Still up to the same old tricks. Told him "Mario" that my item had been sold. Then deleted my post on craigslist. If people worked as hard getting a real job as they do scamming they might actually get somewhere in life.

"Luis Fernandez" trying to get me to sell my grandma's cemetery plots to him via PayPal. First, not a local number. Second, you have to be physically at the cemetery to sign the deed transfer. THIRD: don't ask the condition of a cemetery plot!  I told him there were *currently* no dead bodies in it...  Time wasters. Total fraud. I told him as much after finding this website - so thanks everyone!

When I got a message from him I checked the number since it was out of my area. Then read all your stories and texted him the items were just sold. This guy still has the nerve, unbelievable!

Just got the same message regarding a wall unit....after reading these posts here I replied that I had already sold the furniture...He actually wrote me back, asking what other items I had!!?? I replied, "I have a police badge, handcuffs and a good lawyer, interested?"  Needless to say he hasn't responded.  Definitely a scam. No one buys huge pieces of furniture sight unseen to be shipped cross country.

STAY AWAY!!! IT IS A SCAM!!! They even send you a fake-paypal email, pretending it's coming from the official paypal website. Be careful!!
What they do is they offer you more money of what you asked for; that difference is the "movers o shippers fee". And they want you to send that money via Western Union overseas. They claim  that after you send that money, you'll be able to see your money in your bank. 100% lies!
If you have used PayPal before, you know it NEVER works in that way. Be careful guys!
You can forward their scam mails to: spoof@paypal.com (Paypal division that seeks and fight scams)

Just got a text for my living room set. Same m.o. want to pay for shipping to NY from TN. I told him that he will have to have his shipping company pick it up at a business address and for 25% of the asking price to be put into my paypal to be verified before I release the business address. Caught on to this scam as he asked how long I have had it and the condition. In my posting I have all that info. His text seem very robotic. It's a scam. Sad that he had to use a Sailors title.

Called on a furniture posting on Craigslist.  Even after telling him my family member was a detective for the local police force, and would need his creditentials, he asked for my home address.

Re. "It would cost more to ship than the cost of the furinture new", the high shipping cost is exactly what this scammer is looking for. It will include the shipping cost in its paypal payment to you with instruction to forward the shipping cost to its shipper. The paypal payment will come up bad (paypal will claw it back) but the shipping cost you forwarded is your own money that you will lose in this scam. The scammer is after the shipping cost and has no interest in the furniture.

I received the same text on a  ad for a coffee end table set. This is  a scammer with a google voice number. You can tell because they post the title of your ad in the text and the questions are asked the way someone who English is not their first language would say....

Hi. I received the same text message from a posting I added this morning. I would be very hesitant about this. This person said they were a sailor and wanted to send a shipping company by my house to get it, without even seeing it in person. I requested certified funds in advance, prior to moving forward with anything. Be cautious, Elizabeth!!!!
