Does anybody else getting calls from this phone number?

Received a generic message at my cell # and a friend's cell # - returned the call after reading this and got a man with a middle eastern accent claiming to be "officer john smith" when i asked him what he was an officer from he kept pushing me to give him my name and address.  I refused, and suggested that he get that information from my lawyer, and he hung up on me.

A man named david johnson called and said I owed for a cash loa and would be going to jail if I didn't pay the settlement.

I had a call last week at work! I have no idea how they got my number at work but since I was out he left me a nasty message on my voice mail. Then today 03/10/2010 he called my cell phone! he said if I did not pay the money due of $495.00 I owed since 2007 I would need to pay $4,000.00 in fees! I got really nervouse  soI went outside since I was at work. I realized all the noise in the back was like a call center so I asked him the name of his company and his number also his name. He asked why I needed it. I said why would I pay a stranger money over the phone? I told him I was going to research his company before making any payments. Then I asked him again what bill did I owe. He said a loan mart from 2007! and I said I never took out a loan from them and specially not 2007. Hwe said o well its under your info so you have to pay it. He said I took out a loan on line! so I knew then it was not mine so I told him ok then take me to court and prove its mine. So again I asked him what his company name was and he hung up on me.

YES!  I was suckered into this also.  They told me that I owed a pay day loan and that I was to go to court the next morning and if I didn't that the police would be in my driveway to take me to jail and I would be spending at least 30 days behind bars and I would end up paying over $3000.00 court fees,yada yada!  I was scared to death and asked how I could take care of this out of court and he said here is the amount that you can settle out of court for, and it was a LARGE amount, not as much as the $3450 but with a husband on disability and I am not working any longer because I broke my shoulder in December and could not have surgery because of NO insurance, IT WAS A LOT OF MONEY that I really didn't have but I didn't want to go to jail either.  He had called my place of employment that I use to work at, and my friend who works there as well as being my neighbor brought it up on the internet and saw that it was a scam.  I tried to tell them that I paid that loan but I don't remember where the paper work was but as soon as I got home, I would call my bank and call them back and he said NO, it had to be taken care of now because they were closing in 15 minutes and if it wasn't taken care of, I would have to go to court the next morning or go to jail.  I WAS SCARED SO I PAID IT.  I gave them my credit card number and they took the amount out.  I cancelled the card once I found out that it was a scam.  The bank couldn't do anything because I gave them the number but once it cleared, I could dispute it and they would put the money back in the account.  Well, the next morning I got up, looked at my account on line from my bank and there was the amount and a phone number for "PAY MY BILL"  so I called them and explained the situation and they said that they didn't want to be a part of fraud so they released my money back into my account.  THANK GOD!  WATCH OUT FOR THESE IDIOTS.  There names are Mike Sinclair, Esten "Street and someone with the last name of Cooper.  I sure have learned my lesson, a hard one but I did learn!  NO MORE!

I got the same call...I owe money..yadda, yadda, I had gotten this same calls months and months ago from a different number too..total scammers..this time when "Alex White" called..I listened to him for a bit..saying I had a lawsuit against me, and I was in "big" trouble...blah, blah.i interuppted him and said, "Wait, let me guess..all I have to do is give you money right?"  He said yes, and I said, no thanks.I know this is a scam...f*** off and leave me alone..he's called me 8 times in a row today since that conversation this morning, and keep harassing me..if you get a call like this..hang up..report the number!

Yea, I also got a call from Jarod Johnson, but the phone number he called from is 1-646-461-3892. This guy is full of s**t and it really pissed me off. I almost want to go to south carolina and beat his little indian a**

This number has called as an unknown number.  It is a supposed Eric Wilso of arabic/Indian decent.  Stating a legal matter and needs attention right away.  At the end states he is an officer and has called both my cell and my work.  Yet this is a NYC cell.  Do not call back as it is a scam!

I cannot believe that I almost fell for this, thanks to my brother in law and all others in this website.  Disappointed!!  The guys is called chris and transferred me to a wenwood because i couldn't understand with the thick accent.

I got a a call today from Martin Thompson.....I agreed to pay him the money for the loan I never took with one condition.....I pay in person so I can beat the 880 dollars out of him.....He wasn't interesting my deal.....He decided not to collect......Watch out for this scamming S.O.B.

This number almost got me. i actually wired the money through western union. the guy gary thomas called my cell phone saying i had an outstanding balance on a payday loan from months ago. he tried to get 710.00 from a 300.00 loan. when i told him i wasnt paying that amnt he agreed to settle on the amount i originally owed, 360.00. he put me in touch with his "manager" David Johnston who was working with me. i asked who the originalcreditor was and he didnt know, btu assured me he would get it to me. he gave me the name of the "attorney" handling my case, which is Gerry P. Hunt, Myrtle Beach SC. i asked for this attorney name and number, address, and he said he couldnt give that out. all men i spoke to have heavy indian accents. i did stop the payment thansk to the post i read minutes after the money was wired. i reported them to western union fraud protection and am filing a police report with my local precinct. i have to close my acct with the bank ive been with for 12 years becasue im scared these ppl may also have my accts informstion. THIS IS A LESSON LEARNED. this is SCAM. DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY AND REPORT THEM

Same issue here.  Back in June of 2009, I applied online for a couple of cash advances and I assume that's where they obtained my personal info.  I called the BBB in NY and in LA and they have no info on this company.  When I called back, I asked to speak to an American and they kept transferring me to the same person they all use american names.  Complete harassment and it needs to be stopped!!

Yes I did aswell just a little while ago..same thing..calling my friends..called my work 3 times. I as well do not owe anything and they threated me as well. tried to call back keep saying crime prevention no details. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO...SCAMMERSN

Yup, I got 5 calls, my mother got 2 and my friends each got one?!  They all said they were looking for me and they were from the Dept of Crime Prevention.  It's a scam and how they got my info I will never know.

Justin davis called my bestfriend first scarring the hell out of her..claiming he is from crime Prevention..He also left a messade on  my cell phone,,I called he threatened that i will be locked up very soon if i dont pay back 4,000 and change for a loan from Pay Day cash...Smfh..I called him back 15 minutes later and said that my dad wanted to speak  him and my dad works for the government  he hung up on me....but he knew my ss number so ive reported him...this is messed up totally....

I got a call from a "PATRICK JONES" today. He called my cell phone about 6 times and then called my work number twice. I finally called their number back and was told either i pay $550.00 today or $4000.00 when they drag me out of my office to come to court. This guy even went as far as telling me i would probably be fired and locked up.
He kept pressing the issue and i ended our coverstaion with "fine i will see you in court tomorrow." He finally got mad and hung up on me. I cant believe these companies have been reported so many times and yet nothing can be done about these frauds

Yes these fools are calling my business 3x a day. The person gives the name James Walker but has a very heavy accent. When I looked up the phone number it I found out that the call is coming out of New York.I don't know what these people could possibly need from me. It's a scam I'm 100% sure. They have called some other people making similiar claims. Don't send them money if they should call you. The government will send registered mail if they need to contact you. They don't just make phone calls.

A co-worker who is out of the office today recieved a call back to back 3 times today.  After we had told him that she was out of the office he still asked for her.  He told the other coworker who answered the phone to take the number down and have her call him back because they knew each other. He could not even say her name and its an easy name.

received a call at my job. receptionist took a message and said i had left for the day.  Martin Thompson said that i was in big legal trouble and to call him back right away and he hung up on her.  what do i do?

Hey...... these people calling from INDIA, CHINA and other countries. where many many call centers are running for getting money from USA and UK citizens... ITS ALL SCAM... for running there business.

How it runs..........(for debt collection)

(A.) some people tries to get loan online on fack sites but could not succeed and their personal detail reached to site owners. which is sold by them to call centers at $4 to $6 / Person detail.

(B.) Some people really took loans and could not paid it back. so your information is provided to that call centers.

SO what actually they (Call Centers) do...

1. First they get all your detail from banks and some crooks. include: your name, social security number, address, employment detail, 2 refrences and a detail of any lumsum amount between 100$ to 300$.

2. they have USA UK number for their own (only for displaying).. they calls through various softwares (like: icall) by using headphones.

3. They makes a write up for leaving msg. like:-
"this message is intended for Mr. john.  john the very second you receive this msg i need you or your retained attorney to call me back. the issue at hand is extremely time sensetive. my name is ..........., and i am calling from financial accountability association, my call back no. is 123456789, i am repeating this for you john 123456789, john don't disregard this msg and call me on my number back. if i don't get any call from you or from your attorney........ wish you good luck,
take care"

4. If you pick up phones... they threatens you by saying... that federal govt is falling lawsuit against you and your social security number. and try to remembrazed you that you took a pay day loan and never paid it back...They knows that you people living on loans itself, so it is very easy to threaten you that such company falling lawsuit against you for your unpaid loan( which actually not that loan which you took before) They usually ask for the amount more than they get in their list like.... near by 1245$ or according to clients voice (afraid or nervous)

5. they can tell u that they have sent u various mails to inform you but u never replied.

how to avoid them...

1. Say that you have an attorney. ( they can ask bankruptcy or criminal attorney) if u tell criminal they will say it won't work and ask for bankruptcy attorney. if you say bankruptcy they will say it won't work and ask for criminal attorney. give any number by saying "call to my attorney" they won't call.
2. Say that u know : Its ALL SCAM .......... they will hung up.
3. say that that is not my social security number... they will never call.
4. Ask for date of the loan taken...... they can't help you or can give u any fack date.( by which u can come to know about scam)

they are now saying that they are crime prevention from the police department and if you don't pay them they will serve the warrent in whatever state that you are in.

I just got off the phone with them and they said that they were going to use my social security number and take money out and run with it. what do I do now.

this is definitely a scam.  I got off the phone with Patrick Jones and he said the cops would be in my driveway if I did not pay.   this is bull and someone needs too stop this mess....

I received a phone call today from the department of fraud for PayDay Cash Advance.  The heavily accented caller informed me that I would be arrested today at 5:30pm eastern time if I did not settle the debt immediately.  I could not understand the original caller's name but was transferred to a Gary Thomas.  I had heard of these scammers before so I was prepare for their rhetoric.  It is unnerving how much personal information they have.

Just received a call from these people and turned them in to the attorney gerneral, DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOU INFO>

Now I got another call from the same people of 646-525-4064 but they used a different phone number so be ware! they called me from 623-889-0816, They used the same name of DEPARTMENT OF CRIME PREVENTION. I cant beleive how these slime bags get peoples identity and all their information!. They know my work number and my cell. Same guy called me too!

I have been getting calls from 646-525-4064 and they are intimidating me and threatening me that they need my attorneys phone number.  I don't even know what they are talking about, they say they are from the Dept of Crime and Prevention and have a lot of my personal information.  I am going to turn them into the authorities and the local TV station and see what help I can get for us.

I know they called me on Good Friday and i said..ummm well today is a holiday..didn't you know that..i dont think you will get a warrant today..maybe try monday.

Yeah they've been calling me for about a week telling me that I owe them 972 dollars and if I didn't pay it  by yesterday I would go to jail.they called my cell and my job all day yesterday.they told my little cousin that if I didn't call them back they would send someone to my house to arrest me and I would be locked up for thirty days.they claim to work for the dept.of crime prevention.I almost wired them the money but something just didn't seem right because they never told me what company they where collecting the debt for.So,I decided to google the number they left on my voicemail and this is what I found.thank you all for your post,maybe we raise awareness about these criminals.

I had the same calls...what can we do about this...the man had called my father and said he was "MAC" and that he had questions for me about preventing a crime. He said he was from the crime prevention. I called the # 646-525-4064...they answered and i could not understand what he was trying to say to me. I told him that i have a lawyer that i can three way about the matter,,,then i never hurd from him again. I wonder if i can sue them for harassment? When i told them i have only had 1 payday loan and it was for 500.00 they tried to tell me i owed 900.00. I was like well i can send you bank stament stating i never recived any money from a pay day loan from an online company.
