Called and said that I won a vacation package in Hawaii etc..Garbage..

They called me and said that I won a vacation package in Hawaii because of my demographic area etc.. I asked them what is my name and they said they only have my #. I asked i which city I live ? They say they dont know.....
Garbage SCAM ! SCAMMERS

Same thing ... those are garbage scam calls and whenever I get one
I report it...that way maybe they'll finally get spoted for illegal activities and get the trip they deserve...
but not necessarilly in Hawayii...  ;)

this number called my CELL phone even though I have it on the do not call list. same thing...huge offer of a vacation. garbage

They called to offer me a lower interest rate on my current credit card balance because of my "good credit history", yet did not know my current balance or interest rate.  Did not give me an opt out option.  When I told them my total credit card balance was $1600, they hung up on me.  Don't think they could have beat my 2.9% rate anyway.

Recently received a call from this number, but I didn't pickup as I didn't recognize it.  A voice mail was left about winning a vacation.  Usual garbage scam.

What bugs me is that both land and cell numbers are on the Do Not Call list, but still get called.

Was called by this company and when pressed 3 to remove myself from the calling list even tho I was on the do not call list already was sent to the call center and harassed by the agent on the phone.

Oh lord FBI that's effing hysterical.

Received several calls from 646-404-9079 on my office phone.  They will not leave messages and they hang up when you start questioning there motives.  I'm getting tired of someone always trying to scam me!!

I got the call on ID, but thanks to your forum #'s now blocked.

Received call from this number and recorded message said we could lower our credit card number.   Just hung up on them half thru the message but think I will listen next time and use the FBI comment.  Love it.  Still laughing.

These a**holes called me three times. I asked for info about his name and the company he represented and he asked why did I need that? I told him I was FBI and I was investigating him and his company for a fraud case I was working on. He hung up. No more calls back to me. ( No fraud on my part I am F.B.I. which means Fat, Bald and Ignorant...I didn't lie). Strike one for us, I freaked that SOB out completely.

Received 4 phone calls on both my home & cell phone. First 3 were an automated machine saying this was "Credit Card Services, calling about our credit card. That there was nothing wrong with it but they wanted to help lower my interest rates. If you are interested press "9". I hung up on the first call to my cell from 646-404-9079. At home I received 2 calls from 701-217-1003. I then pressed 9. The man who picked up was Omar (strong East Indian accent), which put my radar on for a rip-off. He asked if all my credit card debt was over $3,000. When I said yes, he said they could lower my interest rates on my Visa/MC cards. I needed to just verify my zip code. He then needed the expiration of one of my credit cards for verification, along with the bank. He asked what the balance was. I asked him if he the account in front of him to give me what the limit on it. He then said "I am only trying to help you lower your interest rates." I said I need to verify who you are and to give me a phone number to call to verify the company. He wouldn't tell me, he said that he would give me the first 4 digits of the card. When still wouldn't give him any info, he said "I don't think your the card holder". Again, I asked for a number to call the company to verify. Omar said, I can give the next 2 digits to prove to me that he had the account in front of him. I said, Okay. He gave them to me, then said that I need to give him the rest of the numbers to verify I actually had the card. I said "No", I need you to give me a phone number to contact their company. This kept going for at least 15 mins. He said that anybody can get my credit card #, from my mail, because it is on my statements. When I said "No they can't". He said, "Yes they get them from my statements in the mail." I said "I don't get mine in the mail". He got flustered and then said that he would give me all his info. I said okay, what is the phone number, your address & id #. He said that I need to give him the rest of the card # first. I said no and hung up. Then about 20 mins. later Omar calls back & my caller id just says "Call Center" & phone #310-388-6861. Omar says that I think there was a bad connection. I said no and if he wouldn't give me the info to verify. He said he would. I asked for a phone number. He started again asking for my credit card #. I said no & good-bye. He hasn't called again today.

Same as others above. Recorded message saying I can lower my interest rate, pressed 9 for an agent, asked the girl for a company name and she hung up.

just got a recorded call to lower interest rates on credit cards, pressed 9 to speak with someone and a girl answered and said if I wanted my interest rates lowered, I replied I wanted to be taken off their call list, she then hung up.  I called the number back and it went to voice mail and said this person cannot receive messages.

they said they were from Credit Card Services (I think or something like that) offered to lower interest rate, which was something I was eligible for but would soon expire.  when i pressed 9 to talk to agent (Amanda answered) I said that I wanted to be taken off of list and she hung up.  I had a call like this in the past and in that call they asked for my credit card number - when I asked why they didn't have it already, they said they needed to verify.  It was a way for them to get your information...
