I think Freedom is hillarious with responses and treating this site as if it is PR for the company...must be an owner, not an employee

My goodness. Yes, I do see in the initial statement that they were calling FOR Ann now. It is possible, but we can't be certain without specifics, that Ann had multiple balances which lent to one call placed on each new account. I have actually had this occur after receiving a new phone number as well. When this occurs an agency always appreciates when someone lets them know it is a wrong number because it helps save time for everyone. The number is then removed immediately. In our office we assist people every day that are dealing with an oversight or dilemma of some sort. We appreciate that no one is perfect and there are scenarios that require patience and assistance.

I appreciate your question. Generally, a collection agency only has the authority to negotiate with the authorization from the client. Agencies assist many companies so this ability may vary from client to client based on the terms of the agreement and amount of loss incurred by the unpaid balance. I encourage you to most definitely ask because it may very well be possible. With regard to the credit bureau, you should ask the agency you are working with as to how it will reflect on your report based on their reporting procedures. Thank you so much for your civil question... best of luck with resolving your outstanding balance.

I appreciate that messages would be much more efficient, and it would make our jobs easier, most definitely. Unfortunately, due to current regulations leaving messages is not possible. Please feel free to call the number on your caller ID and we are happy to provide you with the important information.
Freedom 2013-11-11 14:04:48 Unknown
I understand that you prefer messages and the ability to leave a message would make our jobs easier as well. Unfortunately, with current regulations, leaving a message is not possible. Please feel free to call back our number on your caller ID and identify yourself so we can provide you with the information you need.
Freedom 2013-11-11 14:03:10 Unknown
I understand your need for a message. Unfortunately, regulations make it very difficult to leave messages at this time. Please feel free to call us back and identify yourself so we can provide you with the information you need.

To "Freedom "
Does DKA have the authority to negotiate a balance? If so, how does that appear on a credit rating? Is it a paid bill or partial pay with "write off " ? Which I've heard actually hurts your credit.
I thought since you work for them you may be able to help understand that.
Really? 2013-02-23 18:22:30 Unknown
She said they were calling FOR an Ann, not that Ann was the employee. Maybe you should actually pay attention.
annoying 2012-12-18 17:54:41 Unknown
Why don't they leave a message? I do not answer unknown phone calls and I have had people calling my phone looking for other people. I know they're doing a job or whatever but LEAVE A MESSAGE SO I KNOW WHO AND WHAT THE HELL IS CALLING?!?!?! Your job would be easier if they knew how to communicate.
fedup! 2012-09-22 16:45:28 Unknown
I agree fully, some people like myself can't always answer calls due to working, mtgs etc ....if you would be man/woman enough, you would give people the respect of leaving a message so we can try to get back with you.
schmoo44 2012-09-21 18:13:19 Unknown
this number keeps showing up on my cell and they don't leave a message or anything... @Freedom if you are so scrupulous and pleasent as you claim you and your co workers are then have the courage, decency etc to at least say who is calling and why...
schmoo44 2012-09-21 18:10:03 Unknown
i believe he sasy they call asking for an ANN not that ANN id calling him?? maybe you should pay better attention to the statements instead of trying to defend your employer who obvioyusly isn't as scrupulous as you claim or there wouldn't be these posts now would there??
Freedom 2012-07-28 23:55:03 Unknown
We do not dial during those hours. PERIOD. I know having an account in collections is unpleasant. It is just as unpleasant for the people who are not being paid. Our company remains professional and courteous out of respect for all parties involved.
Freedom 2012-07-28 23:52:52 Unknown
We don't employ an Ann. I am afraid you are confusing your collection companies.
Freedom 2012-01-31 22:17:50 Unknown
No calls before 8am and actually most calls are made after 9am, so your claim of calls before 7am is fictitious. We don't call multiple times a day, in fact, not even every day and for most only once a week unless someone has asked for us to call, so this statement is simply wrong and inflamatory. Why would we want to upset the very people we are wanting to work with?
all i have to say 2012-01-17 01:44:29 Debt Collector
All have to say is that if they call me before 7 am again and keep blowing my phone up with calls they are in for a rude awaking and they do call past 8pm which is illegal, asked my lawyer...
love to play games with these people 2011-08-11 00:15:37 Unknown
I keep receiving calls on my phone [which I've had for 28 years] for a person named Ann. I do not know Ann. Ann does not live here. I am not Ann. The only Ann I know lived in New Mexico and is dead......I have told these people to stop calling me. Obviously "Ann" gave them the wrong number or someone transposed numbers resulting in my home phone being connected to Ann. Even after I stress to them that they will never reach Ann at this number they ask if I have a number for her.......they are not playing with a full deck.....
And Freedom; my attorney is a partner with Polcinelli, a very large law firm in St. Louis. They have handled many business transactions for me and this type of harassment is grounds for suit. All I have to do is have my attorney send them a letter via certified mail return receipt. If they contact me after the date of the CMRR I have grounds for a harassment suit..They can tag my suit award to their clients bill.

For years and I am very proud of how we assist people in getting back on track.
Freedom 2011-04-06 19:52:27 Unknown
It's not ok to try and collect in a fashion that is past statute, BUT it's also NOT OK to not pay an obligation. I am sure you would agree that there are unethical people in every industry. Why are you lumping bad behavior on everyone? You must think it is ok to not pay an obligation?
Mike 2011-03-18 15:25:45 Unknown
How long have you worked for this company?
mae1143 2011-03-10 22:52:50 Unknown
Hmmm. Sounds like "Freedom" works for this company and is trolling these entries and replying to them. You claim by your posts that debt collectors are normal people, etc., etc. Yes, that's true - people with no scruples and who don't care about anything except getting their quota's of collections met. Had a debt collector contact me about a debt that 1) had been paid a long time ago and, 2) was over 22 years old!!! WAAYYYY past the statute of limitations for collection!! Now, convince me that's honest and ethical "Freedom"!! HA!
Freedom 2011-03-01 20:22:33 Unknown
Actually, you are partially right. It is best to remain calm, that is true. Collection companies can actually assist you in avoiding the credit bureau if you communicate with them from the onset. They may be able to assist you in actually financing a past due bill so you can get it resolved and get back on track, when it may not have been possible to get financing via a bank... and you most definitely don't want to approach a payday loan. So, gold star on the keeping calm, mahtchew, but you may want to rethink your other suggestions.
Freedom 2011-03-01 20:16:14 Unknown
Messages are not required.
Freedom 2011-03-01 20:14:41 Unknown
If a balance isn't owed, just let them know. That isn't possible if you don't answer your phone.
Freedom 2011-03-01 20:13:23 Unknown
Awesome advise, not. Businesses have employees, who have families, who eat and reside in buildings with rent and mortgages. Collectors help to contribute approximately $300.00 back into the pockets of every American family by keeping the costs down due to loss. If you have an outstanding obligation, try and work it out. Don't avoid it. Accountability is fashionable.
Freedom 2011-03-01 20:09:05 Unknown
Interesting... if you wouldn't speak with him and he doesn't leave messages, how do you know his name was Kevin unless you called him and pressed for his information without identifying yourself? Also, don't you think it is proper that he make sure who you are prior to discussing sensitive information? Your definition of harrassing is incorrect.
Freedom 2011-03-01 20:03:55 Unknown
It is legal to call a place of employment. If you would like to ask them not to contact you at a phone number you provided, it is best to actually speak with them and let them know. You can also put it in writing.
Freedom 2011-03-01 20:01:24 Unknown
The time frame an insurance company will accept a resubmitted claim varies from company to company. But it's great you finally addressed your obligation and I hope your insurance company took care of it.
