I used to work for tai and associates in elgin.  It is against the law to solicit for money transactions over the phone which is why they ask for a pledge to promise sending money in. Also the law forbids telemarketers from leaving messages and they do not harrass people for money. Just because they ask a few times for a pledge of money does not mean they are harrassing. it's called selling. there is a reason why they pay people to do this job instead of having automated messages do it.  because a person can haggle over the phone for a pledge to donate.  a machine can't.  but it isn't harrassment.  they ask you 3 or 4 times, you can say no, they respect you're answer.  they do not intimidate people for their money, it is illegal and the calls are monitored. it is automatic termination from your job if you harrass people over the phone to get them to pledge donations. just because the calls to you might be annoying, does not within itself mean it is harrassment in any legal term whatsoever.i understand the annoyance myself of having telemarketers call, but it's just a job, someone has to do it. telemarketers have to deal with alot of crap over the phone from people when all they are doing is just doing the job they've been payed to do just like anyone else.

I used to work there. It doesn't matter if you're on a DNC list because its a non-profit charitable and tax deductible call. Get your panties out of a bunch.

I have received this call many times. It is a scam. Next time report it to police. Even though it said DuPage Co FOP on caller ID  It has NOTHING to do with  DuPage county Sheriff' office.
or get a whistle and blow it loudly  into the phone. (Cover your ears first)

I also received a all and then a pause. I heard breathing but then just a hang up.

These people call several times a week, but lleave no message. When I pick up, there is silence and then they hang up.

I'm on the no call list but that doesn't seem to mater

called ID showed DuPage County, didn't leave a message, when I called back, the line is always busy.  should be reported to DuPage County!!!

Reading your replies, it sounds like you're the one who doesn't know what you're talking about!  All these people have valid complaints being harassed by these jerk-offs.  The way you are picking on these people makes me think you must be one yourself, you clown!

Thank you, Robbie, for making this site readily available...made my complaint already!  One thing I have been told by a Police Chief...never give to Fraternal Order of Police over the phone, as they don't do this!

Got call from Dupage Co 630 749-1663.  Guy asks "is this D" I say yes, he hangs up.

I called them back, got fast busy signal.  I too am on DNC list.

That's ridiculous! That's basically the response I got though. So irritating!!

CSS stands for Community Sponsorship Services, it's where these calls originate, in Hoffman Estates IL located next to a 7-11 off Hassell rd.

630-749-1661: They called on Saturday, a recorded female voice said, "Please wait for the next available agent," then silence for 30 seconds until the connection was cut by them.

getting the same call from dupage co il. calls every nite.i will not answer phone, they will not leave a message. on the donotcalllist. they keep calling anyway.

Typical please hold for an operator, and then a disconnect. Obviously some lame solicitor who cannot afford to pay enough staff to handle the live calls they war dial.

The DNC list only applies to people selling you something. It DOES NOT apply to non-profit organizations such as the FOP. Do you homework people!!

I got this call, female voice "Please hold for next available agent".  As I was hanging up, I heard a female voice ask for me by first name.  I didn't stick around to reply.  I am also on the Do Not Call List.  I can't get unsolicited snail mail solitications to stop either.  ARRGGGHHH!

Received a call from 630-749-1661, looks like their using another number now being 1661 instead of 1663. Wanted a donation and kept getting me to say yes. Obviously a scam!! Said I would be receiving an envelope in the mail and please send the check back within two days. Be careful!!

They refuse to take your name off the calling list. I have called the DuPage County Sheriffs Office about them. They are some scummy bunch of fraternal order of police union men who try and intimidate older people into donating. Older people are terrified that if they refuse to donate, they will not have their house protected. etc etc. It is a despicable scam which is barely legal in the state of Illinois. How much of their money actually goes to the thing they say they are supporting. It gives police departments a very bad name!
