I have received several calls in the last couple months from several different numbers, but this one shows up most.  They identify themselves as being with the Microsoft Technical Department and that I have issues with my Windows Operating System and have been hacked.  #1 - the only computers I have that are Windows based are a laptop and a tablet with Windows 8 - I don't even use them and they aren't even connected to the internet AT ALL because I absolutely HATE Windows 8.  #2 - I have Apple computers and laptops and don't really use them because I get enough of the computer at work.  After the first call, I just get to the point when they start to say "Microsoft Tech......" and tell them not to call me again, this is a scam and "I don't even have a f****** Windows based computer in use".

Got a call from this number today, saying they we're getting reports of issues with my Microsoft account and that they needed to take control of my PC to fix.  At-least in their poor English that's what I could gather.  I made him repeat the name of his company multiple times, but it seemed he said something different each time and just ended up agreeing with what I said, even though it made no sense.  In the end, wish I could have punched him in his face...hate scammers!

Received three calls last night ~only answered one - said he was from Price Waterhouse in regards to a problem we are having with Sears.  Now I know it was a scammer - not Price Waterhouse.  Somehow he knew about the problems we were having - not sure how he did.  Said they would rectify the problem by sending $7000.00 with two days for necessary repairs - advised me to have an estimate done on the repairs and if it was more than the $7000.00, they would send the difference.  Asked me all kinds of personal questions.  At the end he said he needed my Visa or Mastercard number as this was the way they were going to send the money.  I asked about sending a check however he advised that they no longer do that due to company complaints.  I asked a second time about sending a check and he said to wait a moment and he would check with his manager.  When he got back on the line ~ I heard a dog bark in the background so obviously not working at Price Waterhouse.  When I advised him that we don't use credit cards - only debit - he asked if my husband had a credit card - I said no - then he had the nerve to ask if my kids had credit cards that they could send this money to - at that point red flags were going up all over - I advised him there is NO way I would ever give out their credit card numbers.  I think any numbers that start with 6 are all scams.......be aware everyone!

Caller claimed to be calling from "Windows", and when I said there is no Windows compnay, then changed to say Microsoft was the manufacturer and Windows was the service.  I told him that I work for McAfee (I don't anymore, but still useful), and asked him for his full name, address, and phone number.  He gave the following details:
Edward Williamson
(a garbled address in London)
44-20-3318-6372
Then he stated I should call him back to verify, and if I didn't he would cancel my Windows and lock me out of my computer.

I would list this type of call as Scam.

Started calling me yesterday and have called at least 15 times from mulitple phone numbers each time asking for "carol" and something about education.  Asked them to stop calling and just continue to do so. I am going to get a whistle and start blowing it in the phone once I identify it is them.  Then maybe they will stop

These scammers are relentless. I have been receiving calls from these pinheads for more than two years now. Insults will get them PO'd, but in a couple weeks they are back at it. Ironically, I have a cousin who works for Microsoft. These pinheads just don't take a hint. The phone number changes, but the line they use is always the same. We want to give you a refund of $180 dollars.

Whatever you do, DO NOT follow their directions. Instead, play along for a few minutes to waste their time, then tell them flatly, you will be reporting this call and any other calls to the FBI cybercrimes unit. Then hang up, they will call right back and try to insult you, just laugh and let it go. PLEASE, report these idiots to the authorities.

I just got a call from this number and the guy passed himself off as a representation from Microsoft and told me that our computer is at risk of hackers.  He asked me for our IP Address and License ID.  I told him that I have no proof he is who he said he is and and will not be providing the numbers and when he persisted I told him that he must have the numbers already as he's aware of our issue with hackers so asked him to give me the numbers and that I may or may not verify them.  So he rhymed off two numbers - one for IP Address and one for the License ID.  So I said well I guess you already have all the information you need and he directed me to verify the numbers and when I refused to do so he called me f------ c--- and a mother f-----.  I told him how impressed I was with his professoinalism and hung up.
