Got a text message saying there was a problem with my debit card. I ignored it thinking it was a scam but kept it just in case I had to refer back. Checked my bank statement 7 days later and found a charge through Paypal. Checked my Paypal account and didn't find any activities on that date. I think someone got a hold of my debit card information somehow and set up on a Paypal other than mine. Coincedently I got the text message I never responded to and the charge on the same date. \

I also got this text message but knew it was a scam so I didn't do anything. The Do Not Call list does work for respectful businesses, it is the jerks who scam who ignore the list.... I really hope nobody falls for this or any other scam... I don't know what can be done to stop the scam phone calls, texts but I sure wish they could get caught!!!

Just received a text from an email address starting with bankofamerica ... can't read the rest of it on my phone it is so long.  it says there are some problems with my debit card and to call the number, 631 669 6692.  I tried calling, but it was busy.  I decide to call my bank of America customer service and they were able to tell me this number is not a bank of America number ... so obviously a spam.  then I found this thread.  hope others call their bank before using this number.  so sad to think of the repercussions because of some jerks!

NSA has everyones number and with the recent debacal with the Obama care website who thinks the government could or would keep the information secrete.

This is a total scam,  after reading other comments on here, I called this number back, used Bank of america recorded greeting, then a bad version of computer voice. to let me know my card has been locked due to security concerns.  It asked for my card number (which I entered a total bogus number 1234 4567 7890 1234) then entered bogus address, secuirity number on back, ect.  after everything entered it let me know my card is now protected and available to use...Total scam..

Received text at 9:30 this Wednesday morning.

Got a text saying my card has been shut down , almost believed it because I live in georgia and work in Tennessee , but right now I'm on storm in Indiana . Listened to it and got about half way through my card number and thought I should call my bank first . And all is well . DO***E BAGS!!!

Hello, I got the same exact message today and one similar yesterday.  I called my bank and they verified that it is indeed a scam.  I only wonder how these scam artists get cell #'s or any numbers at all.  I am on the no-call list.  I guess that is also a scam.  I only hope no one responds to these thieves.  You all have a nice day.

Yep, I got the text msg today as well. Tip off that it was a scam was 1) the email address it came from and 2) no 800 number to call.

Same thing happened to me this morning.  Overall text message spamming / phishing seems to be increasing.

rec'd a message from saying "we have temporarily prevented access to your account for your security please call 631-669-6692

I also received a text saying  (Account Locked - Refference  2Hello, your VlSADebit is now limited until you call our security department at:+1(631) 669-6692. Thank you
First off I don't even have a bank of America credit card! I called my to check, bank says all is fine, I received this text on my work phone, called corporate headquarters and said this is a scam. Do not give any personal information out

It will say to call them because system detected unusual activity....
