received a call from this number today.  it was a recording telling me I was selected to receive a free medical alert device.

First off, just because you are oin the no call list, does not mean companies won't call you. But, if you tell them not to call again and they do, they can be prosecuted. The only way the list will work, is if people report calls every time they receive them.

Received another call at 19:00, this is the 3rd time it's called but each time that I have answered there is never a response on the other end.  One of the things that my caller id is showing is "V72517472904667"; how can you block the number when they just spoof another one.  At least my caller id is giving me the extra info that it's the Scummier calling again and I can just ignore it.

Since they didn't leave you a message I'll tell you who called- it was the medic alert for seniors scammers. There is an article in the current AARP Bulletin warning of, and explaining this scam, that is well worth the reading.

Rec'd call. Said they are sending me a medical device.  I said I didn't order, but caller kept talking over me. Said it was paid for.  Also on do not call list.  I hung up.

Life Alert has a notice on their web site about the criminals trying to trade on their good name.  The calls being reported here are not from Life Alert.  They're scumbag imposters.

Forget that.  Why even mention it?  Only honest legitimate companies use the list.  

Criminals don't comply with laws.  That's why they're called criminals.

Your only defense against telescum CRIMINALS is to be proactive.  Instead of answering an unknown caller, let it ring 'till they hang up then come here and search the number.  If they're legitimate (and some are) people here will say so.

Most agree that if you answer a call from a scammer, either personally, by answering machine, or by voice mail, their robo dialer marks your number as LIVE and you can expect even more calls.

No message left.  If you try calling number back from my end it doesn't even ring.  Very annoying.  I am on the do not call list, too.

I also got a call from this number this evening about the free medial alert device.  I did not press any numbers when prompted.  I am on the do not call list.  How do you report something like this?

You may want to suggest your AG contact the North Dakota AG office if MO hasn't identified where these calls are coming from.

Also, the Indiana AG, some months back, sought and I believe was granted a court injunction in an attempt to prevent the Hilgar thug from calling into Indiana.

This harassment/extortion scam is being run all over the country with different spoofed numbers being used for a relatively small geographical area and they change those numbers often.  Extortion is an appropriate term here because Hilgar targets those believed to be elderly, frail, ill, and maybe even a little judgement challenged, and then calls them relentlessly attempting to trick and harass them into giving up financial information.    I've been called nearly every day for over 6 months; but, I'm not giving in.    Getting pretty damn mad.  I'm not in MO, but a couple of states to the north.

Same comments as the other people.  I just turned them in to the attorney general as I'm on the 'no call' list.  Hope someone in Jeff City investigates and stops this BS.

I just got the first call from these scammers since they changed their number.  I can't block them by name because it just comes up 'out of area'.  So I'll just add this new number to my blocked list.

I keep getting calls from this number that sound like someone confirming a life alert order and saying that it is being shipped to my house. The person doesn't respond to me talking and continues to talk as if it is a recording. A few months ago the same place called and I answered and got someone to talk to me and I told them never to call again or I was calling the police and I hung up. They called again tonight!

Received phone call this morning with recording saying senior citizens were eligible to receive free medical alert devices. I hung up before the message was complete. This is a scam and the scammers have now spoofed a different phone number, this time from St. Charles, MO. A couple of months ago, I was getting the same calls from the KC, MO area using area code 816. The only reason I even answered the call was because I have a lot of friends who call from the same area code.

Don't press any buttons to speak to someone or remove your number from their list - they will know they've reached a valid phone number. Then they will start with the high-pressure sales pitch. Just hang up.
