Prank Call
Do NOT engage with these people.  They are all liars and jerk.  You don't owe them anything.  They got an Internet line to call you.  The number they tell you to call is usually a NY number but they'll tell you they are in Washington DC.  They say they are DC Corporate Law Offices.  Yeah, right- in New York!  ha ha
I totally mess with them because they have the exact same script saying they are Jim Brown, Alex Brown, Walter Smith- whatever.  You Do NOT owe them anything.  They are most likely from India and you will barely be able to understand them.  Mess around with them and then they will tell you that you are a "primary suspect" in a legal matter and that they will be calling your work and get you fired.  I told him I'm my own boss and that I wouldn't be firing myself.

What a joke!

9 months ago they got my number and I reported it to the FBI.  This is the first they've called since I told them I reported them.  If you get the call, I encourage you to go on the FBI website and report it.
IT'S A SCAM.  Don't fall for it.
I called them 30x today and they are so aggravated with me.  They actually told ME I was harassing them!  I asked them how it felt.  I'd change my voice with every call.  Sometimes I'd say I worked there too.  They are so frustrated and said "Don't Call Back!  Ever!"  Guess, I'm not the primary suspect.
Ha HA!
Will again be reporting to the FBI and FTC.
PS the call usually comes from 636-655-66 or 441-636-655-66  YES non US numbers

My wife received a message in her elementary school office from a Mark Robinson, who had a very thick Indian accent and claimed he was from "Corporate Counseling Service", and he wanted her to call the 646 number.  My wife has had these calls before at her school, and has told the staff just to politely tell them she is not available to take calls during school hours.  After she got the message at her school, she called me and left a message about it.  According to the time stamp on my answering machine, it wasn't five minutes later,  and I got a message  from an unknown name, unknown number, saying the same thing that these other comments have said.  We've had calls from this area code before, which is somewhere in Manhattan, smack dab in the middle of New York City!  Rather than calling them back and using puerile methods (loud music, whistles, profanity, etc.) as well as getting charged long distance charges if you call from a landline phone, go to the FTC's website (ftc.gov) and file a complaint through them. I used it, complained about three numbers, and have not had calls back from those numbers shortly after I filed the complaint.  The system DOES work, if you let it!

My wife, who is a 6th grade teacher with Omaha Public Schools, had a message from someone named Mark Robinson, who also had a heavy Indian accent, claiming to be with some counseling service.  My wife has told the office staff to tell ANYONE with a heavy foreign accent that she is not available.   So I got a message on my answering machine from an "Unknown Name, Unknown Number", and he left the same, threatening message, ironically, right after my wife called and left me a message!!  Do these people think that we are gullible enough to put up with this crap?  The Federal Trade Commission has a website with a section specifically set up for complaints such as these.  I reported three of them to the F.T.C., and the calls stopped from those numbers!  Use the system!  It DOES work, and use the methods SV from Calif used also.  I have one of my wife's playground whistles that I'm going to use!

don't give them the time..  do not give them your name..  just keep saying no to them.  no, no , no , no, no
they'll stop calling if you don't give them an idea that they are getting to you.  don't call them back, don't even respond to them.

if they know they are just wasting their time,  they'll stop.  it seems like forever, but eventually they will.
if you do answer the phone and you know its them ( caller id) get a whistle and blow in their ear.  kinda funny to do to them
but by all means do not converse with this scam company

Prank Call
Received a call at my work number and cell phone for the 55th time this year.  The East Indian male scam artists now have a female contacting me by the phony name of Monica Smith.  I instructed her yesterday never to contact my business phone again or my cell number.  I told her I knew their operation was a scam......the same exact script on the message gave her away....go figure.  She called again this a.m. at 6:55 and left the same threatening message. This is a pre-paid phone number they are using....along with all the others.  After calling back 3 times I finally got to leave a voice message.  I warned her and the others to stop contacting me at any number they have for me.  I advised I would provide this other pre-paid number to my local and federal authorities since they are being investigated.  Then I continued to call and leave annoying messages.....with loud music, dialing throughout the message just to turn the tables on them and give them a taste of harrassment.  I find when I do this for 2 days in a row they somehow stop calling me for at least a month or two.  I suggest you turn the tables on them. call them by blocking your number first by dialing *67 then their number.  Provide them your name and warn them you know they are not a legitimate collector and you will provide your federal government and phone company with every number they leave for you to call back to aid them with their investigation.  Then keep calling and dial in their ear, play loud music or just anything else to harrass them.

if you are receiving calls from this number 646-543-5162 its a scam I cussed them out this morning and I kept calling them and calling them if you call back make sure you block your number so they cant see who it is calling fools them every time! Unfortunately you cant do anything to stop them from calling your work number but you if you are an Android user you can get an app from the Market to block the numbers they call from.  They get your information from an online app that they produce where you may have applied for a payday loan about 2 weeks after that was shen I started getting the calls DONT FALL VICTM TO THEIR SCAMS!!!

I just received a phone call from this number and had this foreigner tell me his name was "Michael Black" and he was going to file charges against my husband for a loan that I have no idea what he is talking about.  He rudely told me not to interrupt him while he was going over my husbands file with me (even though I was asking a legitimate question). He started by telling me that as of tomorrow when they file charges I will owe $5,484.87 and then said if I would take care of it today we would only owe $1,097.00.  Wasn't that nice of him? How do we get these people to leave us alone? They are calling my husband at work constantly! HELP! Would they talk to me even though I am not on the loan if they were pressing charges tomorrow? And they never told me "it was to collect a debt".

Same Indian scam artists who've been harassing me on my cell phone periodically since January.   They call every day several times and leave threatening, intimidating messages claiming I'll be arrested for not paying a loan.  I haven't taken out a payday loan in a year, paid it in full and on time, and don't intend to ever take one out again.  They don't know anything about American criminal laws or court procedures.  They have heavy Indian accents and give phony American names, phony depts and made-up law enforcement agency names that don't exist, and alternately call themselves Officer, Detective, etc. to scar people into paying their extortion money, which would never end.  Some people have been stupid enough to fall for this and pay and then these crooks keep calling and demanding more.  I've had a stupid towelhead call me who can barely speak English and it's the same idiot because I recognize the voice but he always uses a different name.  He called me every day til February, stopped then started again in May when I wouldn't pick up the phone or call him back.  Now four months later the idiot's starting his ridiculous crap again.  He won't get my money because I changed my bank account and debit card #'s and remarried, so my name on my SS card isn't even the same either. The numbers on my caller ID show only 8 digits or zeroes, so that's a tip off.  Don't fall for their scam.  They want to scare you into paying what you probably don't even owe, and it'll never end.  These blackmailers keep demanding more when some fools have paid them. The feds can't get them because they work out of call centers in India and call from basements or their car and have no physical address that can be traced.  I changed my bank account and debit #'s and recently remarried so my name isn't even the same on my SS#, so they can't get anything from me even if they try. And I don't answer their calls.  A few times I've picked up when I had the time and patience and called them MF and camel f**er just to piss them off or blew a whistle in their ear, but that doesn't stop them.
