I have received 3 calls from the same phone number  631-621-0001 recently. They said my PC got infected by virus
and need to be fixed and they are from Microsoft support group.  I know this is a scam. Just wonder if anybody does something  to get rid of this scam i.e, report to  state attorney general or  Police? Very concerned!

I received a call from 913-951-0808 a man (with a heavy accent) told me he was windows support. He had me hit windows logo and R. The RUN dialog box came up. he then had me enter eventvwr. A variety of warnings and error messages came up. he then had me clear the RUN dialog box and enter www.support.me. This took me to logMein123.com. he then told me to enter in the code 812123. I said how do I know he is legitimate. He said to call 631-621-0001. I called that number and asked how much for the service. The person who answered said the person on my other line would advise me. I hung up and did a search on 631-621-0001. It is a scam.

tonight, I get a call from Ron Wilson who said that he was a Windows Tech Support for Windows Operating System.  His said that his Job ID number is 22022021.  He said his phone number is 1-510-962-4562. He said he was calling from California.   He took me step by step up until the ammyy wanting to have remote control of my computer.  I said no.  He also said that his time had ended and he would call me back tomorrow.  I was on the phone with this heavy Indian speaking man sparring with him who he was, how did he get my number, why was he calling me instead of me calling him, etc. etc.  this is scary..  I just pray that I didn't go too far for him to get into my computer, windows licence, etc.  Now I am very concerned.

Just got the same call as mentioned below.  Incoming call 971-555-0129 (not working) and call back 631-621-0001.  Urgent and persistent tone with think Indian accept.  Said Microsoft Tech Support receiving numerous error messages.  Started to give me instructions starting with 'Control/Windows button' to take look inside.  Clearly a scam.  Sad how often they will succeed.

I just got a call from a man with a heavy Indian accent and a pretty high voice.  Total scam...since when does the Microsoft technical support call you about viruses on your computer? Never.  What do they care if I have a virus? He told me he was part of www.groupresolve.com - not part of Microsoft Technical anything.  Judging by the previous posts, I would say watch out for this scam.

I received this scam call today, September 20th, 2013, so they are still at it.. A man with an Indian accent.  He said it was Microsoft Co. and that my computer sent messages that it had viruses.. Ha..! what they did not know is that I have a full service contract with a company to keep my pc clean, and they had just worked on it, so this could not be true.  I asked for their # and they gave me the 0001 number. But my Caller ID revealed a call from Alton, IL #618-463-1412. I called that number but got an operator message that was 'disconnected' ..? How can someone make a call from a 'disconnected' number unless they hacked that phone line also..?

part 2: he couldn't answer my key code, he told me the last time my computer updated itself was today, (due to some other glitch, it hasn't updated in over a year), he told me he got our name and number from a data base, and said, in a thick, Indian accent, that "the name is Ron Wilson". His company was Group Results. The number to call him back was 631-621-0001. When I asked where he was calling from, he carefully said "that is a New York phone number." Glad we stopped the remote access when we did. Who knows what else he was trying to access, and not just our pockets. He never got around to selling us software, as others have complained of, but I'm sure he was headed there, next.

Husband got a call. Said our computer was sending out viruses to other computers without our knowledge and Microsoft was made aware of it. Told him to press the windows key and "r" at the same time to show a report full of errors. Asked him to give Microsoft remote access to our computer and he almost did, but I stopped him as I was just made aware of the situation at that time. I got on the phone, then, and asked many questions: who are you? how did you get this number? what is our information? when was the last time my computer updated itself? what is the key code to my version of windows?

I just got the strange call from these scammers.
I told them that I'm disabled and I'd have to get to my computer and call them back.
They gave me the number and we hung up.
I called 3 of our local TV stations and am now posting here.
Next? FBI, Attorney General, etc.

Same problem and the same 631 # as listed in other posts.  He said the name of his company was 'group results' and he represented Microsoft...everything else was the same as above.  I never believed him, but he was very surprised when I said I had a Mac and he didn't quite know what to do.  I called him a liar and a scammer, and he called me a "bloody f***er" and he hung up.

BTW, I gotta love the hokey posts in here that claim it is a legit company and these people fixed their computers...obviously fake posts.

I received a call from this number, and this Indian guy says his name is "Duke Jones".  Yeah, right.  He said there were problems with my computer and told me to go to "Run" and type in eventvwr and that took me to Event Viewer where there were a lot of warning flags.  (I have gotten this call before, and when I asked my computer guy about it, he said it's not a big deal for those warning flags to be there.)  Duke wanted me to pay him some big money and then he would take over my computer and fix it.  He said it would take about 1-2 hours to fix all those warning flags.  Fortunately, I didn't let him do it.  My computer does run very slowly, and I still have all those warning flags, but I didn't let him in.  I'm not sure what his plans were if he were to get access to my or anyone else's computer.  Has anyone figured that out?  What the ulterior motive is?  It seems like he is after more than just money because otherwise why does he want to take over my computer for 2 hours?

Got a call from a person with a heavy accent, telling me I have a virus on my computer??? I don't see anything wrong with it. I asked were are you calling me from?I asked for the company information (he said they were Tech Windows located in Tennessee) I asked for the the website and phone number to confirm if they were a legit company. The number he gave me was 631-621-0001 His name Peter, He had asked me to press on the window key on my keypad at the same time the letter R and type (eventvwr) I did not and will not. I have never heard windows calling peoples home and did not trust his information, he would mention the word (right) to many times I did not answer yes to anything, be careful with calls like this it sounds like a scam...  His number on my caller ID is 971-217-9514????? they don't match up????

Stupid me, thought they were legit until these India-accented fools tried to tell me that my "chip certificate" had expired and they quoted me up to $400 for a 5 year term. There is no such thing as a chip certificate. I told them that I was not interested and asked them where they were located. He said Texas and I asked him where in Texas and he (he called himself Brian) copped an attitude and said "what difference does it make?" I knew then that he and his crew were scamming and not really in the US. I had to reset my router because of them. After I yelled at them, these idiots still call. They said that they were with Group Resolve and that 99% of the USA knows about their company. I'm in the 1% because I never heard of Group Resolve.

I too got a call from Windows Tech Support very early this morning.  The guy said his name was John Smith (of all things).  I really couldn't understand his heavy Indian accent at all, so he transferred me to his supervisor, Kate.  I asked how they got my number and they said they got it when I registered the computer.  I guess I was falling for it for awhile, although I was suspicious from the start.  I actually was going through some of the stuff they wanted me to do, until I got to a download screen warning me  not to download unsolicited material.   At that point, I told them I'd have to check with my tech support person.  So I called the guys at OfficeMax, where I recently bought the computer, and they advised me about this scam.  I hope they catch these guys, although I don't even know if what they're doing is illegal.  It should be!!

lucky if they fix your computer, do you have information inside your computer like, Bank, Credit card or other personnel information, because if you give them permission to enter your computer, they can see that and use, How do you paid them and how much they charge you?
dont take much commun sence to see that are SCAM, Microsoft dont even know about that, and how they or microsoft found that you have problem???????????????
do you have a program inside your computer that detect if you have virus and problem like that.
if you paid with a credit card, you can call your credit card compagny, first to cancel the charge telling that you never autorize that charge or they told that will cost you only a few $$ and they charge you much more, second, by doing that you can get the information of the scammer who call you and you can call the FBI or go to "donotcall.com " and you will found how to stop them and you can get up to $5000. on damage and help people by posting their information on line, and YES THEY ARE SCAMMER AND DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION, JUST SAID THAT YOU DONT HAVE A COMPUTER

Got a a call from 631 621 0001 again - same voice different name - last time it was Zack Marsh, today it was Christopher Jones. Name of the so-called supervisor Chris both times.

They tell you they are connected to Microsoft and want to sell you Malware removing software after showing you the event fewer with a lot of error reports. They charge you $150!

I also got also calls from 866 539 8803 same voices different names like Alan Andrew. Looks to me the same fraudulent attempts.
"I answered the phone and was told that it was Windows Help Line. They were getting "malware" on their mainframe and that there was something wrong with my system. I refused to talk any further, He gave me the phone number 1- 866-539-8803. He said his name was James Watson.  He spoke with a thick middle eastern accent. The name and the accent didn't match.I didn't call that number; but, microsoft are not aware of this. They suggested that it seemes like a scam!!!!!!!!!" found this on http://www.jetlyrics.com/callerreview/review.php?q=8665398803

I got scammed by these folks. They charged me twice on two different cards. Gruppent technologies was the name. Alford was the name used by the tech. Money was collected by variety store merchant I Irving Texas. They did work on my computer for about four hours total. Left an icon on my desk top for service. I tried to get service tonight but all I got was contacting service tech. The number 631621001 seems to be disconnected. I sure would like to get some help to prosecute these people.
