I just picked up a call from this number and it had a weird automated voice saying I had won some "travel dollars" and I need to press 1 to accept.  I weirded out and ended the call.

I received a call from (636) 442-9898 on 3/3/10.  Didn't answer, because I didn't recognize the area code.  I live in San Diego and everybody has out of area numbers.  I called back a few hours later & the phone number is disconnected, so right away I thought it was a scam or computer calling me.  I reported the number to AT&T.  Waiting on my phone bill to see if there are unauthorized charges.  So far haven't received any.    

Best way to fight this type of unwanted calls is to report them to the phone company & post a message online in one of these unwanted calls and/or scam forums online.  Don't answer unknown numbers.. if it is important, they can leave you a message... oh, & don't respond to unknown text messages... to me, texting is overrated anyways.  

I hate when somebody texts me & I call them back within 30 seconds to answer their question & they don't answer.... rude!!

Got this call around 9pm last night. Weird that it calls me. I google the number and I read about how everyone else is getting the same call. Called it back and says it's been disconnected. Very strange scam going on here folks.

I too received a call from this number, but when I called back seconds later, the phone number was reported disconnected.

Also a call from similar number with different area code 870-442-8989.

Just got a call from this number.  I understood the Spanish workd "dinero" (money).  I have been getting several calls from other unknown numbers.

Received a call from this number this am on cell.  Did not recognize the number so didn't answer, no message left.  This was on a private cell that only a few people have the number to, so not sure how they got the nubmer

I have also received these calls (along with 859-283-8073) on my cell phone.  These are scammers, so be smart and don't give them any info.  Best thing to do is have your phone company block their number.  I have Verizon and they can block up to five numbers at a time for a 90-day period.
