Scammers phishing for your credit card information. Spoof different numbers all day long. They call at least once a day. I'm to the point I reject the calls every time. If you make the mistake of answering and pressing 1 after the automated message, they WILL continue to call. Every effort to get them to stop will not work: asking to be removed from the list, telling them you do not have a credit card, asking to speak to a supervisor, asking for a number to call them back. Any questions you pose will result in them hanging up on you.

These calls are generally made by a random phone dialing system. Did you mention US Bank first or did they? If they mentioned it first, call the bank to report that their information system may have been hacked. Then call law enforcement.

Waste their time. Feed them false information (that you have written down, because they will ask you to confirm it more than once). Only the toll-free bank number should be legit. Let the insults fly when they start to catch on.

The card service scammers WILL "service" our credit cards, BUT, when they finish "servicing" them, they will have no available credit remaining!

Perhaps "Credit Manager" doesn't *want* these particular criminals to get caught. Know what I mean?
Keep reporting, everyone. The most-reported numbers get subjected to traffic analysis and other methods that can eventually lead back to the originators, even though the numbers are spoofed.

Received calls from 631-665-8769 for the past several days (which must be this week's spoofed number). Been receiving these calls for YEARS and have refined my technique. Rather than asking to be removed like I did the first several months, I now ask them what they think the worst part of prison will be when they get caught. Feel free to use this, but be prepared for a lot of "yo mamma" statements to be tossed your way.

The FACTS are clearly stated in the November issue of Reader's Digest, and previously in the Oct-Nov 2012 issue of the AARP Bulletin, not to mention in other electronic and print media. Even though your post did not appear to be a question, but rather an attack, I answered you in a civil way, just as I have others who were inquisitive. If you care to, you can get copies of these articles to read, and them draw your own conclusions.

Now how is anyone supposed to catch criminals if they are not reported appropriately? What the government doesn't know about, they can't try to get stopped. Just because the numbers are spoofed doesn't mean they won't get caught eventually and all the reports is evidence against them and used by the different agency's..

I receive these calls frequently. All from different numbers. I have no idea how they even got my number, as all my credit cards, banks, car loans, etc have my land line number on them, not my cell. I actually dialed thru to one the other day as was told by a nasty woman that "why did i answer my phone if i did not want to be bothered" i asked for a supervisor and she hung up on me lol
Mike Balls 2013-12-19 15:36:30 Unknown
It's actually true, but entertaining now! What I do is?.go along with the entire script and say 'yes, in fact I have credit card debt'. Yes, in fact, I pay more than xx% rate. Then they go thru the whole "what would you say your total amt of debt is?" This is where it gets really funny. I say "$692,532.22" Their $7.75 per hour mind goes nuts, they can't even comprehend it lol. So, since these people work on commission, I've just wasted 10 minutes of their time. (I work from home with a headset on so it doesn't slow me down a bit, I keep typing my e-mails while I waste their entire day lol)

Yeah, I just missed a call from these SOBs while driving. When I called back, "THus number I'd not in service." I added it to my phone's directory as about the 20th # for the contact "¡SCAM!", on my reject list.

This number has called our station every day since Saturday, December 14 as follows:
12/14 at 10:42 AM
12/15 at 12:56 PM
12/116 at 5:51 PM
12/17 at 5:50 PM
and today, 12/18 at both 4:15 and 5:23 PM. It is a credit card scam that has been known to used spoofed numbers and has a penchant for calling police stations, jamming our lines and preventing us from receiving emergency calls through the phone lines. This is obstruction of justice, public endangerment and an act of terrorism as defined by the Patriot Act of 2001.

Please do not "Sir" people on the internet. There is a good chance whom ever you are talking to is not a sir and would appreciate the unnecessary, gendered, noun.
Walter 2013-12-18 21:52:28 Unknown
they call several times a week from fake NY, Oregon, CT and other numbers.
Rick De Coyte 2013-12-18 21:49:23 Telemarketer
This call was for credit card debt consolidation and when I responded and asked them to take the number off the list they hung up.

If you have an iPhone you can go to recent calls, select the arrow to the far right of the specific call. It opens to a contact screen. Scroll down and select "Block this Caller". Will not ring phone in future.
CreditManager 2013-12-18 21:31:05 Unknown
What makes you think they're not the ones running the scam ring?
CreditManager 2013-12-18 21:29:58 Unknown
That could be just where they're calling from. Or at least it should be.
CreditManager 2013-12-18 21:26:36 Unknown
Reporting to FTC or DNC list is of no value. These calls come from "spoofed" numbers. These fake numbers cannot be traced back to the caller. The caller changes to a new fake number every day or so.
There are two options. 1. Don't answer or block the call. 2. Mess with them and waste their time (see comments below).
Antney 2013-12-18 20:23:49 Unknown
And somehow you are unequivocally qualified to state they are addicted to drugs because they call phone numbers. That's pretty far reaching. You should stick to known fact instead of wild speculation.
