Debt Collector
I was called for a job possition this morning because I kept on sending my resume on craigslist. I do live in the New York area to work with these people after replying to a recent adds posted online.  The company seems legit once we get there but the secret begins when you ask how will you be compensated for the work.  Just for tease and learning what they do I went to their interview for customer service representative and saw that they pay representative if they make successful collections of some "debts" people have.  I have worked as a debt collector, and a rather successful one for several companies but this center from the moment I stepped into the location I can tell it is fake.  If you get a call from 646-434-2472 or if you call this number a representative answers don't pay mind and let them know you will record the call but do not provide personal info.  Representative are asked to use an alias name, and HR Staff don't even collect proper documentations for working at this company.  I was invited to join their team without several things that a company should ask for.  They do not conduct a background check or ask for your personal documents and said that I will be recompensed when the money is transferred to my own bank account.  Very unorganized, and I was hired on the spot... Hopefully nobody else wastes their time answering them, soliciting jobs with them, or even stealing from other fellow citizens or working class people.  I repeat, I have work for collector agency from official call centers and don't feel guilty of giving another person a warning that they should pay what they owe and remind them of the consequences or advice them of possible ways to make arrangements [as long as the debt are legit]... but for this "company" I was hired too fast and I am sure it does not follow the legal or ethical procedures of collecting such "debt".  Worked there for half a shift and quitted the position because I sensed trouble.
DO NOT REPLY it is a scam, it is happening in New York City (a very diverse city) but they are taking advantage of limited english speaker because those are the ones that fall for the job.  I came in to see how is it like and with no intention to harm others but I must make this clear it is in New York City, and they take advantage of everyone including employees.

I receive International calls on my landline regularly from a friend in Ireland - private residence landline.  It has always come up on Caller ID as "Unknown Name, Unknown Number."  The last few weeks it comes up on caller ID as this "HEWITT ASSOC" with the number 646-434-2901.

How could a private number suddenly be coming up with this incorrect (and apparently scam) name and number?  Was my phone company (Verizon) hacked?

Anyway, people should know that this may be bigger than just a scam company if calls from a known source are listed on Caller ID as them.  That tells me that the Phone Company computers have been hacked.

So *some* people may be receiving calls from people overseas but the caller ID is being listed as this scam company.  Very scary.

Call was answered from 646-434-2472 and man with foreign accent said he was representing a law firm who was suing my wife. Knowing full well that this was a scam, I told him if he had a legimate beef send a a certified letter from the law firm. That' s a normal procedure! Repeated my demand to him but he got mad and I told him do as I say period - he hung up! This crapulous type of harassment should not be tolerated and must be reported!

I have been receiving phone calls from Officer Albert Anthony from NY Civil court stating that I took out a pay day loan and he has a law suit against me and what I was going to do about it. I told him that I was going to file arrasment charges against him. He stated that he was going to harrase me 10 times a day until I pay the loan off. I told him that if he needs to speak with me that he could send me information by certified mail. These people are crazy. Do not give them any information.

I received a call from this number today.  I block unknown callers so it went stratight to my voice mail.  It was a foreign guy who speaks horrible english.  He said his name was officer Anthony from New York Civil Code of Fraud Investigations.  He said that my husband has a lawsuit against him filed in the courts and that we need to call him to get information.  It sounded really strange to me so I decided to google the number and here I am.  So glad I did that.

These people keep calling...they are Indians.  They have threatened me and MY friends.  I think I know how we got on their mailing list.  Several weeks ago I applied for a pay day advance.  These websites are not brokers or lenders; they are merely "networks" and when you fill out the online application, it gets transmitted to all sorts of pay day places.  They have access to your phone number, bank account, social security number, etc.  Plus they have the names of your references and they call THEM and threaten THEM too.The really sleazy part is that they identify themselves as attorneys and claim that they are from the New York Civil Court!! The fact is, I have NEVER taken an advance from this so-called PayDayOne place.  Be aware!  Don't apply for anything online!

Yes they called me as well and left me a voicemail.  Actually 2 voicemails on the same day.  I live in Michigan and somehow they got my cell #.  The guy had an accent and he was so hard to understand.  He said this message is in Contact to then he said my friends name.  He said he was officer: Anthony Lee From New York Cival Court from the Dept. of Fraud Investigation.  Telling me there is a case filed in the court something with a lawsuit against me.  Then he also told me a SSN and a birth date.  Which was not mine.  How did these theives get my cell number?  I am so glad I googled this # cause I was freaking out.  Also when you try to call back the  # 646-434-2472 it has a recording saying this ext. mailbox is full so don't even bother calling the #.  So now this site tells me they will be calling me again.  I guess they will call you again to bug you so becareful and call your local Dept. to file a complaint.

idt from PayDayOne.  He stated he had a case pending against me.  Gave me 646-434-2472 to call back regarding this legal action.  I called it back and spoke to Erika.  She stated I had money deposited into my account and that I had not paid it back.  I told her there was no money ever deposited into my account, therefore, no payment due.  She also said she was going to contact my bank  I said no, she was not going to contact my bank, I told her I would have my bank contact her.  She said I could have my attorney or my bank contact her.  I told her I would have my attorney contact her regarding my suing them for harassment.  This is a huge hoax, I will have my bank and my attorney call them.

Not sure when they started naming people with thick accents "Norman" but that person called my cell phone over 25 times in less than 10 minutes. They were calling back to back so much that I couldn't even dial out of my cell phone because they kept calling.

I blocked the number on my cell then he called my job.

Screw this guy...and his threats. What's funny is if I owe something which is totally possible, if they could just map it out and tell me what is what and lose the dramatics I would address it.

But this freakshow is going to get nothing because I can't follow up harassment

So these people call me with the names of Officer Rick Jones and Brian Williams. Pretty sure it is the same person. Real thick Indian accent. Told me that I owe over 500 dollars to some payday loan place and that they are downloading my case now. I specifically told them that I wanted to see documentation proving the debt and that's where things went interesting. They then told me that I had to pay first and then I would recieve proof. When I said that this wasn't good enough, they said that they would call my job every two minutes until I got fired from it. These guys are a complete scam.
