Prank Call
Well lookie lookie, I got a call too. In fact they tried calling me about 10 times on my cell yesterday and the day before, but I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number. Finally I answered and it was this guy called "Todd". He went on and on about how great their show is, the exposure we'd get (I do charity work for a Mission in Kenya, but I'm located in Montreal), bla bla bla... Unfortunately I've been scammed big time before (by the Cambridge Who's Who) so I instantly smelled a rat and asked him "How much ?" He said that usually it costs $5000 for a 30 minute interview but that "today" they had a special for $1000 and he immediately started asking for my credit card info. So I told him we are a charity and don't have the funds. I also asked him to email me legitimate info, which of course he hasn't. I hung up and that was that. SCAM SCAM SCAM! They do have a facebook page and in the ABOUT section all it says is that it's a "business person". I've reported the page as scam to Facebook. They called from several telephone numbers, which I've since deleted from my cell, except for one which they called on my home number: 631-589-6019

I was called by Spotlight radio.  They set up several appointments but never followed through.  I had agreed to a FREE 8 minute interview.  They finally called to do the interviews  I was not prepped for this although I was told I would be.  I was called minutes before the interview went live.  The person doing the interview was not particularly professional.  She even introduced me by another name..........Then  shortly afterwards I got a follow up call from the executive producer " a ms.anderson", older woman.   Telling me how wonderful I was and wanting me to do two 30 minute shows.  The conversation was lengthy.  I finally asked the cost and she said, "we will get to that in a moment".  I said I had a 12 oclock business meeting I had to make (and I did) . It was 11:30.  I told her I had to go.  She hung up.

I do not recall the number used to call me.

I was called over the last 2 weeks, non stop, boosting my ego. My salesperson was not Rhonda, but she was a very hard closer and I asked the same questions. She said all of the same benefits I would receive and what was my middle initial. I laughed and told her I was not interested. Then she started in on all the exposure I would receive for my business. It was pressure, pressure, pressure, NOW! We need your credit card because in the next few minutes someone else could come in front of me and take my place. I asked them if I was so terrific, how could I be replaced so quickly. She came up with some kind of b***s***. I just wanted her to leave me alone. Like an idiot I gave her a CC with the intent of disputing the charge. Now I've been charged for $1000, and I'm disputing the charges. I never received an invoice as well. My back and MasterCard are fighting this with me, and I will be calling the FTC and the FCC as well as the State Attorney General.

They called me, asked my profession....I'm a therapist.  Told me they were oh, so interested in my area of expertise (child sex abuse) and wanted to do an interview that would go on the radio...etc.  I, wanting to spread the word, did the 10 minute interview with Jessica, I think (Rhonda was familiar name, too). THEN, I got repeated calls about how 'dynamic" I was, etc., ., that they wanted to do a 30 minute show...and THEN came the costs, and the tickets, etc. I bowed out. Sorry, don't have that kind of money and I don't believe them anyway. Glad all you guys are reporting them

Thank you for your comment. I had the same type call on yesterday asking all of the similar questions you just described in your post. The caller glorified me also and how I would receive a plaque etc.. and about the trip for two anywhere and then he dropped the bomb when he asked for my credit card # I told him I've closed all of my credit card accounts trying to pay them off then he asked for my cking  account information because I shouldn't pass of the great packaged deal they could offer me for $2,500.00 I asked for his information and number and told him I would call him back. NOT GOING TO DO IT!!!!!!! I too am going to report them to the State Attorney's Office. Oh yes he (Raymond) asked if I wanted my middle initial on my plaque.
It is a disgrace and a shame how these people get a thrill out of scaming other people. I am on the phone  trying to contact the State Attorney's Office as I type my response to you. YES EVERYONE BE AWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received the same call.  She told me how wonderful I was and that I had wonderful credentials and they would like to interview me for internet radio with a million listeners.  I listened while she glorified me and my accomplishments.  I asked a question and it didn't throw her off her pitch at all.  They would do press releases to NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, and Fox.  There were 2 round trip air line tickets to destinations like....
I would be prepped by Amanda Lynn.  I would be interviewed by Jessica Stern or Marcus Edwards, both very professional and have had interviews with _____ and ___.  Neither person I recognized.  If she is going to lie she should at least pick someone I would recognize.  I almost forgot the crystal plaque.  "How would you like this engraved?  Do you have a middle initial?"  My BS meter was on from the beginning, but I wanted to keep her going.  Then I asked how much it was going to cost.  Two thousand for all the above and 2 half hour interviews.  I then suggested to the person that handles all of my advertising.  She DID NOT want to do that.  I am the one who "has to make the decision."  I insisted.  If she didn't want to talk to him, then I would run it by him.  She tried to prevent that also.  "I can give you the same 2 half hour interviews without the airline tickets for $1000.  I am loving this by now.  The she throws in the airline tickets like I would ever get them.  I asked for a guest pass to "SPOTLIGHT RADIO" so I could see their product.  That really threw her off.  Afraid she was losing me, she kept asking for my credit card number.  I told her she was too high pressure and I was not interested.  She had enough nerve to call back and offer it for $500!  I am calling the State's Attorney right after this.  STAY AWAY!

Got a call from a so-called "radio talk show", a woman who gave her name as Rhonda Adams.  Wanted to know about my profession so I could be a "guest". After about 5 minutes of questioning on her part, I asked if there was a cost involved, and of course there was!  So I hung up on her. Beware!  I've had this type of call in the past. Not legit!
