call from this clown at 0830 hrs, he ID'd himself as John from Windows Customer Service. Same drill, heavy Indian accent,sounds of sweatshop in the background.Advised him to bugger off and hung up. I see he called back at 2130 hrs from the Chicago area. Clearly these jerks make up for their lack of ability with persistence.You would have to be a trusting soul or under the influence to be shilled by this dolt.  # 630-690-2396

Thanks to CTV news in Toronto when  head this scam from Microsoft I hung up before they messed up my computer

I did just receive a call from this number. I didnt answer the call though. Im from Denmark (small country in Europe).

Just got a call from 630 690 2396. I picked up and all it said was goodbye but I tried calling back, rang twice, and it came over we cannot connect your call please call your customer service center but did anyone notice it is an answering machine? Last time I was harassed by the "Microsoft employees" was months ago when I had a few choice words for them waking me up at all hours. I don't even run Microsoft so I knew it was a scam.

Just got a call from this number.  Caller with heavy Indian accent wanted to speak to the owner of my business. I asked him what he was calling about  stated they were a web design firm.  From the lag time between my answers to him and his responses it was obvious that the call originated from outside the us despite the Wheaton IL id on the call.  I told him we were quite happy with our current web design firm thank you and terminated the call.

5 May 2013 - Scam's still going strong.  Just now had a phone call from this number - no speaking, just silence, then a hang up.  A few days ago we had a phone call from another number (listed as private) claiming to be from Windows Tech Support (or MicrosoftTech Support, whatever).  Firstly - there IS no Windows Tech Support - Windows is an OS, not a company!!  Next, I usually say "But I don't have a computer or the internet" and that gets rid of them.  Thirdly - the next time they call, I'm going to point out that there IS no Windows Tech Support and see where that takes me.

I received a call from this number at 11:56 PM! I was asleep at this moment, so I didn't answer. I'm from Canada ( Québec).

Just received a call from 630-690-2396. Clearly a scam - said they were calling about my computer. When I asked what do you mean he said - you do have a computer right? Heavy accent. I hung up. Called back literally less than 2 minutes later and it said I reached a non working number.

I'm based in the Netherlands (Europe) and am receiving calls from that same number every day. The first time I answered the phone and the guy, with a heavy Indian accent, was indeed claiming to be from Microsoft and told me I was in trouble with my Windows computers.  I told him to just stuff it, that he was not from Microsoft because MS would never call their customers just out of the blue and suggested him to find a real job. I still receive calls from that same number and all I do is pick up the Phone and say "hello". They just hang up after a minute or so and the next day it happens again. It's definitely a scam and they are using other numbers as well. Last week someone, probably from the same scam group, called and asked me if I have problems with my Windows PC. I told her that I don't own a Windows PC and only use LINUX PCs. I think that was outside the box and she just hang up.

I received a call this evening from 630-690-2396.  Heavy middle Eastern accent said that there was an urgent issue with Windows.  I immediately cut him off and told him that I knew it was a scam and to never call again.  The man then said, "Maam, can you please help me.  Can you just please give me $5.00?"  I responded with how pathetic I thought he was and gave him a few tips on how he could go make himself some money on the street if he was so desparate.  He then asked me if I had a daughter and said he wanted to f*** my daughter. He proceeded to tell me how much he wanted to f*** my daughter and then me.  I found it amusing how quickly the Windows scam line degenerated to wanting to f*** my daughter.  I repeatedly denied I had a daughter and then he made up the name Christina for my make believe daughter he wanted to "love". He ended up hanging up after another member of my household picked up an extension to listen in.

Got a call from male with Indian accent. I humored him for a while. Wanted me to run GVENTVWR on my computer. Instead I Googled that word which came back with "The Scam" being used by these people. He wanted me to read what was on my screen, so I read the scam report. He then changed his accent and was very upset telling me that he is going to do ...bad things to my mother and so on. He rambled on for a while until I hung up. I will be calling the Anti Fraud line, but they probably can't do anything since it's been going on for a while.

I received the call and was hung up on after 2 rings. I googled the number and am here. he must have a machine that calls many people at once speaking to the first answerer. what a dolt!

From the site http://www.xdd.org/ which tracks fake identities they list Borhen Messenkopf at 630-690-2396 as a known fake identity and list several stolen credit card numbers under his name. FYI.

Same deal - man with an accent (I'd say Eastern European, not Indian) called saying he was working for Microsoft and asking if unknown persons had been connecting to the internet through my connection. He knew my last name. I told him it sounded like a scam and hung up. I Googled the number 630-690-2396 and it is a number in Illinois registered to Borhen Messenkopf, 708 Kenilworth Avenue, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137-4347. Don't know if that's real.

I am also I have receive call from that Number but I didn't answer because I am sleeping that time so this is good for to refuse his call.

I got a call from this number on my cell phone several times; they never left any messages.

I got a call from this number today July 5 2012 same guy you speak of. He claimed to be shaw cable data department. Offering cheaper rates for services like Internet and telephone but then asked me to fax him a copy of my bill as soon as possible.  SCAM... I called shaw they are looking into this.
