I hate scammers.

I agree. They are super annoying. Anyone found a way to get them to stop?

@ Is it just me: ...no, it's not just you. I think the same thing. It's annoying to have to read through a million posts searching for some idea of who the phone number belongs to.....But, if no one knows who they are then there would be no comments at all about it and that gets me now where either. At least this way we do know that this caller is annoying other people too.....just sayin' :)

THIS IS A SCAM. This is a version of the advance-fee-for-something scam where something is a grant, loan, lottery winnings, interest rate reduction, tax reduction, gift card, refund, doggie, cruise, vacation, free gas, etc., and the advance-fee is for tax, shipping, registration, insurance, secure handling, processing, etc. They may send you a fake check, may want your credit/debit card or bank account number,  or tell you to wire cash via Western Union, Moneygram, etc. They can put recurrent difficult-to-cancel monthly charges or a 1-time charge on your card or bank account, and sell account info to other criminals and you'll have to replace accounts altogether. Wired-cash is irretrievable - once it's picked up at the other end, it's untraceable and gone. If they want you to call them up for instructions, they may tell you not to discuss the wire with Western Union desk clerks but the real reason is WU clerks are familiar with these scams and will warn you not to wire the money. This number has been calling several times, while I was not present, and they do NOT leave voice mail messages. Doing an internet search, it is determined that is is originating from DOWNERS GROVE, IL., 60516. It seems like there are several telemarketing calls like that originate from that general area. The scams, frauds, stupidity, and goofiness is very prominent in this world, today. Most likely, those are some hucksters, making attempts at some of their gimmicks! The best thing is to NEVER answer them!

...or are the vast majority of these posts completely pointless? I guess it seems more like whining than giving any information. It just seems really weird that people post things like, "They called and I didn't answer"; or that the poster begs the board to "Please make them stop!". Frequently I also see a post that addresses the board as if IT was the company that has been calling them. "STOP CALLING ME!!!!" It's all sort of funny, but annoying at the same time.

They keep calling and they hang up as soon as I answer.  When I call them back they say it's for a Wal-Mart gift card and to press 1 to speak to a representative.  I pressed 1 so I could speak to someone to get on their do not call list and I got ANOTHER recording saying they just have to verify that I have a credit card.  When I pressed 0 to try to get an operator, a voice said "Goodbye," and disconnected me.

Holy s***, this number calls at least 5 times a day from 8am to 10pm!!!!!Always left a VM like winning a $20 giftcard...who the f*** is going to believe that...

Call me every day around the same time, but do not leave a VM.  I once think they left me a VM saying it is the IRS....

What really irks me is they call with these scams on my cell phone which means this comes out of my air time if I happen to pick up.

I just got a call saying it's IRS. Smh. Then same number calling saying I got a 20 dollar gift card.

I keep getting calls from numbers like this. Today I've been approved for a new flat screen or a laptop. Righttt.
