We did not receive a phone call but a letter in the mail stating that my company owes two hundred dollars to a plumbing company in Minnesota and we are in New Mexico.  I call 631.941.9616 for an invoice describing services done for us and all I got was a fax on to send payment to Benjamin & Williams Credit.  And yes the ladies at B&W were rude and not informative on the collection due.

They have a new number or maybe more numbers now. Latest, 631-627-6005, 6009, 6011. They call and left a fony message. When I called back the phone just ring and ring forever. I called all numbers but nobody picks up. Googled number to belong to Benjamin & Williams with an upstate New York address.

This is extreme harrassment - employees may think that the company they work for is being pursued by a collection agency, which lowers employee morale. Law enforcement, in my opinion, really needs to take a good look at this company and their shennanigans, and put a stop to it.

Looks like that national do not call list isn't doing it's job. It's probably just a front and they sell your number to telemarketers. It wouldn't surprise me a bit!

I own a small business and I have some account recievables that are not paying up. I recieved a call from this company.. They sound nice and I like that they are local and in the state I live in. I'm reluctant to use them because of this forum. Has any qualified business owner have any experience with this company as far as collecting on money that is owed to you?

Got a message on our business line a few days ago. Could not hear clearly about who was calling. just " .......investigator and would like to talk to the owner or credit manager.....631-941-3300....."

received a call from this company asking to speak to the owner or credit manager.  This is a residence and I do not own a business nor do I owe anyone any $$.   Didn't call back!

Voice mail on a do-not-call home number from a woman saying she was trying to reach the person in charge of Accounts Receivable, and a request that I call back 631-941-3300.  She did not leave her name and the name of her office was completely unintelligible despite repeated playback.  I did not call back.

Received message on phone registered with Do Not Call from a woman identifying herself with Banjamin and Williams, and a call back number 631-941-3300. I did not call back.

So lets get this straight they got you paid on small accounts but didn't get you paid on a larger account? Your comment makes no business sense. Maybe your account was not collectible in the first place.

RECEIVED A CALL AT 9:20 am ON MY BUSINESS LINE.  WE DO NOT ANSWER "OUT OF AREA" OR "UNKNOWN" CALLS.  THEY LEFT A MESSAGE (ON OUR MACHINE) FOR OUR A/R DEPARTMENT.  THEY ARE A DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY.  THEY WANTED TO KNOW IF WE HAD OUTSTANDING DEBTS THAT THEY COULD COLLECT FOR US AND LEFT THEIR PHONE #.
THEY SAID TO CALL BACK AND TALK TO LUCIA.

Several weeks in a raw this company was leaving messages on my business phone. Person who called didn't say his name or reason for the call just that it's a collection agency. Of cause it got my attention and when I called back, receptionist explained me it was soliciting calls looking for a new clients who need to collect debt from other people. When I suggested  to her at least to leave the calling person name and matter for the call, she called me a lunatic and hang up on me. Do you really want to have business with people like this?

A man left a message from 631-941-3300 on October 10, 2010 at 11:49 AM, "investigating my office legal status". I didn't call him back. Really fast talk I only understood "from..... and Williams"

looks like a telemarketing call because when you call back the autoattendant lists what they do and invite you to list debts with them, ostensibly so you can authorize them to collect on them. i will not waste any time with these guys

Companies prospect other companies to obtain new clients. Companies who have clients produce jobs for the economy, which benefits our country,  and if they provide  a service that people want or need, they continue in business because they provide a service that companies use and find beneficial. If you own a business, you receive phone calls from other businesses, either to talk to you about buying from you, or to sell you goods or services, this is why businesses have phone service, to give or receive business. Those are the 2 reasons your phone rings. You can not have a business and expect people to only call you to place orders with you, sometimes it will ring and people will try to sell you things.  This is part of our capitalist system. If your not interested, you don`t purchase anything. If you own a business, you can not realistically complain about being prospected. Doing business benefits all involved.

Received a voice mail at my business number on Oct. 18. Said it was Benjamin and Williams calling, asking to speak to credit manager or owner. Since all my business accounts are in fantastic shape, figure this is a poorly disguised attempt to sell debt collection services. Did not return call to 631-941-3300. Believe they are allowed to call businesses, as businesses are not protected by the Do Not Call law.

I have been receiving many unknown caller calls recently.  The person calling does not leave a message.  I do not answer calls that are unknown.  I put a message on my machine to the effect that if you have an blocked number, please unblock it or leave a message.  after several calls a male voice identifying himself as being from Benjamin & Williams Credit Investigators.  He left a message "this message is for the owner or credit manager to return his call.  I had not heard of them before and had no knowledge of the kind of business they were in (e. g. some kind of investigations, credit services, bill collection).  The call number given was

I called them back... they wanted to know if my company had any customers/clients who were not paying my  - they wanted to provide collection services.

one man show calling numbers of biz's... his name was Steve.
When asked if he was scrubbing his phone lists against DNCs he said "do what?"
basically he's trolling for a bite, but without using valid resources, or process...

our business attorney asked me to call the number he gave me (reluctantly) back, to see if it was even valid... it is indeedy a NY number... but went to some skanky answering machine (very residential sounding...) without even disclosing it was "Benjamin & Williams". ;)

so, this will be fun... who knows... hope they do well, cuz with verified numbers, non-scrubbing of list and a small show of only Steve, this should be an easy roll.

Got message saying they want to talk to me about collections.  Stated he was from Benjamin and Williams but asked that I call 631-569-5369 which is NOT the number that appeared on caller id.  Not planning on calling back.  I don't owe anyone any money.
