Most likely the call is coming from out of the country. The number appearing on your caller id is not the REAL number that is calling.

1) This is a scam.
2) The calls are NOT coming from the United States and because of these it is impossible to enforce our laws on them.

They are not calling from NY. The calls typically come from overseas. The numbers from con artists are spoofed 99% of the time.

After reading the comments on this phone number I am glad I let the call go to voice mail.  I will block the entire area code of (646) now.  I use the Digitone Call Blocker 10 to block numbers, area codes, and exchanges.

Legitimate?  Calling someone who has already identified that they are NOT the homeowner 1-2 times per day for a month now?

picked up the phone and said 'hello'. no answer at the other end.

I called back to this number for one-half hour and was always told that the person I was calling was unavailable. msg 1004
