Scam Alert!!!
The Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) has received several phone calls from persons who have been contacted by people representing themselves as staff members of BCI and are demanding that funds be sent to cover overdue fees for a variety of reasons.  Many have been told that they will be sent a subpoena if they do not comply with the demand to send the funds.  The phone calls originate from area codes outside the state of Utah.  The numbers have been masked to reflect that they are from the United States when in reality they are in countries outside the U.S.

Please be aware that BCI does not collect fees via telephone calls.

If you receive a phone call from people indicating they are associated with the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification, please do not send the funds requested as this is a scam.  Many times the caller will have correct personal information about the person they are calling and it will seem to be a legitimate request.  It is recommended that you request an alert be placed on your Social Security Number (SSN) with the credit bureaus and that you close current bank accounts and open new account numbers to protect yourself. You may also want to contact your local phone provider and report these calls as 'harassing' calls.

The federal government also has a website (www.ftc.gov) that contains very useful information for incidents of identity theft or potential identity theft.

Some East Indian lady called me from 508-202-7205 which sounded like a call center.  The schtick I got was that she was calling for an attorney and there is a lawsuit in my state against me.  I submitted a complaint to the FTC yesterday and will update it with the last voicemail I received today.  I agree that these people need to get a real job.

this person kept calling me the other day...saying i was gonna go to jail and the fbi was after me to....they really got to me i was soooooooo mad...its just crazy that they are trying like this and clam to know who u are....its not real..they said that i had a loan and need to pay them their money, i never even had a loan and dont have a bank account...wow...they called me back and said that he fbi will be to get me in 1 hour...well it has been past 1 hour still no police....this is unbelieveable....and yes he did say his name was John Foster saying I was under investigation.....my aunt has also recevied a call from them........the last time i spoke with "John" i told to have a bless day in JESUS CHRIST name....he got upset and said that i was going to be behind bars.......smh

Who  is to say this site is not rerouted back to these people! If it is lets see who goes to jail first us or yall cause we have you figures out!!!!

i got a call from this guy tonight myself and 2 weeks ago I got another call from a lady from the numbef 508-202-7205 told me the same thing that this guy did. The FBI will becalled tomorrow and I will take these guys down!!!!! Anyone want to climb on board just post it on here lets stop these lazy people who dont want to work!

For the past week I've been getting these same calls ^^^ and he has a strong accent, kind of hard to understand. I just want them to stop. I'm not worried about him "taking me to jail," but I am now worried about my personal info. and how he was able to get it. Any advice let me know. I still have the voice mails from him. I believe in each voicemail he uses a different name.

This is the second time I have gotten a call like this. I have not taken any pay day loans out. So I know that it is a scam. I just wish that there was something we could do to stop them. I have identity theft protection that will alert me if they try to do anything with my social security number. I would strongly suggest for everyone to get some type of identity theft protection. It really is a piece of mind. They get your information when you fill out things online. (i.e. information about college, loans, credit cards.ect) I think it is bull crap. And I will not fill anything out where I have to put my full social on the web.
Don't send these idiots any money. They need to get off their a***s and get a real job!

I've been getting the same calles but the guy goes by many different names.  Lately he likes David Smith or Mr. Anderson.   I am truly fed up and told him that the US has laws to protect people from harrassment and threats.   He started yelling at me and because I am so fed up with this whole thing i just talked right over him. at which point he hung up on me.   I called him back that advised if he didn't stop calling me I am contacting a lawyer to sue the pants off of whomever hired this company to threaten people.  I also am going to contact the BBB and Fed. Trade Commision and report this abuse.    This morning when I got to work he had left me another message on my work voice mail tellling me he was contacting my Supervisor and I am about to lose my job.  yeah right.

This Guy calls me multiple times through out the day stating that I am going to jail and that I need to all him immediately.   I know this is a scam and I called the guy back and told him it is against the Law to impersonate a Law Officer and that I am reporting this constent harrassment to the proper authorities.  I came into work this morning and he had the gall to leave a message on my voice mail at work telling me he is going to call my Supervisor and that I am going to lose my job.   As of today I am reporting this phone number to the Federal Trade Commisson in order to stop this insanity.  I also notice yesterday he was calling himself Dave Smith, this morning on my voice mail he is going by Mr. Anderson

I got this call today but I didn't pick up at first but two phone calls later after hearing the first message I got curious and picked up telling him he got the wrong guy when he threatened to arrest me and the person he was looking for I knew something was up because real investigators wouldn't make a large mistake like this I have a few voicemails if anyone wants to try and take these person down

This man with a foreign accent called me and said I owe money to a payday loan company. I don't so I knew he was a liar. He said that they were going to arrest me and sue me. Then I informed him that's not how the laws work. If it was a civil case, they don't arrest you for that. You have to go to court for that. These people are SCAMMERS. Do not let them bully you or make you afraid.

I've recieved a phone call today 5/07/2012 from an middle eastern accent telling me that he was or is from a state investigation agency telling me that I was in big trouble.  I couldn't understand what he was saying because of his accent.  I asked him for his name and he told me it was James Williams. I think I could of understood James Williams if he didn't have such a difficult Indian accent.  30 minutes ago another middle eastern man called me from the 631-615-4685 and told me his name was Will William and that he worked for a state investigation agency and that I was in alot of trouble.  He couldn't answer any of the questions I was asking him, who he worked for, a web-site, or his supervisors name. Like Paula reply to the phone calls from these morons, I ask Mr. Williams if I should help him call the local FBI office and let them know of the 631-615-4685 scam phone call.  I agree with Lissa and Paula.  It's a scam & don't give them any money &  don redurn de coll.

Strange call rude guy demanding I owe money and that they are coming to arrest me today! What a joke!

A man with a foriegn accent calls me and tells me not to ignore him.  That I owe money, and I will pay it.  Then I am given a message about an officer named Jean Parker, an it is an emergency that I call.  I looked up the area code it is used for Suffolk County in Eastern Long Island New York. I called the local police to tell them aout the scam.

Same thing here.  Calls at work and my cell demanding I had loans out and if I did not call them back I would be arrested.  Did my research online and found this was a scam just like everyone else has posted.  I did call them back and told them to go F themselves and put a block on my phone from that number.  The calls have stopped at work too.

Sorry to my employer, they have to put up with the calls and be polite.  Not me though.  If they really are the law I guess I can now be arrested for cursing out an officer... :o)

i had the same person/number call me he had my last 4 digit of my ss number, told me i fraud and owed money and that i was being arrest today. but the odd thing is the place they say i owe money to have nerver dealt with them. thais all started when i apply for a online loan. somthing needs to b done, how they get our info.

Had two messages from the number/ same guy, Officer Mike Johnson. Same scenario as everyone else's. Told him this sounded like a scam (plus none of the info he had was correct, thank goodness). He said "I'm going to get you and put you in jail".  Shook me up a little. Jerk!

I need to report these number because i been receving calls from it, Is a foreing man that asure get my all personal info, and is asking me by money that Im not own him.  please somebody do something.

I filed a complaint with the better business bureau and they have advised that this company does not exist at this address and they appear to be taking money from people proceed with caution

Someone from this number called me and told me I was a criminal and I was going to jail. They called my work number and I told them not to call here anymore and the guy told me he was going to call my work 100 times and he was going to speak to my supervisor about my illegal activity. I asked for a badge number and the county this investigator was registered in and he would not give me the information. I also asked what was the charge and he refused to give me any information. I will be filing a compaint with the BBB and contacting an attorney as this activity is harrassment and Illegal in my state.

i have received many call's and a few times it was for a different person not even my name and when i called back it was told to leave a message so i did and said who i was and that god did help me and told me that you people are trying to scam many so keep calling me so i can get your a## put away and so far haven't received any more call's

Got a call from them today a Steven Lee thick indian accent at first i talked to someon else then he said he would have to transfer me so i got steven lee who i asked for his badge number he stated 58471 (fake) he stated that my attorney needs to contact him if i want more information but that i needed to pay 324 bucks due to a cash advance that was deposited into my bank account. he knew my social but then i asked what bank? he wouldnt tell me so i asked do you think i should pay if i dont have a bank account whatsoever? no answer i asked him to send me legal documentation stating this fact he said he wont unless its paid i stated that that was illegal and he said it wasnt. he then procedded to tell me to send him a fax with my name and social i stoped him there and asked your an officer right? he said yes. and your from the state investigation? he said yes. and your asking me to fax you my social? he said its ok they do it all the time. i laughed and hung up on him

I received the same call. Did they have the last four of your SSN and your back information? They have all of my info and threaten to take me to jail if i didnt pay.

I received a call today from this number. I man with a foreign accent said that his name was Jay williams and that I owe 525 dollars for a payday loan. He threaten that if i didnt pay that i would be going to jail. He knew the last four numbers of my SSN and he knew my bank account information and where I am employed. He couldnt tell me exactly who was the payday loan company or when i took out the amount. Who are these people????

i recieved mutiple calls this morning saying i better give them a call back,i called him back he said he was officer Mike Johnson with an extremely thick indian accent.When i asked for a case number and where he was from he put me on hold and hung up. So i called the police and he stated it was a fraud and alot of people have your last 4 digits of your social. So i called back acting like my attorney and it went to voicemail.i said im calling on her behave and please call my office back so we can take care of this issue..I left the police department number..

This is bull s***, so dont worry flip the script on them and dont be afraid tell them what you are going to do only after you are nice and get as much info as possible. If they call again iam filing a lawsuit against them. Ask them how much do you want to take care of this matter.Laugh and tell them what you are going to do and hang up i bet they dont call back..


The office sounded like a call center not a Department of Criminal Investigations..lol

PS. The real police officer that i spoke with said if the goverment wanted to arrest you they are not going to warn you they will just come and get you..

Jenn, my message was exactly the same and they always end it the same way that if you dont call back "I wish you luck and God be with you"  There all the same from all different numbers.  I have reported this before and hopefully something can be done.

I received a call from this phone number on 4/27/12 from a man with a forgein accent stating he was from investigation dept and that they had a warrant for me and if i didnt have my attorney or myself call back they would have to proceed.  I have had several of these calls from all different numbers and they all all SCAMS.
