Received a phone call from this number. The caller left no message.

I have gotten two from two of my friends saying to call Target. I had to check first. Nothing is free and I am not falling for that crap!

ok well my cuz told me to call his gmas # so i called what he said was her # and here it was the 631-403-2022 # so i have alltel amd i going to get charged wehn they sent me the text i sent back stop and it said like somthing how its done now theough

I got a text from a friend saying "Call this number if you want to score a $250 gift certificate from Best Buy. Call 631-403-2022, only 500 callers can get this so call right away."

Naturally I did the web investigating first and its hard to weed through all the B.S that people put up on interwebs about this number.  So here's the truth about it.  It's a prank which your friend has either told you about or texted to you.  They want to see if you are paying attention.  The recording:
"How to keep an idiot entertained" repeats over and over, I heard it once smiled and hung up.  I'm finding that others have held on for over a minute and recieved a different message saying "We've successfully kept an idiot entertained!"  

Someone should add this to the Wikipedia page started under "How to keep an idiot entertained"

I was told to call this number and used a land line number to do so- Will I be billed by ATT? At first I thought it was just an obnoxious prank- however everyone else seemed to be getting a laugh out of it... But I decided to look into it further online... Now I see that its been reported a scam- And I am fully prepared pursue all legal actions as necessary. I was not presented with  any information that would indicate any contractual obligation or agreement. It's not a wireless service I used to call it. I'm going to call ATT & make sure they are well informed of the situation.

WHO CALLED FROM THIS NUMBER?   HAD ANOTHER NUMBER OF 765-376-9983, STATED THAT NUMBER / PHONE WAS GOING DEAD.

I received a message to call this number. Something about a dead cell phone and needing to talk to me. It seemed kinda "iffy" but curiosity got the best of me... It states that this is "How to keep an idiot entertained". It's just a prank call thingy. Don't waste your minutes...unless you're easily entertained...  Lol

So, you call this number after getting the suspicious text and you hear this ramble about how to entertain an idiot - which I'm told is kinda amusing to some degree. What's not amusing is the fact that when you call it, it registers your phone number for a pay per month service that sends you one (1) text per month with the same message you originally recieved and unless you request to be taken off the list or have it removed by your carrier, guess what? Yup, you've been suckered for $9.99 per month -up front- that your carrier is not gonna waive no matter how upset you are about it cause YOU made the call. Don't text back to it either, that's just as bad. Don't believe me? Go ahead, try it. Call it, I dare ya. My buddy just dealt with this same crapola last month with Verizon.

My boss got a text saying the first 5000 callers for JC Penny's to get a $250. Gift card for Black Friday to call that #. 631-403-2022. Don't know if it was specifically for Co. area or what but, Deffinitely glad for this site.

I got the same message and I Google it first as well... I text my BNL back and told him this is crap I am not calling and he say your loss... Target wouldn't be giving away gift cards for Black Friday I am not stupid!!!!

Haha I just got the same text from a friends...saying they got a gift card...call & get yours so we can go shopping!! But I googled it 1st to see what it was.

I just got a text saying that Target is giving away a $500 gift card to the first 1000 callers.  I live in Indiana so I googled the number....good joke that my mom got me on. lol
