My call was from a Cara White from Bankers Life Ins. She had a very, thick & heavy accent.
Alt number is 631-209-6016.
Said it was a job opportunity in Happauge, it was not
Told her to remove me their list, and fyi that they were listed as a scam online

Posted my resume online job boards and received a call from a woman named Lucille Anderson. She said she represented Conseco Life Insurance and saw my resume online and was interested in conducting an interview, however, found out no such woman works nor exists at Conseco Insurance Company. Traced the phone number of 631-256-4024 and found an unlisted land line phone in North Sayville, New York belonging to a private residential house. What a complete scam this turned out to be.

Wanted to play it safe so I let Voicemail take care of it. Good thing I checked here, too, otherwise I would have fallen for it. I didn't spend four years getting an Accounting degree so I could work in the sales department of an insurance company.

Just received the same call from someone named Ellie. I am not calling back after reading all these reviews. I am not in sales either

Same story.
A voicemail from a woman with a heavy accent and unintelligible name. All I could make out was "bankers." I'm a creative services director and have NO CLUE why they think I'd make a good match for a sales/telemarketing position.
I guess they just want warm bodies to work on commission.

After receivinga phone call from a women with a very heavy accent she said her boss found my resume on careerbuilder and feels Like I would be a perfect fit for the company. NO THANKS! This is the letter I received after the call

I just got the same call with exactly what you just said. I could tell she was reading from a script . Doesn't seem right to read from a script to call people in for an interview

This is an insurance company. Bankers. The caller's name is Charlene.

This stinks! I just received the call from Arlene and googled the number to see which company I applied to and here you all are! I guess when I updated my resume I should not have made it public. I think I will change that now and just stick to sending it to the people I want to see it. Thanks everyone for your posts.

Cynthia 2011-06-06 17:12:40 Unknown
WOW..I am so disappointed. I just posted my resume the other day thought maybe someone saw it and thought it was so good they called my right away. Too bad its not a real position.

Just got a call this morning and I searched the number and found this page. Definitely not calling back! The best part is that I'm in the medical field lol. If I called back, would they really offer me a sales job and think that I would accept it?
Lina 2011-05-11 21:52:24 Unknown

Got call this morning from the same number and listened to the message. Arlene, with a strong accent, left the message. I Googled the phone number and saw this page. Knowing what it was, I deliberately called back and spoke with the girl who said her manager saw my resume on Monster and thought my experience and skills would make me a good fit for the company. I asked her what the position was and she said it was sales. I told her my resume says Paralegal, that my skill background is administrative, and asked what made her manager think my skills would make me a good sales person. She responded by saying that they thought I might be interested in other opportunities. I told her that, after spending $40K on a degree, I was not going into a sales position. I bid her goodbye and hung up on her. Amazing what companies will do to try to get people to work for them. Now I'm wondering if it's even worth it to keep my resume on Monster.

same here, they just left a voicemail they were intersted in resume...not calling back.
Thanks everyone.

I got the message- it was garbled had to listen several times to get the number. Tried looking up the number to see which company this was, no company listed.
If you can't identify the company through the phone # it is most likely a scam.
I agree, posting your resume to Career Builder or Monster can bring on the scammers. I am not calling back.
Tracy 2011-04-09 01:19:58 Unknown
Thanks for the info, I also got a voice message, looks like im not calling back either.
Mona 2011-04-01 15:28:51 Unknown
Got the same as all of you. Some heavily accented woman left me a message. It's a shame that when you are hoping for a call from a legitimate job you applied for that you have to get these calls (and e-mails too) that want to talk you into sales positions. I am an Adm Asst, not a sales person. Unfortunately, when you post your resume on all these job sites, you are prey for them to access your resume and contact you. I won't be calling back either.
Eric 2011-04-01 04:16:48 Unknown
Same here. She said she was from Bankers. (I recently updated my profile on Monster.com. My resume has not changed in years. I'm sure it was the profile change that triggered the call). I won't be calling back.
Vinnie 2011-03-03 17:34:01 Unknown
Woman said she was from Bankers and got my resume on Careerbuilder. Probably looking for sales agents.
FrankLI 2011-02-25 17:55:58 Unknown
I received a call from the above number. They left a fast talking message on both my cellular phone and home number. The only thing you can make out from the call was they were interested in my resume and there call back number. I am not sure how they obatined information on me but I never sent them my resume.
