I received an incoming call from the number. I did not answer.  I have nothing for sale, nothing posted on Craigslist, I'm not on any social network.  I live a pretty dull life so have few friends.  This call was unsolicited.  Since all my recent calls have been for some sort of credit card interest reduction offer, I have stopped answering calls from numbers I do not know.  I have no clue how they got my number

Just got the same call on my cell; didn't pick up; they didn't leave a message; saw this and am leaving this feedback so others can see the dates of the calls from this number.

Got a call from this number.  I didn't answer it.  I appreciate websites like this.  Riptide, if everyone here makes you so sick, why do you troll these websites?  Does it make you feel big to put people down you don't even know?

Same thing, thru text... sailor, NY, paypal, Told him I googled his number and we wont be doing business, he tried to encourage me to just set up a paypal account to see he isnt a scam. I said your lucky if no one has reported you yet cuz I am, and he didnt respond. Unfortunatly I did give him my address in the beginning of the convo before I googled him, hope nothing comes of that. Hopefully no one gets taken by this looser

Unknown number called me, when I  returned call, voice mail said "the google subscriber you called is currently unavailable"

I also have nothing advertised for sale.  I have been googling odd numbers that call my cell, including this one.  Typically they are sales calls or the credit card services scam, so this one is new.  They didn't leave a message, so I didn't talk to a sailor.  I keep track of these and occasionally report them to the FCC if I'm suspicious of a scam.  Only once have I called the police.  Typically, I don't answer, and haven't gotten scammed.  

I do appreciate people posting to these boards as a double check, but please do take part of riptide's advice and call the police and/or FBI if you have been scammed or have information to help stop scammers/crooks.

First of all I have nothing for sale posted anywhere on the Internet when I got a phone call from this number and they hung up immediately I thought it suspicious when I googled the the phone number and found this site I found it frankly quite interesting.  Since I had nothing to sell he didn't do anything to me those of you who have had a scam run on you do need to contact the police the previous poster has a point

INSTEAD OF ALL YOU GETTING ON THIS USELESS WEBSITE AND COMPLAINING TO NO ONE, GET ON THE DAMN TELEPHONE AND CALL YOUR LOCAL POLICE AND MAKE A POLICE REPORT.
THEN CALL THE F.B.I. AND MAKE A REPORT.  REPORT THE SCAMMERS TO THE CORRECT AGENCY AND NOT SOME STUPID BULLETIN BOARD LIKE THIS.
YOU ALL MAKE ME SO SICK.
POLICE AND F.B.I., ARE THE ONES YOU NEED TO CONTACT.

Total scam, don't even answer....

just got a call from this number (on landline) didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer. Went to answering machine, never left a message.  Decided to post "just one more time" that someone got a call from this number.  
Tried to call this number back, blocking my number, and it immediately went to a voice mail message saying, "the google subscriber you called is not available, please leave a message"

Same thing just happened to me.. Did not answer no message. Googled and found this. Adding to my iblacklist.

Received  a call from this number, did not answer it since I didn't recognize the number; searched internet to find others getting calls from same number with suspicions of it being a scam, so I'm adding the occurrence to the list with the others.

Got the same message about being a sailor at sea and wanted to send a shipping company....seemed fishy wanting to buy something without looking so googled it and here we are.  Thanks for posting!

Wanted to buy a item I had on Craigslist,same old story from NY and was a sailor at sea.Sounds like BS to me SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got a text from the same guy saying that he wanted to buy something from my website. He said that he had contacted a shipping company and wanted to make arrangements. Because you can do that on a Sunday..Yeah right! His grammar was broken and hard to understand. He said that he wanted the piece for Christmas, etc. and wanted to "proceed with business".  If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, then it's a duck. Sellers beware of these scammers!

Same exact thing happened to me.  Claimed to be a sailor currently at sea.  Needs my info to contact a shipping company.  Blah blah. Told him I take cash only and never heard back.

This exact thing just happened to me.  I got as far as giving him my address and sent an invoice.  It felt strange so I googled and found this info that it was a scam.  What can he do now that he has my address?

Claims he's a sailor from NY asks no questions about the things listed for sale, and says will send out a shipping company to pick up.Beware!Total scam!

What we thought all along.

This guy tried to get me too. Wanted me to send money with Western Union to pay the shipping company that was going to pick up the desk he was going to buy from me in CA and have it shipped to NY. I went along with it and he said he put the money into my PayPal account and I got email saying they were PayPal and give them the transaction info from Western Union. I checked my PayPal account and no money, called PayPal and they told me that they would address me by name in any emails they send and that there was no pending deposit into my account. I texted the dude back saying he was a scam and haven't heard back.

DONT DO IT, GOT THE SAME CALL. TOTAL SCAM!!!!

I don't know if this is a scam but for sure it didn't sit well with me. Why buy a used couch from CA when you live in NY? I looked up this number before texting further and found this. Be very careful! same exact scenario as above. Texted to the number about a posting and asked for home address to calculate shipping. Guy said he was in NY and is a sailor. Can't pick up the couches himself so would arrange for a transport company pick up- ok to pay PayPal but I do't believe this is an honest deal.

I got a txt message from this number within 12 hours of posting a For Sale Ad on a website. I have seen this SCAM before, so I immediately Searched for this number on the Internet and came across updates that reorted similar experiences. They Texted me the line about Certifed Check, let it clear, then they would have a Trucking outfit pick up the merchandise. I Texted that I will only accept CASH. Never heard from them again.
