I recieved a text message from this number saying my bank card has been deactivated.  It referenced a bank that I don't use.

called back and they want your cc. dont enter it!

Received a text message saying my Visa account was closed due to unusual activity and to call 408-416-3476 right away. I called the number and it says Thank you for calling the Visa Security Dept. Please enter your 16 digit credit or debit card followed by the # key . Total Scam

I got a text message from them on May 13, 2009 at 5;45 pm.  I don't have a Rockwood Bank account. I contacted my cell phone provider (Sprint) to see how to block these kind of messages.

I got the text message on my cell phone and my daughter, 15 miles away, got the voice message on her home phone. Yesterday the number said the mailbox was full and today it says it is no longer in service.

same as above, a text message from a bank i don't do business with. i contacted the bank and was told

"This is a scam.  Do not respond.  We are trying to have people call the FTC to complain about the scam.  The phone number is 1-877-382-4357."

so the bank is aware of it if nothing else.

got the same text from rockwood, don't have an account with them.

I got this last yesterday about 6:30pm ...and came to this site .  After reading some of these ...I recalled that last week I also got a call from a #3 on my cell phone .  Is there any way to put a stop to this ??  At first I thought someone had already stolen my ID .

I got a text message alert indicatiing that my credit card with RockWood Bank was being deactivated and that I was to call this number-636-549-4515 to reactivate it. I have no account with Rockwood Bank:

I just got this thing as well.  I also got the strange 2am call from '3.'

just now got the text and decided to google the number. I see I'm not the only one. I'm very tempted to call back and cursing them out, or maybe try to get some information on them, that would be funny.

Same deal on the text. Also got a call at 2 in the morning that showed the # as 3 in the call log saying the same thing.

I called channel 5 KSDK because the covered a very similar scam by VCU in February.  314-444-5126 is channel 5 if anyone else wants to call - someone needs to let population know before someone falls for it.

Text from "unknown" stating "Rockwood Bank Alert:  Your card has been deactivated .  Please contact us at 636-549-4515 to reactivate your card."  received at 6:24PM (CST) Wed May 13th.

I got the same thing Rockwood Bank.  I do not use them.  I had one from Vantage Credit Union a few months ago as well.
