That is the exact same message I received. You would think they would be a little smarter than that. Or not !

Just received a text from layvafreedy wanting to use paypal to buy the truck I have listed on recycler.com. Seemed a little fishy to me so I told them they can bring me a cashiers check because I don't do paypal. Last I heard from the scammer.LOL The phone # was 775-863-8514. Watch your back people !

Yup... this person just contacted me about an ad I posted to sell a set of wheels. This idiot kept texting about buying my 2005 Mini Cooper, when it was only the wheels that were for sale. I got the same crap about posting funds in my PayPal account and that they needed help with paying the pickup agent through Western Union with $699 and $100 for the WU fees. They sent an embedded image email they have from PayPal saying they posted an instant deposit. They said if I don't want to go through with the deal to just transfer back the funds from PayPal. It's really hard to believe that some people make a living ripping people off. It's almost like the world if full of politicians.

Received a text from 702-747-2286. Seems to be the same text everyone else recd from Layva Freedy, same paypal email, same offer. Glad I googled her! Thanks everybody! :)

I just got the same thing with a scammer named Lavya Freedy who wanted to purchase a piece of furniture out of Charlotte NC. Told him I could use my Square and his credit card. Later, after talking to people at paypal, (who told me only to give him my email address to pay me through pay pal) that this was safe, so I texted back that pay pal was fine.  Then came the questions about attaching shipping costs.  BEWARE.

Listed a car on craigslist and 30 min later got a text, that somebody wants to buy the car and pay via PayPal:

This is obviously a fraud. Did not get any answer back after asking the guy whether he doesn't want to take a look at the car first.

Layva Freedy - I was contacted with the same exact text message. It seemed fishy, so I Google the name and seen all these posts and comments about the same exact thing. Thank God I didn't proceed with anything else. People are so scandalous!!

i just had the same thing happen, twice. once from a John Smith, once from a Layva Freedy. the first time, John tried to pull the paypal deal with me and i told him to call my husband and coordinate payment and pick up of a piece of furniture (craigslist ad), and he suddenly dropped off the planet. the second time, Layva Freedy went so far as to give specific instructions and send me fraudulent emails from "paypal" requesting that i send $1200 to a mover service via western union before my funds through paypal were released. i called paypal, reported the fraud and sent the emails to their fraud service.

I just got the same scam from Layva Freedy. New number though.

I got the same email after posting my wedding ring on Craigslist. I hate scammers!

I play the game with them. saying they sent me money for my car. which is a lied.. they gave me their address.. come look for them if they rip you off.

These craigslist scammers also operated under this ph#: 352-234-3791 but seem to change the number frequently. Here is my experience. I had listed a piece of furniture on Craigslist. Received this text (all spelling errors are original): My name is Layva Freedy. I am pleased with the price so I would love to pay you via PayPal. the PayPal charges is on me.  with your Paypal email and your name or send me an invoice LAYVA@YAHOO.COM so I can pay you right away, I would arrange pick up. If my offer is accepted. Get back to me. after payment is received confirm the sales to me by removing it from post.
I texted back that I am sorry but that their information is flagged as a Craigslist scam and did not hear from them again. Thanks to other posters on this list, I could confirm my suspicions that this was a scam. I love the 800notes!
