Just got a call from this number, but they didn't leave a message.  We do get several chimney cleaning calls each year, and thanks to this web site, I suspect this was another one.

I got the sam call as everybody else but i fell for it they do not ask you for your credit information....And they came to my house and they did a GREAT JOB on my chimney cleaning they actually are a great company...when i asked them why are u calling from long island they said it was a computer based system out of long island

Anyone know what kind of scam it is? Do you think they'd actually come to your house if someone fell for it, or are they just trying to get credit card info? Anyway, seems like no one is falling for it. (They asked for me by name, but as soon as I told them I don't have a chimney they hung up.)

A man called our home at 7:15 on 6-07-10 - my daughter picked up - he asked for my wife by last name - my daughter said she wasn't in - he hung up. I called the number - a man answered - I asked who he was and why he was calling and he hung up. Beware this scam. On caller ID it said Unknown Name.

I received a call from this 631-924-0826 today around noon.  They said the same as all the people above had said.. that they previously cleaned our Chimney and we are due for another cleaning. I said that I prefer that they speak to my husband and asked for a call back number. He said :"I will call next week".. I asked for him to call tonight at dinner time to which he agreed. He has not called back. I spoke to my husband, we did not use them in the past.

Some woman, said they cleaned my chimney in 2007. I handed the phone to my husband who then told them, really, we didn't have it cleaned since we've built it. What a scam they are trying!

Female, "Jackie" said they had been to our house several years ago to clean the chimney to oil burner connection etc. I played along and then told her we've lived here 25 years and oh yeah by the way I have electric heat, Jackie hung up immediately, guess she didn't have a script for that scenario...Not very playful

Same thing happened to me today at around 3:30pm.  They said they had been out to clean my chimney several years ago and now they wanted to "get me up to date".  I said "no, I don't think so" and before i could finish he hung up on me.  Very suspicious.

Just got call, said they had been out to clean our chimney before and "wanted to get us up to date". When I asked for call back # he hung up.

Just got the phone call from 631 924 0826-claimed to be CT  in-town chimey service. They don't exist in my town and it is a Suffolk county NY number. Said I had service in 2007.

Caller Id said "Unknown Name".

This is a scam!  Caller said we were out to your house once before to clean your chimney.  We've never had the chimney cleaned!  Beware of this guy!
