How oh how am I receiving unwanted text messages from 636-232-9632 stating I've won something. Ridiculous!

The number belongs to the Pisa Group in Fenton, MO. Their address is 1320 YMCA Dr., Fenton, MO and main number is 636.931.2737. They are a telemarketing group for many US newspapers. The officers are John Pisa, Pres and CFO; Michael Maggio, Ex. VP; Jeri Kirkbride, VP-Admin. See also www.pisagroup.com
If you call the corporate number you can speak directly to a live person. You can also file a complaint with the FCC by using form 1088D; a lesser valued complaint can go to the Better Business Bureau of which Pisa is a member.

636-232-2761. I called it back and its regarding a newspaper subscription..I need a good 'blocking' app for my phone.
Little500 2013-04-17 17:28:21 Unknown
The advice given by Jenn to" ...call the number back and press 3, it will remove you from the list" --- MAY JUST WORK!! -- as it WILL lead you through a couple of PROMPTS THAT REFER TO BEING REMOVED FROM THEIR CALL LIST - the message instructs you to press "1" "if you're sure you don't want to continue to receive any further messages.. blah, blah, blah..." It does this TWICE before providing final message about removal..
Procedure:
Begin at pressing "3" as soon as the call is answered. Continue through the additional two prompts pressing "1" at each question.
The final message states your "... number will be removed from their call list - WITHIN 48 HOURS"
One can only hope...

This is a scam calling from 636-232-2761. The caller is located in the Philippines, despite having a US Area Code.
Beware - don't give out any personal information on any such call - from this number or any other caller.

Thanks!

Asking to be removed only lasts for a while and they start again. Also, we do not live in Missouri. We live in PA and have a NC cell phone number and hey keep calling MY cell. Once, instead of hanging up, I heard a man ask for my husband's name on voicemail before hanging up. They have called every single day, sometimes more than once, to my cell for weeks. They hang up when I answer, and hang up on voicemail.

Discount newspaper subscription service.
Call back the number on the same phone you received the call in. Wait and listen for option 3. Then push 3 on your phone. DO NOT HANG UP. Wait for next prompt, push 1. Wait again for prompt and push 1. Then you get a message saying that the number you are calling from will be removed from their calling list within 48hrs.
Follow this exactly. They expect you to hang up after prompt 1, 2, or 3 so that your number WILL NOT be removed. You must listen and finish the sequence of prompts as above.
Tricky devils that they are!

As I also live in Tampa, I followed the advice of 'Sanders' (above) from 12/11/11. Other posted similar posts... Thanks to all! I called 636 232 2761 back and Sub Serv stands for Subscription Service and is indeed a third party sales group offering discounts on the Tampa Tribune, it really annoys me as I've received the Trib for 30 yrs and know several writers. They have been in big time financial trouble for two years and have laid off dozens and dozens of long term employees. This is some last ditch effort by the new mgmt team to sell papers. Uhhhh hello! You might wanna check your subscription list before you do this.
Call it back, hit 3 and they won't bother you again. Lastly, we are unpublished, unlisted and on the do not call list. THAT is why they got thru I guess, we do business with the Trib or the call wouldn't get through. Cretins...

Just called them back after a week of daily calls with no message. Apparently from a newspaper discount service. I pressed 3-1-1 to hopefully remove me from their calling list. Crossing fingers!!!

I have confirmed Cage and Kelly B's comments. Pressing option 3 indeed sent me to the menu to have my number removed from their call list. Whether they actually follow through on that promise remains to be seen, however.

I kept getting phone calls from this number on my cell phone. I live on the east coast so I can assure you I am not interest in the newspaper. Call back and listen to the prompt and hit 3-1-1. My number was sold to them so hopefully this will take me off of their calling list in 48 hours as the prompt said.
Kelly B 2011-12-19 16:34:27 Unknown
It is from the St. Louis Post Dispatch Newspaper dept.
Sanders 2011-12-02 04:48:12 Telemarketer
It's a 3rd party newspaper "subscription retention" telemarketer. Nothing to do with any balance or debts you might owe to the St. Louis Dispatch or any of their other clients.
If you've recently cancelled or not renewed your local newspaper subscription, these guys apparently offer to try and get you back for a percentage of the subscription price. (Don't know about anyone else, but the fact that the Tampa Tribune turned my contact info over these parasites makes me feel even better about canceling our subscription!)
But @Irritated and @jenn are correct--to be taken off the list, just call the number back, press 3, then be sure to listen to the end to confirm your choice. I did it earlier today and it seems to have worked...
Mandy 2011-11-10 17:27:33 Telemarketer
I believe this is a number related to the St. Louis Post Dispatch. I was receiving the paper for a while and decided to cancel my subscription. Now they call every day; I blocked the number with my cell phone, but the number still shows up when they attempt to call. I consider this a marketing call...

Just tried. Hope it works.
