Generally, these types of people have already thought of the do not call list and the FCC. At this point, the only real way is to sue them yourself and make a mound of $$!

The NY FOP called at 8:48AM.  Wouldn't donate even if they were legitimate for calling so early in the AM.  A***oles.

Called my house at 8:15 am.  I didn't answer but it is annoying to receive a call so early in am.

And just what do you think calling the DNC number will accomplish?

ny fop # 646-558-5576 calling to ask for donations.

I have received multiple calls from 646-558-5576 claiming to be NY FOP. They usually call before 9am and if I don't answer the phone they hang up and leave no message.  This really annoying and I hope it doesn't give the real NY FOP a bad rep. I have a family member on the police force.

They get quite nasty when you don't give up your cash.  Do not donate over the telephone.

Got this call and they said they were looking for the lady of the house....they hung up when the answer machine gave its message..the caller sounded creepy and immediately I felt the scam flag go up...then I came here to learn who the call was from.....sure enough...scam....thanks for all the post about this number....

They called, it rang once, they hung up.

i told these people not to call.... that there is no one by that name living here.... even told them the name of the household....even have a rude out-going message for them....

Received a call from them a few minutes ago. This time there was an ID of NY FOP.  I didn't pick up, as I didn't pick up the first time they called, using a different phone number with no ID shown. Research by others have shown they are scam artists, trying to get our money and have nothing to do with the NY Police Department, or any other police departments. I listed the first phone number with the DNC list, but if they keep changing their phone numbers, I guess I'll be getting these awful calls again.

caller asked for the 'lady of the house'.  When I asked who's speaking, he pretended that he can't hear, and said he'd call back later because he 'can not hear anything.
when I called this agency back, they pretended they can't do a thing, except removing my number in 72 hours...but now my number is in 3 more person's hands within that organization...what is wrong with those pathetic people?  Must I show up in person at their office to take care of things?

I recieved a call from "NY FOP" many times. (few time/month, since last summer!)
I was wondering who is NY FOP? So I did a reserch online.
Then I found couple of websites describe them as a scam.

I picked up the phone, first thing that freak me out was that they knew my name!
He said "Hello OOOOO(my name), how are you doing today? We are callin for....blah blah..."
Then I confronted with him "I know you, I did my reserch, you guys are scam aren't you?"
He told me "I understand OOOOO(my name again!)."
Me:"I don't want you to calling me any more. Isn't this call illegal? What you guys doing is not right."
Him:"Sorry I can't hear you very well, let me turn up the volume." Then... he hung up... WTF!?
His voice was super sticky and how he talk was so creepy, please be careful.

PS. They never leave messages. also John is right, The National Do Not Call Registry doesn't work.

Got this same call.  It is for NYS Fraternal Order of Police.  Looking for donations.  They use a telemarketer.

I'm in NYC just got a call and he seemed very interested to get going when I mentioned that I know police departments in the state and city  and they never phone citizens for donations.

I called it back and there was an option to be removed from the call list, when I did that it stated that the mailbox was full....ugh!

Called, let it ring twice, hung up before I could answer.  Glad to know that its a scam.

Received call from this # and was prompted to press 2 if I no longer wanted to be called. Pressed 2 and was told the mail box was full. Pressed another # and was told please wait (the typical music began), so I decided to place my music speaker next to the phone and leave it there for 30 minutes before hanging up. I felt a little satisfaction! I called my phone carrier and had this # blocked.

There was only silence when I picked up.  I then laid the phone down and came back 5 minutes later and still silence so I hung up.  Caller ID said it was "NY FOP"
