You can hear the "boiler room" of multiple voices in the background.
The caller said she is "Kim Lopez" and that they want to update/confirm my company's free Yellow Pages listing in the new directory.
I decided to go along to so how far they would go...
+ Each time there was a response needed from me, the phone went quite, as if recording my response.
+ They got the address so wrong; it appeared to be on purpose. I don't know such a street exists in my town.
+ Then, after giving her publicly available company information, the sales pitch began for an enhanced listing.
+ I firmly said free listing only! She then connected me to the "confirmation number", which started asking the same information, but this time said it was recording. "Kim" was apparently on the line listening to my responses, because... When they asked for my birth month and date, and I said NO, she came on immediately.
+ I told her it sounds like scam and abruptly said good bye.
| don't say yes to any question 2011-06-06 20:53:21 Unknown |
don't even mutter the word yes. They ask you if they have the correct address when you say yes the use the recording as evidance that you approved a $30 a month enhanced listing in there directory

Got several calls from this number for my husband, who has been dead for more than 2 years. They keep asking for his ID #, but won't say what they need it for. Sounds like someone calling from Asia. Do not give any information to anyone calling from this # - it has to be a scam!

632 are calls coming out from Country Code 63, City Code 02, thus 632 = Manila, Philippines. A lot of call centers from the US, Canada... etc has moved to the Philippines, India...
Beware... these people are only working for the BIG GUYS that used to run scams here in this continent.

This number used to call with the same yellow pages type thing as above post but recently they've been calling to say they are calling from a chiropractor in my area that would like to give free visits to the staff. I always hung up but today I asked him where he was calling from and he said Seattle (where we are) but pronounced it wrong and when I asked what part of seattle as 632 isn't a seattle area code he got flustered and then hung up. It was so fun!

Ditto I confirmed info they already stated (Accurate) then when they asked if I was 18 and able to make financial decisions in the company I said im over 18 and I am NOT making any financial decisions on the phone
Asked to be removed fom calling list stated I needed a verification number
I said were on the no call list and Im asking you not to call and hung up
Three subsequent calls the last one I played with and even sang them a song (very bad karaoke into the phone) they should have but did not hang up even when I then started telling them knock knock jokes Go figure anyway I lost goofing on them after ten twenty minutes and they would not disconnect on their own even with long periods of silence after the response
I was not interested in speaking to the indian speaking agent and disconneted after requesting someone who speaks english a little better

The caller was Hispanic and literally SHOUTED into the phone. I turned the volume down but it didn't help. Between the shouting and her accent I could very little of what she was saying. I could not get the name of her company but she started telling me that I could get a free listing in 2008.
I was sure it had to do with "Yellow Page" listing. We have had numerous calls from them but always a different number.
I told her I was not interested and she just kept shouting! I HUNG UP!

These people call every quarter wanting the same thing. I flat out refuse to talk into a recording device for fear that my requests could be modified into something I didn't pay for. Just tell them "yeah right" and hang up. My local yellow pages takes care of me and my business online. Not some sweat shop out of Taiwan. This is a scam in my opinion...
