I just got a call from this number today, on my cel phone that I sometimes use for business.  She asked for a lady's name.  I said I did not know that person, but the name did ring a bell.  I was wondering if it was someone who used to work at the  company.  I asked what number they had intended to call and it was, indeed, my cel phone.  Then I remembered the name.  It was my husband's first wife.  But they were divorced 30 years ago, and I haven't laid eyes on her for over 20 years.  

I said, "I do remember someone named that, but it was 25 years ago in -----."  and the woman said, "She is in ----." .  And I said, "Oh, it might be her.  I don't know how to reach her."  Then the woman said she would take this number off the record, and she had another number.  THAT number ended up to be my husband's cel phone.  She has my husband's name, too.  I hope she does take us off her list.  After reading some of these stories, I am hoping they don't keep calling.  

That's interesting.  We got these cel phones long after we moved from ______,  But they can find out all sorts of stuff.about you.

If the number isn't in my phone number list, I don't pick up.  My so-called "UNLISTED" number gets all kinds of calls that just recycle every other month.  This is a new one though and they never leave a message; except today.  They are looking for information on my ex-husband's wife.  The person left her name phone number 877-288-0504 and extension.  If you have any "useful information" about  [Barbara.....] please call me.  I just looked up my ex online and yep, my name is listed in his "related to" list, but with my previous married name. Since I'm remarried and use my maiden name hypenated with my new married name, this info online is old by 20 years at least.  Call all you want you [beepers].....I NEVER ANSWER!!

They call at least twice a day . Don't leave and message or whom the call is for. Won't answer until they start identifying themselves on my machine.

Oh Goody - a place to file a complaint that sits there for years , but at least it makes you feel good.  Been there, Done That, The entire industry (credit) is one big massive joke

WHo the heck is client services - OH I KNOW - they are the idiots who purchased my debt from a company that gave me a loan when I had a job, and now they want me to pay back what I owe someone else cause they were stupid enough to purchase my debt from the original company - and guess what, I never signed any agreement with CLient Services, or Joes Collection Services... I only signed with the original lender - and if they wrote it off, well, that's not my fault - its theirs because I could have worked with them - not some 3rd, 4th 27th party collection scumbag service.

This cannot be true.  I owe no money to a bank.  I've been besieged with calls from these people.  You must work for this company.

I would not even dream of calling the number back. They are annoying. Whoever Client Services are they need to stop calling. People do not like to be called on Sunday or their days off from work. I do not know them but if I had their private number I have a few questions I need answered. Please leave us alone.

I have received numerous calls and other numbers from debt collection agencies looking for another person with same last name.   This has been going on more than 5 years.  I used to answer phone and tell them that this person is on "MY SPACE" this is before facebook.   I wrote this person on my space and told her to pay her damn bills as we were getting harassed.   She wrote back I was very rude and just because my husband's first initial in his name is not her problem.   Now, I have lost all patience and whenever I happen to get a call from these debt collectors I give them ALL the information about her that I know. I know what city she lives in and where she went to college.  I know this because she is now on Facebook!   I have gotten 16 calls from Midland Credit Management.  I finally answered today and of course, she is who they are looking for.   I filed a complaint with the CONSUMER FINANCE PROTECTION BUREAU (WWW.CONSUMERFINANCE.GOV/COMPLAINTS) They have a form online you can fill out for anything to do with DEBT collectors or financial calls to you.  The DO NOT CALL REGISTRY and FCC do not handle DEBT or Financial Calls.  This is where to go to file complaint.  Their phone number is 855-411-2372.  

Call here every day. Once in the morning and then in the early evening. NEVER leave a message.

For 3 weeks, I received 1 missed phone call per day on my cell phone between 12 noon and 1p.m. EST during the work week (Mon.-Fri.).  Incoming phone # caller ID displayed "St. Charles, MO".  No message was left.  

Today I answered the incoming call.  It was a guy named Charles White looking for someone named Barbara Johnston.  I said no one by that name was at my phone number.  He asked again.  I said no.  Then he proceed to say that for quality purposes, the call was being recorded.  Then he said thank you, and hung up.

Not a relative, friend, or neighbor -don't know a Christopher J.. Called by Reference Perf. left message asking for Christopher. Then another collection agency called as soon as they stopped. They hung-up as soon as I asked who was calling and told them no Christopher.  Ref. Pref. was told no Christopher and not to call back. They called back !! Now this agency is calling apparently passing the debt collection around. I have no debts and I'm on the Attorney Generals No Caller List. Even if they allow debt collectors to call -harrasment to individuals who are in no-way connected to their collection has to be illegal.

Called me while I was trying to lay my son down for a nap, and referred to me as Brian.

Pretty sure they had a wrong number, as I'm a female. No debts, either.

I love reading how well respected and loved debt collectors are. Second to those providing legal advice without a license to practice law.

There is no lower job on the planet. Vampires all of them. Cheats, liars, and manipulators who even impersonate law enforcement officers (call any LEO agency and ask them how frequently do collectors impersonate being a police officer?)

I respect any person who would collect unemployment, starve, suffer, or give up more than I ever would a debt collector. Debt Collectors look down their noses at debtors and treat them like trash. The most ironic thing about that is the fact that no debt collectors is proud of their vocation, lies on career day at school for their child, has no friends, and is a person without morals.

Also ironic is the fact that they can not risk or afford to tell their neighbors and friends what they do or they will become social outcast, which is what they are whether they tell anyone or not in the first place!

Oh, Michael Bell!  I thought I was done dealing with him three years ago.  This company finds closed debts and claims them as their own and try to convince you to pay them a portion, preferably $1000, in order to stop the Sheriff's from serving you.  LIES!  I was tricked, but due to his manner of speaking to me, I was able to speak to his superior and received my money back within minutes.  DO NOT FALL FOR IT!  I had paid off my debt and had the documents to prove it, so they had not choice but to refund me my money ASAP, the debt was more than 7 years old.

it depends on the state, they can call...but when you tell them to stop calling you they are suppose to stop & they can call you at work, but if you tell them to stop, guess what they have to, they can call on a land-land, but if a cell is a your only form of communication, they have to stop if you ask them to...

Actually it depends on the state...but you are correct if you tell them to stop calling they are supposed to stop, even if it's you.

Psychopathic criminals can spoof caller id. Just because that number shows on your phone does not mean it is actually that company calling. Yesterday this number called my cellphone and activated the recording device on my phone when they called in. I do not know any legal collection companies that usurp the recording device on your phone when they call, do you ? Gangstalkers use tricks like this to harass and obtain personal info. This collection company MAY be wanting to contact you but then rogue criminals will use this data to harass, stalk, for identity theft, selling your personal info etc.....

Received a call from this # for someone else on my cell phone.  Told them it was a wrong number, they wanted to know if I knew that person, could they leave a message for me to pass on to that person!  I said no...they turned right around and called my home phone, which is a brand new #.  He said it was a business matter for this person they were trying to reach.  I do not want calls from these people!!!!!

They just started calling here on Christmas Eve, isn't that nice of them???  

You should still call back and gave them send you whatever debt you supposedly owe in writing because if they're calling whatever it is, is likely on your credit report.  You need to dispute it and have it removed.  It also could be something small and silly like a doctor copayment you forgot at a visit, etc.

If it is a debt collector, wouldn't they leave a message. I keep getting their calls and I didn't know who it was until I checked this site. If they needed me, would they have said something? My voicemail even has my name.
