I didn't answer and no message was left. Don't have a clue why they would call. I currently don't work and my husband is self employed. Never contacted them. Will block the number. Caller ID said "Brooklyn NY"

Sterling Infosystems is evil. They issued a background check on me that was filled with false information. My potential employer denied me a job based on the false information. I called Sterling and supplied them with information that would have fixed the background check, but they didn't take any action. Searching on "Sterling Infosystems lawsuits" yields a lot of really nasty stuff on this unprofessional company.

Hi

I had the same issues with these guys. They are playing with people lives and jobs.
I lived in Italy for 7 yrs and I ve sent them my expired ID card. They were asking for the italian passport. So stupid ....I explained to them that I am not an italian citizen and what I had was only the ID card. For them is NO and NO ... italian passport or the background check is incomplete.
They are waiting for 7 bussiness days to get in contact with a company that had closed in 2010 :))) or they are asking me to provide pay stubs 8-9 yrs old from Italy.
This company is a shame

Sterling Infosystems singlehandedly cost me a job offer when they insulted my previous employers, got mad at me when they could not answer my questions, etc.  They are unprofessional, untrustworthy and I strongly recommend that no firm ever uses them again.  They have reflected extremely poorly on their current client.

I got a call from a guy with a thick Indian Hinglish accent who could not verify that he was with Sterling Infosystems, as claimed (all he had to do was give me the code from the original email).  He was difficult to understand and wanted documents from 13 years ago that he says are needed by his client, my potential employer.  I told him that it would take a year to find them in the attic, if I even still had them.  He also said that he looked in the wrong state for one of my employers, even though I had put all the correct information on the form.  When I tried to call this number back, I got a 'number no longer in service' message.  I have had many background checks, passed them all.  This time, my last employer called asking about Sterling Infosystems because they didn't trust them, either.  I grudgingly gave them the OK to cooperate with Sterling because I want the job, although I can never trust them.  Their tech support was only good from 'Jim.'  I could not understand the other two and they tried to force useless 'answers' on me.  The emails were all filled with Indian phrasing and grammar errors ('would' instead of 'will', typos, etc.).  I found many similar complaints on Internet blogs for other New York numbers identified with Sterling and sent them to my potential HR firm.  I also found records of lawsuits against them for finding false criminal records for people with the same name but in different states, etc.  I hope to still get the job.  I hope they do it right this week for me.  I pray.
