I have been getting calls like this and to day a lady named Sharon called me  a little bastered twice on a message she left me and they are going to have the cops come and get me after they get me fired.    Friday they said I was suppose to go to walmart and get a pre paid credit card and call them with the number.  I can't believe there isn't an agency out there that can stop this kind of stuff.  It gets pretty  old!!!!!!!!!

Have received several voice mails from "Michael Brown" threatening legal action if I don't return his calls.  As with the other reports he has thick Indian accent and sounds like he is reading phonetically from a script and you can hear others in the background "reading" similar threats to others.  This was tried on me last year  and got me all upset but after inquiring around was told to ignore it was a scam.  This time around I don't answer the phone and never call back knowing it is a scam.  I've received 3 calls so far and I'm sure there will be more and eventually they will give up.

The calls I have gotten from 646-513-2794 originate as a local call with the name showing "Brahma Ruchir" which shows up on caller ID as 319-471-4497, but asks for a return call to 646-513-2794.  As someone previously noted, the English spoken is barely understandable, although the callers always give an American name.  The last one I got said his name was "Jason Carter," I believe, although it was hard to understand.  I too was threatened with a call to my employer, which I was able to laugh at since both my husband and I are self-employed.  We have never had any loans except with local banks, and each one has been paid off, including our mortgage.  These calls are completely bogus, and these people should be arrested.  I feel so sorry for people who are getting these calls at work.  The last caller threatened an "unfolding legal action" if we did not call back.  I told him that if he called again I would call the police, but honestly, unless someone takes a truly definitive action and follows up, these parasites will probably continue to get away with it.  What good is the "Do Not Call" list if no one stops these people?

Someone called from #5042982409 claiming my cousin owed them money from some cash advance place and he did not receive anything. This man  threatned him as well as myself, he was rude and saying someone would be arrested. I asked for info, he hung up.  I called back he called me all sort of nasty names saying blacklisted on the ss#, jail time, reported th state attorney office. Seems like something could be done abouit this.

These people have been harrassing me for a couple of years now.  Originally they represented themselves as Kroger Legal Assoc. from California.  I contacted the actual office of William Kroger in California and was told by one of his assistants that this has been going on for quite some time by a group from India. They somehow got access to an online company's database and started harrassing people.  He said they have stolen much money from many people.  Very threatening but nothing ever happens.  Like everyone else I do not owe any money.  Usually if you tell them that you have looked up their info and they are scamming you they will stop calling.

This same man that called me the other night, this man that had a heavy Indian accent called my phone today, talking about this is his final attempt on call me that i was not answering his calls when he called, i was avoiding him at all cost,due to some reason  that he didn't recieve any thing from me, which ion will be taken against me at  my place of employment n at my residence, which might put me in a big legal mess n i was to call him back at this number, and if he didn't hear from me in a couple of hours, he would wish me the best of luck as this situation totally unfolds on me.

the same thing is happening to me.  he stated that I was going to jail and they were going to make me lose my job if I didnt pay.  strong accent, could give me any legitmate documentation.  I made a complaint with my attorney general and I sent them an email stating to cease and desist.  they have stressed me out for 3 weeks now!

I just received a call from the same people.  He stated had I ever been picked up and thrown in jail.  He stated I had a payday loan but could not tell me what company, what amount and when I allegedly took out this loan.  I told him I had to be notified in writing by the USPS of all the info and that was the law.  He stated that is a lie and that he would down load it at 6:00 PM today.  I also told him I do not have any payday loans and that if he could not give me any info that good luck.  These scammers have got to be stopped.

This is a scam.  I've been receiving calls now for over a month.  Same thing every time.  Indian accent always using common names.

One Minute His Name Was David, The Next Minute He Said His Name Was Matthew, Then He Changed It To Christopher...

I had a similar experience a few months ago. If they say you have any kind of debt or even say the name of a company you actually owe money too, the company the caller represents is unable to take any legal action against you until they have mailed you the correct paperwork. If you tell them that you will take their calls seriously as soon as you receive the correct documentation. They probably won't stop calling right away but if you make it clear that you are not an easy mark, they will eventually stop bothering you.

I received a threatening message from David Wilson and he told me I had a loan out last month Oct. 2012 and that I owed 1353. I asked for the lawsuit info and what account was the money put in and he hung up in my face. I called back and he pretended to be a lady name Kimberly and said that he was not available. I will be giving this to the FBI, States attorney and to the New York's states attorney!!!

I got this same call froma Max Johnson today stating the same thing.  I have spoken with an attorney & they have advised not to call these people back.  They are scams.  I am reporting them to the FBI as of today.

I keep getting a call from this number about my sister having a law suit against her and they were going to black list her SSN.  Like 6 a day  I called them back and told them that I had called the police and if they called me again that I would be suing them for harrassment charges.  They guy said f**k you and hung up the phone.

I received a number from the same number 646-513-2794. A man by the name of David kept calling me on yesterday harassing me. He stated I need to call him immediately or legal actions will take place. I called because I wanted to know what this was regarding. David stated I owed a day loan. He stated they are not interested in me calling them and getting to the bottom of it. He was so rude and he had me ss#, my work address, my name and email address. He stated they were going to arrest me at work. I asked to speak with a supervisor he stated he was. He has a strong accent and is very rude. He read me a affidavit. I do not know who this man is or how he got my number. I just want to do something before he tries to do something fraudulent.

The number the person is calling from will say his name is Michael Brown and his supervisor name is David Walker, they have an deep accent like from another country. They are trying to collect funds, saying they are a collection agancy from a online payday laon. I told him I did not have a pay day laon and he kept saying he will file a law suit in the am by 11am. I hung up on him.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I  just received a call from a Max Johnson @ 646-513-2794, indicating he is calling from a law office and I need to hold and speak with his attorney. Regarding a payday loan from a long time ago (which I never opened a payday loan a long time ago...) and he could not disclose any information. He called me numerous times on last night on my cell phone from a unknown and private number after I hung up on him yesterday.  He called my work number several times already and the number says Verizon unknown.  He left a message saying it is in my best interest that I call him before the end of the day today with my attorneys information.  He has a very thick india accent and I can barely understand him.
