Got a call from this number on Boxing Day

Received call and let it go to voicemail with no message being left.

who calls people they don't know at 8pm on christmas eve.  Obviously i didn't answer then looked up the number and  to my surprise i find this .  Do these people think we are really that stupid.  Thank you for the info everyone and i will continue to question these odd area code calls.  I don't know what their call was about as they didn't leave a message but i'm sure it would of been more of the same as above.

Just had the same number call.  Really difficult to identify origin for these calls, which is why I just plain DO NOT answer.  I thought we were on a DNCL but I think that got sold offshore by the number of calls from iffy numbers that we get.  They are becoming more and more prevalent, and I fear for the elderly; it's very easy to be scammed, some  of the callers are quite convincing.

Don't know who they were ---  east Indian accent.  Said they were from ADT  or ATT security.  I cut them off as soon as I heard the accent and security portion.  

Answered. No one on the line. No recorded message played.

Looked some more and someone claims that the person said they were from ADT with a free alarm system? hmmm smells like a scam...

Got a call today from 6-644-881-9927. I don't know what the initial digit is as I've never seen a six as a country code. For this reason I didn't answer. No message left.

Same here ,  didn't pick up because I didn't know the number. New Zealand?????

This number called this afternoon,,,I did not answer it as the same number called last week and claimed they were ADT home security systems...I am on the Do not call list. this sucks that these calls can still get through....

BE CAREFUL!!! This is NOT a real call from ADT, they want your credit card info.....have scammed money from people's cards by placing a charge against their cards using code on back of card money goes to fake company PLUS people who say they are NOT home & will set up an appt have had their homes burglarized!!! AGAIN BE CAREFUL!!!!

Strangely, this site shows that number as being New Zealand.  Either way, still sounds lieka scam.

Didn't recognize number so didn't answer, no message left.  Internet search shows 644 area code is apparently Mexico??  Definitely, sounds like a scam company, getting around the DNCL.

Didn't recognize so didn't answer, no message left.  Looked it up and apparently is Welland, New Zealand!!  Certainly don't know anyone from there.  What the heck?  Is that the latest country being used as a way around the DNC lists?

Got a call claiming to be Michael from ADT offering me a free alarm system. He hung up when I remained  unconvinced that he was who he said he was and asked him for his last name. Called ADT. They said they do not do outbound telemarketing, although it was conceivable that one of their associated companies was doing some.  So I'm guessing a fraudulent sales technique by some related company, or worse...

Just got a call from this number. Told me that he was from Bell and that I had won a free ADT home alarm system. Asked him his name and he told me it was David Johnson (in an Indian accent). Asked him if there would be a monthly fee and he informed me that there would be. So I informed him that I would think about it and got a return number to call (1-888-283-3698) and talk to him again, but he told me that they did not have any extensions there, Finally he gave up and hung up on me. LOL

I received the same call from an "ADT representative, my number had been chosen for a free ADT security service bla bla bla" Asked if I would be home in order for a tech to install the free system. I kept declining the request and was about to hang up and he asked for my credit card number so he could bill me the $34 a month monitoring charge. He said the tech would be here shortly. When I said "playing along" that I had already declined, and would not accept an unwanted rep stepping foot on my property and I would defend my home with force as if he were a threat. He did not like this and muttered quietly as not to have the other "staff" in the back ground hear him. He began to say " F*** you, f*** your mother" etc etc. I tried to call the # back 1-644-881-9927, but the auto operator came on and said " your call can not be completed as dialed etc. Pricks trying to phish for credit card info or to see if someone is going to be home etc. F*** 'em.

Got a call from this number. The person claimed his named was Jonathan Statt and that he was calling from ADT Home Security offering us a free system and lifetime maintenance. This is a scam, they are really trying to figure out whether or not you have a Home Security System in place already. I contacted ADT directly thru their online chat from their website and inquired about it, he told me it would be a retailer calling and asked from my postal code. He then told me there were no retailers in our area and to be wary.

Called and didn't leave a message.  Reported to CRTC cause I'm on the DNCL.
