I got a call just like this person has been described but using a different phone number 646-937-9351...He said his name was Frank Murphy and that it was urgent that myself or my attorney get back in touch with him. It was time sensitive and that if he didn't hear from me that he wished me good luck with what happens next. He also had a thick accent.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

Caller with thick accent asked for one of our employees.    She claimed she is from a law firm and had received complaints about the employee.    She mentioned his social security number, but I couldn't tell if she said she had it or if she wanted it.    When I asked for her company name, she hung up on me.  This is the second or third time someone has asked for this particular employee.    I've never had someone come right out and mention a social security number!.......not a good sign.   No company name, just "wireless caller".

Nathan Brown asked to speak to one of my employees.  He left a message with his phone number 646-455-2770 and said he was from ACLS and that my employee needs to call him.

I seemed to remember that number and that a person with an accent has called for some of my other employees before.  So, I looked the number up on line and it is reported to be fradulant.

I have more important things to do with my time.

I got the same call also from a man with a thick accent alleging that I had committed fraud and that I needed to contact attorney Frank Murphy with the case number.  I called the number and realized that it was only a couple of numbers off of the guy who called with the thick accent.  The person who answered sounded just like the one I just talked to and faked like he was transferring me to the attorney "Frank Murphy."   Once I got transferred, the person who answered (also sounded just like the other two) identified himself as Frank Murphy and asked "could he help me?"  I told him no but maybe I could help him since I worked for the FCC!  I got no response and then told him not to call my number anymore.  I have not gotten a call since

OMG! The same exact thing was said to me. When I refused to answer the questions by evoking my constitutional right to not do so, she became threatening and told me that my Atty. and I had to be at the Federal Courthouse in N.Y. City within the 24 hour time limit!! She even threatened jail time...who are these people??

I also got a call from these nitwits. I got several calls from this number from several different people but haven't answered any of them. The last call the guy left a message that said I owed them 5400 dollars for a payday loan that I never got. He said that if my lawyer didn't call him only god could save me. I reported it to my local authorities and they said they would see what they could do.

I did receive several phone calls from this number 6464552770 and they were so mean and sounded harsh and asking to pay back a loan that i don't even know about. If any of you did get such phone calls, report them and something will be done. these are from India with their strong accent.

This person, so called Michael Brown, called me like five times a day for several days.  He was hard to understand and stated that if I didnt pay what I owed that I would be in big trouble.  I told him to send me records before I was giving him any money.  I had no idea what he was talking about.  H said that he felt sorry for me, that whatever happened to me was basically my fault for not paying my bill.  He called my work too!  I yelled at him and havent heard anything since.  Is there anything we can do to get rid of this heartless scam artist preying on people????  Unbelievable!!!

Received a call on my cell and work number from a man with heavy European accent, very hard to understand, but stating I had to call him back or my attorney that it was time sensitive and a very urgent matter.

I did fall for it , I was tired of the harrassing phone calls on my cell and at work . I broke down got the information of what to do to pay them . I paid $ 200 on 4 Vanilla reload cards then I would call the number they gave me give them the number on the back of the reload card . I paid a total of $804 . He was a very heavy accented gentleman . I was very dumb, I have let the sheriffs department know they are still calling and also the security people here at work .

PLEASE DONT LET THEM HARRASS YOU, CALL THE POLICE AND TURN THE INFORMATION INTO THEM.

Same old story as everybody else, they called me from a different number yesterday. I knew the guy was not an attorney. I asked his Bar Card # and told him I would not pay a dime without evidence of a bill or collection or the original debt....he hung up. I started calling them back and harassed them for calling me a dozen times yesterday. I left them the harassing voice messages and I called so much that they refused to take my calls. Turn the table against them. Know your rights and it is illegal for a collection agency to threaten you with jail or criminal charges on a debt that may or may not be yours!!! It is against the Fair debt and consumer Act and it is a punishable crime being committed against you!!! They play on people's fear and ignorance to send them money via money pack or western union...your money will go to India!

I have been getting threating call from some one by the name of Mike Brown.  He claims to work for US cash Network and that they are taking legal action against me for an unpaid  payday loan.  I have never taken a payday loan.  I asked this person to please provide me with the proof/documentation that I have gotten a loan through this company.  It was never furnished.

He called me ten time s today and  I said I am not paying you anything you need to send me paper work before I pay anything, he said he cant pay paper work until I pay and I said this is a scam then and he hung up

OMG !!!  LOl!!   This same idiot left me the same message on my home telephone Monday 2-18-13 and left me the same message.  I've actually gotten this same call now about 4 times over the past 4 years or so..   The first time I went off on the guy.  I'm a paralegal so like u I told them how stupid he was and if their was a "legal action" against me where had the Complaint been filed etc. Just like you, I got no info just that I was going to jail.  One of the lawyers heard me go off that day so she got on the phone and broke it down for him again..No calls for at least 1 1/2 years.  Then out of the blue just like now..they called again.  I don't know how I got on their list but now my employer and I just hang up or ignore the messages.  I've reported in every way I can but somehow I am on the "list".

This man, heavily accented, threatened to make me lose my job and called me a fraud lady, saying that I needed to get my lawyer to call him about a legal case against me for a payday loan for 300 dollars.  He said he was with a company called US Cash Network and that I borrowed money from them and it was transferred into my account but I did not pay it back.  He knew the bank I was with but he said that the loan was from before I even opened the account.  FRAUD?  Me?
